January 26th is just around the corner and for Australians, it’s a day to celebrate. Even if you find yourself abroad, you don’t have to miss out on the fun. Though Australia Day is obviously not an official holiday in Bali, most restaurants and pubs in Bali offer fun activities and enticing promotions for their neighbours visiting from down under. Here are a few fun ideas on where to celebrate Australia Day in Bali.

Sea Vu Play

Sea Vu Play is one of the hippest venues on trendy Jalan Petitenget (also home to Potato Head and the W) and on Australia Day, the venue is throwing a family-friendly barbecue bash. The festivities will include beer pong, children’s booth, crab racing and the very intriguing pavlova eating competition. Tennis and cricket will be streamed on the big screen, so there really is something for everyone here.

Mrs Sippy

We can think of few better places to celebrate Australia Day than one of the hippest pool clubs in Bali. Nestled just off Jalan Petitenget, Mrs Sippy is offering a full day of poolside fun with epic tunes provided by The Tailors and Sippy’s stellar line up of resident DJs. The venue is known for its huge pool, beyond Instagrammable jump tower and killer cocktails… race you there!

Ulu Cliffhouse

Ulu Cliffhouse is putting a classier spin on Straya Day. In their own words, “it’s Australia Day, minus the Bintang singlets.” Sold! This swanky pool club sits perched on the Uluwatu cliffs, so you know the views are going to be epic. Besides the gorgeous setting and a soundtrack filled with Aussie summer anthems, Ulu Cliffhouse is offering a gourmet barbecue spread featuring king prawns wrapped in smoked bacon, crispy shallots, lamb kebab… Hungry yet? We thought so. In case you need more convincing, they’re also offering free entry.

Paris Jazz Cat Club

As the old saying goes, we’ll always have Paris – even when we’re in Bali and even when it’s Australia Day. The fabulous Paris Cat Jazz Club is putting their own unique spin on the day’s festivities by hosting a night of live reggae and classic Aussie tunes. Located on Jalan Petitenget, Paris Cat Jazz Club is known for hosting some of the best live music on the island. If you’re looking for a tad classier setting for celebrating Australia Day in Bali, Paris Cat Jazz Club might be just the ticket.

Cocoon Beach Club

Ain’t no Aussie Day pool party like an Aussie Day pool party in Bali! Cocoon Beach Club can throw a fabulous bash on a regular old Tuesday, so you know their Australia Day party is going to be epic. The day will feature a stellar line up of both local and international DJs and a fabulous gourmet barbecue spread. Honestly though, they already had us at “unlimited side dishes.” Catch you poolside!

The Haven

The Haven is hosting an Australia Day celebration with a BBQ bazar (including free ice cream and beer!) The day will feature fun games so this might be a great option for those visiting Bali with kids.

Splash Water Park

If you’re looking for some family friendly fun, Splash Water Park might be the perfect spot for celebrating Australia Day in Bali. Located at Finns Recreation Club in Canggu, Splash Water Park features epic water slides (including the 90-metre long Giant Racer) and a poolside restaurant. Come Australia Day, Aussies will enjoy a 50% discount on day passes and activities will include handball, thong throwing competitions and, what else, a good old-fashioned Aussie barbecue. Gracie Kelly’s

Gracie Kelly’s puts an Irish spin on Straya Day celebrations. A fun filled night that’s suitable for the whole family, Australia Day in Gracie Kelly’s will include live music, fun competitions as well as special discounts and offers. Grab an Aussie meat pie and wash it down with a Bali Moon Cocktail – these babies are set to be two-for-one all night long!

The Stones Hotel

Nothing like a major holiday to bring on the homesick blues. If you find yourself missing the Land Down Under come January 26th, why not spend Australia Day in Bali by feasting on all your favourite dishes from back home? The Stones Hotel in Legian is hosting a Straya Day celebration filled with Aussie favourites plus fun activities like Tim Tam slam and face painting. An acoustic band will provide the perfect soundtrack for this fun filled day. To mark the occasion, happy hour will stretch from noon to 6pm.
