    “Luxury and Romance!”

We picked Kayumanis to end our 2 week vacation in Indonesia — we wanted to be pampered and able to fully relax and this resort was perfect. The staff were so attentive and the food was delicious – you must try the Kayumanis Cinnamon Toast for breakfast! Our pool villa was the ultimate in luxury and we enjoyed lounging by the pool with beverages :) The resort has a shuttle that will take you into the centre of Ubud or to a restaurant which was really convenient – just call 10min before you want to leave and then for your return provide them with 20min notice. Other than the shuttle and spa (I I HIGHLY recommend you go the spa!) …we did not the other resort amenities like the resort pool, bikes, etc. If you want luxury, relaxation and pampering this is a perfect place!

A great experience of 2-night stay at Kayumanis Ubud in November.

We booked a private villa but was upgraded to a bigger one upon arrival. Everything was fine and the service was great. We had all meals in the villa. The food in the restaurant was delicious but we preferred the Thai one. However, price was little expensive. Well, we enjoyed the high tea too. It was the mosquito coils that we didn’t like because it contains ingredients that are harmful. We think natural mosquito repellent is better and can keep away mosquitoes, such as lemon or orange peels. Yes, we will come back again.

    “Exceeded our expectations”

Wow! Were we ever impressed with Kayumanis! The villa is truly AMAZING. The pictures really don’t do it justice. As you walk down walled, cobblestoned pathways you are greeted with stately double doors that lead into your villa. The courtyard is very spacious – within is an outdoor living room/kitchen (all open walls) with a flat screen TV and counter/cook space (I took the cooking class which the chef conduced in my villa – do recommend). The pool is truly zen and very private. Best part – the bathroom! The bathroom space is all open air and the shower – completely outdoors. Even though we had some light rain, the outdoor living was divine. It was warm and comfortable and we slept with bedroom doors open to hear the rain. The pool is heated and warm and conducive to a private morning swim.

Service – over the top. The shuttle was prompt – we never had to wait to go to or from Ubud which is about a 10 minute drive. The staff is wonderful and wanting to make sure we had a fabulous stay. Highly recommend.

    “Welcome back Home”

My husband spent weeks researching the perfect place to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary and he certainly found it a Kayumanis Ubud Private Villa and Spa. Our villa was perfect and was only trumped by our magnificent anniversary dinner in our candlelit villa complete with flower covered pool.

If the Bali experience that you are looking for is based more on seeing the friendly and caring people and taking a step back in the pace of your everyday life, Kayumanis Villas are ideal.

Villas are well appointed and staff are excellent. Using the shuttle service is better than trying to find some where close to Ubud. The staff can arrange anything that you require and are always making sure you are cared for.

“Beautiful start to our 13th Anniversary getaway…”

My wife and i just returned from our incredible 13th Anniversary getaway… a 9 night stay in Bali in 3 different resorts. Our first stay was at the Kayumanis Ubud. All 3 of the resorts had its pros and cons (the other 2 being Alila Villas Uluwatu and St Regis Bali) and i will tend to compare them.

We havent been to Bali for 11 years and when we arrived it was raining and we were told that it had been raining recently. But thankfully, throughout our stay in Bali, it only ever rained twice and it was at night.

Upon arrival at Bali airport, we were greeted by the greeting service representative who helped us settle all the arrangements as well as our luggage. Excellent service (it was a paid option offered by Kayumanis) which was great! Once we were out of the busy airport, we were greeted by the Kayumanis driver. Initial impressions wasnt that great as he was quiet and didn’t say much. But during the 1 hour 50 minutes drive to Kayumanis, we was quite helpful and offered if we wanted to stop somewhere. We then realised that the journey was not long because of the distance, but more because of the traffic and the roads were mostly single lane roads. The great thing about Kayumanis transportation (compared to Alila and St regis, whihc didnt have this) was that there was complimentary WIFI!!! Great for killing time!

When we arrived at Kayumanis, we found it very beautiful indeed… (this was our first time to Ubud). Especially after the rain, the greenery was scenic and although the lobby/reception area was small, it felt really personal and cozy. We were greeted well and quickly brought to our Villa for personal checkin by the very helpful Gede.

We are also very honored and happy that because we were celebrating our anniversary (and my birthday as well), the management upgraded our deluxe one bedroom villa to their Honeymoon Villa! What a welcome to Bali indeed!

The Villa had its own huge outside compound, a jacuzzi, huge pool (larger than the one at Alila and Strand Villa at St Regis). I love the outside living area concept as the weather in Ubud is really cool… even with the Sun up over the next few days.

Another different concept i read about Kayumanis was its outside bathroom and toilet area. It took us a while to get used to it, but i have to say, we both LOVED the outside SHOWER! The other point we loved about the whole Kayumanis compound was the landscaping and the colours from the greenery and flowers everywhere you go! The plants really thrive in this environment.

    F&B
we loved the fact that you can order anything for breakfast… anything and its included! The prawn fried rice was my favourite hot dish (even compared to the other 2 resorts) and we also tried the famous Cinnamon Toast and the Banana pancake! OMG!

Hi Tea was also provided complimentary every afternoon which we enjoyed. We spent most of our dining in our own Villa and only once tried their restaurant (which were under renovation during our stay).

On our 2nd night, we had the Romantic candle light dinner where the staff decorated the whole Villa, inside and especially the outside compound with candles, flowers, and filled the huge pool with pink rose petals! WOW!, i cant remember how many photos i took of the whole compound… very beautiful!

Needless to say, we ate a lot during our stay!

    SPA
We tried one of their signature treatments and also had another 90 minute session which was part of the package. On both occasions, we had it at their couples spa pavilion… the first time we had our spa treatment without any music or air condition…. very relaxing indeed as you can hear the birds, the water from the ayung river and the breeze was enough to keep us cool…

    SERVICE
Overall services was excellent! The staff to rooms ratio is probably about 4-5 per Villa, so it helps and we felt service was very prompt and staff were ALL very friendly and courteous.

    Negatives
The only negative issue is mosquitos. The first night was fine, but the other 2 nights, we had so many mosquito bites. The staff were very kind to find the ointment for the bites, but the itch just wouldnt go away. However, did this didnt spoil our time here. late afternoons can get dark quite quickly there too because of the tons of shades it provides and also the slight lack of lights in the compound.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Kayumanis and would return if we had the chance. If i were to compare Kayumanis Ubud to Alila Villas Uluwatu and St Regis (Strand Villa), its a close 2nd to Alila Uluwatu in terms of service and overall experience. When i take into account the rates i paid, then this is definitely the most value for money with Alila a close 2nd. St. Regis pales in comparison. I will review Alila Uluwatu and St Regis separately.

    A wonderful start indeed….

“Great hotel and definitely worth staying”

It’s one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed. I experienced the warmest and most considerate service from the employees in this hotel. The second day I stayed in the hotel was my birthday and I even received a birthday cake from the hotel and a bunch of flowers! That was such a nice surprise and I was so happy. You can tell how considerate and hospital employees in kayumanis are. Also, the villa is spacious and well cleaned. Fantastic breakfast and spa. Loved everything! Highly recommend and is definitely worth staying if you are visiting Ubud. The hotel offers free service to drive u to city centre or pick you up there to the hotel. Very convenient. Worth the price!
