Wow, wow, wow! I love this villa and there are actually three villas all side by side that can be booked together creating a massive 14 bedroom estate or separately but each with absolute privacy. Awesome location, right on the beach. Candidasa is a quiet coastal town with a handful of restaurants and shops with great diving and snorkelling options. With a team of staff to look after you, you’ll never want to leave!

Immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of Candidasa beachfront at Cempaka Villa. During our recent inspection of this remarkable property, we discovered that the perfect spot for ultimate relaxation is by the poolside on one of their inviting white sun loungers. From there, you can indulge in uninterrupted views of the stunning beachfront, creating a truly serene atmosphere. What truly sets Cempaka Villa apart is its attentive and friendly staff. Their warm hospitality adds an extra touch of luxury to your stay, making you feel truly pampered.

One of the best places to stay at Bali, everything was great. The staff was professional and made everything easy for us, The manager was amazing and I can’t thank him enough. On the other hand, the villa was wonderful and beautiful, we really had an amazing time, coming back there for sure.

    Great food at good prices
I stayed in Borobudur three days and are here twice. The food was really good and the staff was incredibly warm and professional. The meny has a fee Western options like sandwich, pasta and such, but I don’t know how they are as I went for fried rice and satay. Both my choices were delicious though so I imagine the Western stuff is just as good. A quiet place with a comfortable and cozy looking eating area.

Just FYI: if you want apple juice and they ask “with ice”, if you say “yes” you get a kind of slushie- literally the apple juice mixed with slush ice. It was quite lovely 😊

Great stay close to the Temple
A great budget stay close to the Borobudur Temple. It offers nice traditional rooms with AC and private bath. The bed is big and there is also a water cooker with two cups and tea and water in every room.

The offer free WiFi and a restaurant also. Breakfast is available and you can choose between nasi goreng, mie goreng or american style breakfast with toast.

Around the corner is a indomaret so that you can buy something if you needed and also a tasty nasi Padang is down the street at the corner to Borobudur Temple.

It’s only a 10 minute walk to Borobudur Temple. Parking on the ground is available

Uninterrupted views of the stunning Candidasa beachfront can be enjoyed during your stay at Cempaka Villa. We recently inspected this villa and found that poolside on one of their white sun loungers would be where we spent our days lazing. The attentive staff are super friendly and can prepare your meals to be enjoyed in your outdoor dining bale.

16 friends stayed in both Villa Bakung and Cempaka. Both villas are stunning and the overall experience was second to none. The staff were exceptionally attentive, yet we never felt they were intrusive. We had dinner at the villa on a number of occasions and the Balinese food was exceptional, delicious and very fresh. All our requests were met, and organised without issue or delay. An amazing experience, that exceeded our expectations. A few more beach towels wouldn’t go amiss!

    Cozy, and a perfect location
Yes it’s snug, with room for beds and not a lot more, but the villas are charmingly set up, spotlessly clean, and literally less the five minutes walking from Borobudur. The vibe is chill, and staff very sweet and friendly. Gunter, who owns the company that does transfers for the place, is great and can book all kinds of adventures with transport. All-rounded enjoyment
I had a wonderful time at the Villa. The location was great and the rooms are reasonable clean. I love the room setup, with generous divider to separate the bathroom and the sleeping area. It was perfect as a resting place for Borobudur and hikes in the area.
There are both indoor and outdoor sitting area. It’s perfect for alfresco dinning or just a gathering if it rains.
The staff were friendly and well-trained in hospitality. Food was decent and the chef is opened to suggestion and changes.

It was fantastic. I had a great time.

    Incredible Service, Cozy Environment
We were picked up by the driver sent by the hotel from the train station. Upon arrival, I was drawn to the serenity of the villa. Staffs were incredibly friendly and ensure our needs are met and attended. The bed was huge and I really like the style of the room. I would say it’s ideal for couples or small groups.

It is also minutes away from Bourbodur, so this is definitely an excellent location given this is the primary attraction.

I highly recommend staying at Cempaka if you are planning a visit to Bourbodur

    Clean, Cozy & Comfy
Stepped into Cempaka Villa and fell in love with the wooden Javanese restaurant structure cum front desk~ The staffs are truly helpful & friendly, they speak good English, and no hiccup while handling our check-in on Sunday (Nov 27)

The garden is well maintained and we are delighted that it’s above our expectation so far.

The hotel gave us a family room with one King size bed + one Single bed. I would say it’s just nice for 2 adults & 2 children. The room was clean and the bed was comfy too~ Toothbrush, bath soap, shower gel & shampoo are provided, and also there were 3 pairs of slippers too! Thumbs up to that!

However, there is no place to hang your clothes, only a wooden closet inside the bathroom.

There are 3 different types of breakfast to choose from: American, Indonesian & Sandwiches~ I chose Vege fried rice without egg for 2 days, that comes with a cup of black coffee or tea. My boys had American breakfast that comes with toast, butter & jam, fried egg, slice of cheese, milk, juice & fruits platter! That’s quite a huge portion!! Hubby chose sandwich on first day, that comes with milk & juice, and Vege fried noodles with coffee the second day :)

We enjoyed the food so much that we had dinner for the two days we stayed~ the fried tempeh is a must try! I requested thick soy sauce (kicap manis) with cut chili to go with it~ boys loved the fried banana with cheese & chocolate banana pancake! The Gado gado was not bad too ^^ The prices are reasonable too.

I would strongly recommend Cempaka Villa to those who are looking for budget and neat place to stay when visiting Borobudur

Possibly one of the best places around to have lunch/dinner after visiting the Borobudur temple. Food is great and inexpensive. It is conveniently 5 min walk from the temple, and if you are not yet prepared to eat in the streetmarket located right at the exit of the temple, Cempaka Villa is a perfect choice.

Located about 200 m from Borubudor, this is a great little hotel to stay if you plan to visit the temple. The rooms are simple and clean with flat screen TV that only had local channels. The bathroom clean but needs a shower curtain to keep it dry. The food was good and the staff always tried their best to make our stay comfortable. They will help make bookings for the Borubodor visit and the local tours. Will surely stay here if I return.

    “Seaside Luxury”

The villa has 3 spacious bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs, all with king beds. The family area is in fact a huge verandah, because it has no walls. It has amazing views of the infinity pool and the sea. The sea breeze rolls in, you hear the sounds of the crushing waves…

The house provides snorkels for exploring the protected bay in front of the house. You descend a few steps and swim into the bay to see colourful fish around you, and you can even see corals growing on the pier. The house provides a list of well over 20 possible day trips and you can also hire a car to pick your own itinerary. The staff was very friendly, and the cook was great. We follow a plant-based fat free diet, and after some instructions she cooked up nice meals for us. Thanks!

    Friendly, surprisingly comfortable
These folks let us check in at 930AM after arriving from a long trip from Denpasar without missing a beat. Breakfast was pleasant, and they set us up with transport and admission to Borobudur at sunrise such that we only paid the normal ticket price and got transport for free.
The location was really perfect and close to many delicious warungs, stores, and Borobudur proper. Bike rentals were helpful too, as well as the free maps. Staff in general was about the nicest we have met in Indonesia.

The room was reasonably comfortable with semi-effective AC. It was adorably adorned with cosmetic touches such as complimentary toothbrushes and shower caps, even though I could never get hot water, and it was impossible to take a shower without water spraying EVERYWHERE, even into the bed. Not a big deal if you’re here just for a night.

The in-room coffee maker is a great touch if you’re waking up at 4AM for the Borobudur tour

    Amazing hospitality
Cempaka villa is a five minute walk from Borobudor temple. Rooms are clean and well air conditioned (so important in Indonesia’s heat!). Staff are really friendly and will go out of their way to make your stay a memorable one. Wifi connection is also really strong – which is much needed as the town itself isn’t known for it’s nightlife. Breakfast is delicious – you get a choice of freshly cooked nasi goreng (fried rice), mee goreng (fried noodles) or mee soto (noodle soup). There’s also a continental breakfast if that’s your preference. There’s a number of fun tours, or the option to rent a bike and explore the area on your own.

The only thing to watch out for is the lack of a wall between the bedroom and bathroom. There’s a thick curtain so that helps! All in all, I’m glad we stayed here!
