Satin Doll is a five-bedroom villa with a picture-perfect location right on the beach in south Sri Lanka. You can reach the UNESCO protected Galle Fort in a 20-minute drive. In addition to the direct beach access, the villa has a private pool and a beautiful design created by Ron Sidell and Bruce Fell-Smith. Satin Doll Living
Satin Doll offers a delicious blend of beach life and historic charm. The villa has an absolute beachfront location and an inviting pool. The interiors have been designed with respect to the area’s rich historical heritage. The villa also has a well-equipped media room, so there’s also room for modern comforts.
Living Room
Satin Doll’s living room occupies a spacious double-height space at the heart of the villa overlooking the pool through bi-fold doors. The room houses a sofa and four matching arm chairs with the floors covered in beautiful oriental carpets.
Dining Room
Satin Doll’s formal dining table is housed inside next to the living room. There’s also a dining area out on the courtyard and a traditional dining pavilion overlooking the beach. One of the absolute highlights of staying at Satin Doll is enjoying meals prepared by the masterful personal chef.
Media Room
Satin Doll’s media room on the villa’s upper level houses plush sofas and cosy nest-like chairs. The room has a 46-inch TV with DVD player and satellite channels as well as a surround sound speaker system. The room also houses the villa’s library of books.
Garden & Pool
Satin Doll has been purposefully designed to offer guests the best of tropical living. The vast gardens house a private pool and several secluded living areas where you can enjoy the beachfront views. There’s a beautiful shaded pavilion where you can have a meal while gazing at the ocean and sunken lounge which is a great spot for drinks at sunset.

Satin Doll Layout
Satin Doll is spread over a single floor which extends into a mezzanine level. The five bedrooms are divided into two separate wings of the villa, with each room adjoined by a veranda which offers views of the pool and beach. The villa is hugged by a leafy garden and offers a private swimming pool. The beachfront location means you can literally stroll to the Indian Ocean from your own back porch.

Your stay in Satin Doll is made enjoyable by the professional staff. Satin Doll’s staff have been professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly hospitality.
Villa Manager
Satin Doll’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. The villa manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.
Housekeeping
You didn’t think you would be expected to clean while enjoying time off did you? All of our villas include housekeeping to tidy up the villa, arrange the laundry services, wash up and simply make sure you don’t lift a finger whilst on holiday with the family.
Butlers
Butlers are on hand every day to assist with serving during meal times and attend to other guest requirements throughout your stay.
Chef
The villa’s skilled private chef will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children’s suggestion menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements.
Security
It’s nice to know you have security and many villas will have full-time guards or night time security available. Additional security can also be arranged if the villa doesn’t include any in the daily rate.

Satin Doll is located on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, 20 minutes outside the UNESCO protected Galle Fort. The villa offers guests direct access to the beautiful Mihiripenna Beach. Galle Fort is a stunning display of colonial architecture and houses countless charming restaurants and cafes. Satin Doll is located 2 hours and 15 minutes from Colombo International Airport.

Laid back luxury in stunning setting
Stunning location with the waves washing in over the little beach at the foot of the garden. Elegant, spacious guest rooms are tastefully decorated with four poster beds and local antiques and open up directly onto the lovely garden. Perfectly formed swimming pool to hand for a cooling dip and plenty of beaches nearby. Charming staff provides friendly and personal service. I traveled alone and had such a relaxing couple of days here at the end of my Sri Lankan adventure, I could have stayed another week! Highly recommend a stay here and I hope to be back myself. Thanks to the whole team who made me feel so welcome and looked after, a real gem of a property!

Delicious breakfast!
We stayed here for 3 nights in October 2022 in the family room. It was actually a main room with a bunk room coming off it as well as a bathroom and walk in wardrobe so plenty of space! The staff arranged a cot for us and it was a 4 poster with mosquito net! The room was beautifully decorated and the bed very comfy. The bathroom was amazing with a big deep stone bath, 2 sinks and a very powerful shower. The toiletries were really nice as well.
The breakfasts both sri lankan and western were amazing and very plentiful! The Turkish eggs was the best breakfast I have had anywhere in the world!! The staff were also very accommodating of my daughter (2 years old) and had a high chair for her.
The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were ok at all times and offered to sort trips and drivers. We actually decided to do these ourselves a little more economically.
On the last day they provided us with a delicious complimentary supper and sorted out a late check out for us which was a life saver with 2 small children.
The hotel has a lovely swimming pool with a shallow bit at one end which was great for the kids and then a deeper bit. It has direct access to the beach. We could not really swim in the sea at this point as it was too rough but the staff told us if we walked along the beach (about 15 mins and scrambling over some rocks) we would find a lagoon which was good for swimming and there were sea turtles in it which we swam with!

Warm, homey and beautiful boutique
We stayed here for my wife’s birthday and it was incredible, the staff noticed it was her birthday when they took copies of our passports so they surprised us with a cake that the chef baked! The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are super comfortable. The location is great, it’s a 10-minute ride, and super easy to get one anywhere you go in Sri Lanka so really fine. The food is awesome and super fresh, we had the most incredible lobster for dinner, it was probably the best meal we had in our whole trip and they consistently had the best food. We loved staying here and would stay here again. Special thank you to the incredible staff that made us feel so at home.

Pretty + Amazing
Without a doubt one of the favorite places I stayed during my many visits back home over the years! Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the staff. The staff was extremely friendly, and the restaurant was very flexible (appreciate this!). The rooms were well-equipped and the service was excellent. A short stroll over the front lawn we could view and feel the ocean. The location is absolutely perfect. Honestly felt like a private beach, very clean and clear water, a very good place to relax and chill. We had two great days here.
Highly recommended. Superb service, great location, and wonderful food. Have been visiting Sri Lanka for over 20 years and this has become one of my favorite places to stay. Perfect for a romantic getaway.

Wonderful weekend with friends and kids
We spent a wonderful weekend at Satin Doll with friends. The spacious and well-maintained garden with lots of trees and a pool makes it a great place for kids to play and have fun, while adults can relax and sip on a cool drink. The food is delicious, the views of the sea are stunning, and the service is outstanding. Rooms are beautifully decorated, very clean, and comfortable.

A gorgeous 4 villa boutique hotel
Wow ! Where do I start what a place, from entering the gate from the road we were welcomed like royalty. The villas are set in a beautiful garden with a pool and lovely furniture to sunbathe , read , relax and dine . The breakfast is the best a la carte I’ve eaten, cooked to order and plenty of it . The staff are amazing and were on hand day and night we felt very safe . They even did my laundry before leaving! Also, iron and hairdryer were supplied when asked for . Thanks to all at satin doll for making our stay so perfect.

Perfect place with wonderful and peaceful surroundings
Visited Satin Doll the past weekend. We were a group of 6 adults and booked 3 rooms but had the whole place to ourselves. It is a wonderful place right beside the Galle road but perfectly hidden away from the hustle of the road. It has a perfect private beach and sweet little pool and a large well maintained garden. The ambience of the place is astounding. The staff and the meals were amazing. They were very helpful and thoughtful. Never did we have to “ask” for anything. They were very proactive and made sure our stay was super relaxing and perfect.

Lovely place by the sea! Amazing Staff!
First hotel I’ve been to in Sri Lanka and hands down one of the most lovely ones. The place is very exclusive. As stated by other people the breakfast is indeed delicious, and you can choose a western style or Sri Lankan (loved it, try it once at least!). The rooms are very close to the sea and its breathtaking views. It’s just so relaxing to sleep hearing the ocean and wake up to squirrels and monkeys around you. The location is great for those looking to explore the south: +-5 min by TukTuk to Unawatuna and around 25 to Welligama/Mirissa (Look out for Saman for a great tuk-tuk driver). You are also within 9-10 min walking distance to Dalawella beach where you can snorkel with turtles (take the road, not the beach). Also GREAT STAFF!!! They are really VERY FRIENDLY and always willing to help as well as have a nice chat. Everyone there was very kind to us (Vivan, Manjuna – the driver, Damith, and literally everyone working there !!).
You have direct access to the beach, take a walk to Dalawella and you won’t be disappointed.
Thank you all for making our stay unforgettable.
