Elysium offers a mix of beachside splendour and historic elegance in South Sri Lanka. Designed by one of Australia’s best architects, Elysium is both elegant, modern and utterly luxurious with features including a private spa, gym, cinema room and billiard table. The five-bedroom mansion is located right on the Indian Ocean with direct access to a white sandy beach. Elysium Living
Elysium is a gorgeous beachfront retreat hugged by lush gardens. From elegant and peaceful living areas, to the formal dining room, to having access to your very own gym, spa and home cinema room (not to mention the 20-metre-long infinity pool!), every aspect of Elysium is designed to delight.
Living Room
The living spaces extend from the inside out with a wonderfully designed flow throughout the building. Step back to a time of old style glamour with impeccably chosen designs and antiques in the interior living room, which is filled with exceptional art from Asia. The room expands out onto the balcony and across the library and billiards table area, all of which offer spectacular views of the Indian Ocean through floor-to-ceiling windows.
Dining Room
Elysium has a number of options for dining. If you are looking to enjoy an informal barbecue then there are casual dining options in the outdoor living spaces, including poolside or on the beach deck. Formal meals can be enjoyed in the dining room with its spectacular round table that is a conversation piece in itself.

Elysium features a cinema room housed on the ground floor, perfect for hosting a family movie night.
Gym
Elysium includes a gym for those who prefer to keep active during their time away, which comes complete with resistance and cardio equipment.

Elysium features a private spa room. This is a place of complete serenity where you can enjoy treatments by an expert masseuse in your very own villa.
Garden & Pool
Elysium boasts an absolute beachfront location, meaning you can make to most of Sri Lanka’s pristine beaches with ease. There is also a beach deck that includes a cocktail bar and dining area. The villa also offers a 20-metre-long infinity pool. Scattered with cushioned sun loungers, the poolside area is perfect for relaxing days with a great book. The outdoor poolside pavilion and bar is great for informal meals and cocktails, while the beach pavilion is the ultimate place to watch the sun set across the ocean with a cocktail in hand.

Elysium Layout
Elysium is a five-bedroom villa that’s divided into multiple pavilions. The main building houses the dining room and cinema room on the ground floor. The formal living room is located upstairs along with the library and billiards table. The bedrooms are divided into separate pavilions. The villa has vast tropical gardens with a poolside pavilion and bar, private pool and beach pavilion. The villa offers an absolute beachfront location with the property lining the Indian Ocean.
Elysium Staff
Your stay in Elysium is made enjoyable by the professional staff. Elysium’s staff have been professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly hospitality.
Villa Manager
Elysium’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. The villa manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.
Housekeeping
You didn’t think you would be expected to clean while enjoying time off did you? All of our villas include housekeeping to tidy up the villa, arrange the laundry services, wash up and simply make sure you don’t lift a finger whilst on holiday with the family.
Butlers
Butlers are on hand everyday to assist with serving during meal times and attend to other guest requirements throughout your stay.
Chef
The villa run an a la carte menu system. The villa’s skilled private chef will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children’s suggestion menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements.
Security
Elysium includes night time security.
Location
Elysium is located in the sought after region of Galle in southern Sri Lanka. Galle is the ideal place for bird or whale watching and to use as a base to see the city or head out to some of the other countryside attractions. The villa offers direct access to Mihiripenna Beach. One of the key tourist spots close to the villa is Galle Fort, an 18th century Dutch fort town that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which sits some 20 minutes from the villa. You can easily spend a full day exploring Galle’s age-old paths and romantic colonial houses. Elysium is located about 2 hours from the airport.

Simply Outstanding
I spent 2 nights here with my wife and it was the clear highlight of our Sri Lanka tour. Pity we didn’t know about it because we would have booked more days. An incredibly stylish place with beautiful huge rooms and a wonderful pool. The deck by the sea is magical and the staff was by far the best we had encountered on our trip. And the food was certainly the best we have had in Sri Lanka and we would be hard pushed to find such food in London. The chef deserves a medal and Elysium deserves a whole bunch of Michelin stars. We will be back! Thanks for such a great stay.

Superb Luxury !
Great location, excellent menu choice with superb food and amazing presentation. Stunning Sea views with plenty of outdoor spaces and a refreshing tranquil pool. The aroma of Frangipani fills the air from the beautiful Frangipani garden. The suites are large and plenty of space. The large bed and bed linen are soft and extremely comfortable. The staff are totally professional and will ensure you have a wonderful stay at Elysium. A true gem on the Southern Coast of Sri Lanka.

Beautiful villa, beautiful location, amazing staff!
This was a holiday to remember. There were 8 of us that stayed as a family and booked the whole villa. The villa is beautiful and so is the location. The staff was out of this world – so attentive but never in the way. We thoroughly recommend this place for families or large groups. The food from the kitchen team is also amazing. All the best there!

The Excellent Elysium
We had a family reunion with nine adults and a baby in the beautiful setting of Elysium in Thalpe. Each of the five generously-sized rooms (including one large family suite) is tastefully designed and includes an outdoor courtyard with a shower. Having different lounge areas, a gym, a pool table, a sunset deck, and a large garden, the property is completely secure while offering every guest their own space. Directly located on a quiet beach, it is family-friendly for making sand castles and finding fish among the rock pools. The team on site is incredibly accommodating, going the extra mile to meet a guest’s needs, and they serve an excellent array of international dishes. From Chinese dumplings to Moroccan chicken to traditional Sri Lankan breakfasts, the food was fabulous. Elysium is only a 15-minute drive from the Galle Fort and a 10-minute walk to Wijeya Beach for sea swimming, making it a convenient spot to explore Sri Lanka’s golden mile.

Tranquil escape with delicious food
I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. The staff was lovely, the pool was just the right temperature with places to sit and lounge in the sun and shade against the backdrop of the roaring waves. The breakfast was top quality, with both the Sri Lankan and the other cooked breakfast options. There are only 5 rooms in the hotel so it felt very tranquil and never any competition to use the gym, pool table, or get the best loungers. Conveniently located between Galle, Mirissa, and Weligama beaches.

Amazing place!
The whole experience was just outstanding. The room, the service, and the food, (oh my god the food) were exceptional. The friendly staff could not do enough for us and took care of us discreetly. The pool and garden are very well maintained and the place is just a little bit of paradise.

Sublime stay, relaxed, tranquil, private
I’m so pleased we decided to book with Elysium. After lots of research, Elysium definitely stood out, but as it wasn’t central I was unsure. We went ahead and booked and it was definitely worth every penny, if anything it felt good value for money. We don’t tend to eat where we’re staying either, but the tuna fish steak sandwich I had there was the best fish I had on the whole 2 week trip and the breakfasts really were special too. Especially if you branch out of your normal egg dish and into the coconut curry and hoppers. They were so good the chef even sent me the recipe for me to take home. Very impressed, also lovely to meet the owner. I will recommend you to friends!

I was here on 2 October .this hotel is a very good and peaceful hotel. the hotel is very clean and well-equipped. it has a tea maker and a safe box inside the rooms. the hotel has free wifi in all areas with acceptable goods and also has very kind staff. they can speak English and they help you all the time . An absolute gem!
We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful villa, everything was pure perfection. The villa is beautifully designed and utterly captivating, and the staff is so friendly and attentive. The food was great, especially the prawn dumplings which we ate at every meal! Even during the off-season the sea was stunning and we managed to have a dip almost right outside the villa. Can’t recommend it enough for a magical break!

Amazing Stay and Excellent Service
Beautiful serene location with excellent hospitality – a place you will want to return to year after year! We were a family of 4 staying in the family suite – perfect size – for 10 days. The property is immaculately cared for with a pool, garden, and beach just beyond the property. The quality of the furnishings is high-end and no detail is overlooked. Mark and his entire staff are super friendly and attentive, but at the same time never in the way or “too close”. They really pampered us! Looking forward to vacationing there again!
