Pa Klok Overview

Pa Klok is a study of contrast. Splendid villas nestled atop of the hills offering the most impeccable services along with the breathtaking views are replaced by the fishermen shacks at the foot of the hills lining the shoreline. During the high tide, Pa Klok is a pleasant place to relish in the beach retreat, swim and lay around on the soft sand. Low tide bares the seabed, making it ideal for the long quiet strolls along the coastline.

The mangrove forest occupies the large part of the Pa Klok. During the low tide, local fishers walk in mud flats to collect crabs shellfish and other edible clams for their supper. When the tide gets higher fishermen go for trawling and usually come back with a good catch. Surrounded by local kids, they put their trawl nets on the seabed to boast catch.

The development of the region has finished with building the wooden catwalk that runs for approximately one kilometre through the mangrove forest and ends at the empty shoreline. Tucked away amidst incredible mangrove, this small bridge is hard to find, but once you discover it, you can indulge in the peaceful and quiet walks through the forest. You can also rent a small canoe, and explore the mangroves at your own pace, paddling through the tiny channels linking small islets covered with trees.

PRIVATE CAR

Ministry of Villas can arrange a private car and chauffeur for you. Depending on which villa you are staying in, the cost for the private vehicle with a driver can vary, so it’s recommended to contact our Ministry of Villas team to get the complete information about the private transfers.

ON FOOT

Pa Klok is an ideal place to indulge in the quiet strolls along the beach or through the mangrove forest along the wooden catwalk. The area is small, so you don’t need to bother yourself with searching for transport as most of the sites are within a short walk. If you want to travel further afield and explore other areas, then you might need to rent some vehicle or require a private car with a chauffeur.

RENTAL SCOOTER

There are no motorbike rental shops in Pa Klok, so if you prefer moving around on two wheels, it is recommended to rent a motorbike in the more popular tourist locations. Take into account that you must always have an international drivers license on your person at all times, otherwise, the local police can issue you a ticket with a summons to appear in court. And, of course, make sure you wear a helmet.

RENTAL CAR

If you are planning to explore further afield than renting a car is a good alternative to taxi travel, which is usually overpriced. However, you should take into account that there are no car rental shops in Pa Klok, so it is recommended to rent a car at the more touristic locations or in the Phuket International Airport if you are travelling by plane. There are several car rental offices at the arrival terminal, so you will have numerous options to choose from.

TAXI

It can be challenging to find a taxi down the street, as Pa Klok still remains rather secluded area not so popular within crowds. Although, you can always ask your villa manager to arrange a taxi for you. We recommend using metered-taxi as it is a far more affordable way to move around Phuket.
