Introducing Natai – Amazing Natural Scenery

Naturally beautiful Natai is a quiet and unspoilt beachfront village featuring with amazing onshore and underwater sceneries. Located on the western coast of Phang Nga province, Natai attracts families and couples to relish in secluded and peaceful beach retreat.

NATAI STYLE

A pristine shore of golden sand Natai or Pilai beach stretches for more than 10 kilometres along the west coast of Phang Nga province. Remote, secluded and idyllic, this beach houses a handful of seaside four and five-star resorts and a dozen of luxury villas. Dotted along the beach, there is still enough place for travellers feeling for having all sand to themselves.

The beach itself is tidy, wide and pristine, with just a few rows of sun lounges and umbrellas adjusted to hotel resorts and private villas. You can walk along the beach for kilometres without seeing a soul.

There are several restaurants in the resorts and a couple of standalone venues for those feeling for having a snack or lunch during their lazy days on the beach. Even though Natai remains deserted, reasonably untouched and boasts natural scenery, developers have put their eyes on the area, so hurry up to witness Natai in all its virgin beauty as it is now.

NATAI LOCATION

Situated towards the north of Phuket International Airport on the western coast of Phang Nga province, Natai is the ideal base to take in all sights of Phang Nga and indulge in its natural beauty.

GETTING THERE

Although it is possible to get to Natai, Phang Nga over land or water, the best way is to fly:

AIRPORT TRANSFER

It can take anywhere between 30 minutes to 45 minutes to reach Natai from Phuket International Airport depending on traffic. Ministry of Villas can arrange a chauffeur to greet you upon arrival and escort you to your villa.

AIRPORT TAXI

Alternatively, there is a taxi desk at the arrival level which arranges one-way fares at a fixed-price. You can opt one of the transfer options – a shared mini van with other travellers or a private taxi.

GETTING AROUND

There are several options, so we’ve ranked them according to our recommendations for first-time travellers:

PRIVATE CAR

Ministry of Villas can arrange a private car and chauffeur for you. Depending on which villa you are staying in, the cost for the private vehicle with a driver can vary, so it’s recommended to contact our Ministry of Villas team to get the complete information about the private transfers.

TAXI

It might be challenging to find a taxi down the street due to the fact that Natai is a rather secluded resort town, but you can always ask your villa manager to arrange a taxi for you. It is recommended to use taxis of trustful companies equipped with meters, rather than random minivans that usually set inflated prices.

RENTAL SCOOTER

Due to the rather remote location of Natai area, some people feel the necessity to rent a motorbike to explore the village and travel further afield. Though, there are no rental shops in the area, so if you need a bike, head to Patong that boasts rental shops. Also, take into account that traffic can be somewhat chaotic, so a certain level of experience is required. You must have an international drivers license on your person at all times, otherwise, the local police can issue you a ticket with a summons to appear in court. And make sure you wear a helmet.

RENTAL CAR

If you are travelling from Phuket’s international airport, it is the best place to rent a car, as Natai lacks rental shops. This coastal village is rather expanded, most of the travellers prefer to stay in their private villa with all amenities, services and facilities included. So if you are not planning to explore further afield, a rented car is not necessary.

Ministry

NATAI VILLAS

There are over 10 Ministry Approved villas in Natai. As Natai is one of the most exclusive locations often referred to as a new “Hamptons”, villa prices tend to be higher than in other Thailand destinations. Natai villas range from USD $370 per night for two-bedroom villa resorts to over USD $2,200 per night for a six-bedroom luxury villa.

Most of our villas have dedicated staff including butlers, chefs, nannies, 24-hour security personnel, and many other services you won’t find in a hotel. This is why we say “Spend just one night in a villa and you’ll never stay in a hotel again.”

NATAI DINING

Each of the five-star hotels in Natai has restaurants and bars open for public. These sophisticated and elegant venues serve the elaborated Thai and international cuisines, specialising in fresh seafood.

If you are staying in the private villa, you can expect a star chef to be cooking for you sumptuous dishes from local and western cuisines, along with the mouth-watering barbeques and gorgeous desserts.

Finally, Natai is a home to a couple of standalone midrange beachfront eateries providing an attractive menu completed with unbeaten views of the mesmerising Andaman Sea.

NATAI NIGHTLIFE

Due to its strategic location on the western coast of Phang Nga province, Natai is one of the best places to watch the sun setting on the horizon.

Head to the beach, where the former pier serves a meeting point of local fishermen, to watch the beautiful scenery of the sunset and tireless fishes boasting of their catch. If you are feeling more energetic, Natai beach offers an abundant area to stroll or jog along the shoreline indulging your solitude and pleasant breeze on your face.

A couple of seaside beach bars located in the hotels attract visitors to sip an exotic cocktail, people watch and chill out by the beach. Those who cannot live without hectic parties are blessed with Patong – a party centre of Thailand – which is only a 25-minute drive from the Natai.

NATAI SHOPPING

Quite limited, shopping in Natai is concentrated in the village, and is represented with a couple of grocery stores and mini marts.

A few casual markets set in the centre of Natai are random and usually provide a rather limited selection of items such as typical souvenirs, knick-knacks, T-shirts and beachwear.

For a serious shopping head to Patong, which is packed full with massive shopping malls, fashion boutiques, local markets, bazaars and street stalls selling everything from the natural spa products to leather brand bags, shoes and accessories.

NATAI RELAXATION

Natai is a place to simply laze on the beach, stroll sands and chill out in the beachfront cafes and bars. There are neither congested streets nor mobs of madding tourists, just peace and serenity all around.

Waters washing Natai beach are calm and pristine during the high season and are excellent for swimming, snorkelling and kayaking. In offseason all western beaches get hit by swells, so, like elsewhere in Phuket and Phang Nga, Natai beach becomes murky and wavy, and most of the travellers prefer swimming in their private villa pools.

Besides beach retreat, there is not much to do in Natai. You could explore the naturally beautiful area boasting tropical greenery, mangrove lagoons, coconut and pineapple groves and local villages keeping a traditional way of living.
