    Amazing stay in Mirissa
We were two families who had a wonderful stay in the house. The staff were fantastic at looking after us and the chef made delicious food. The nature and animals around us were unbelievable….monkeys all around! The pool was relaxing and we spent half the time there and the rest at Mirissa beach a few minutes walk from the house. Perfect location and one of the best places I have stayed in Sri Lanka.

    Wonderful
This place is amazing, the house is beautiful and the staff is the best ever. They make you feel so welcome and take so good care of everything around the house and the guests. We stayed for two days because of low season and bad weather but otherwise we would have stayed longer because everything were so good. We were missing 3 baggage’s from the airport and got so much help from the amazing chef, he was so kind to us. His cooking was very good and we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner very much. Best Daal we have eaten on this trip, recommend you to try that if you staying at Siri Wedamadura.

This place was a highlight of our Sri Lanka adventure.
Everything is amazing here: the huge property with peacocks, monkeys, water monitors, and an amazing dog called Mango. The breakfast and dinner were prepared by amazing chef Gamaga (we gave up on going out for dinner on the second day and asked him to buy and cook tuna, octopus, shrimp, and calamari for us with some potatoes and salad, and it was amazing – way tastier than local restaurants. He also makes amazing soups). The pool is huge and we often had it for ourselves. The beach is a 5-minute walk away. Even the neighbors (the villa has 4 rooms) were always amazing and interesting people :)

The best place to stay at Mirissa
We stayed here for 3 nights and fell in love with this place. The territory is very big, you live like on a jungle with a beautiful garden and also can go on the hill and even can see the ocean view.
The second thing that impressed me was the spirit of freedom, and the home atmosphere. You are like in your private country home, with a modern minimalistic style but still with a history inside.
The chef Manju cooks the best breakfast and always there to be in help. The housekeeper is very smiley and will provide you with the information. The security and gardeners are very pleasant.
There are peacocks, Komodo dragons, local birds, and squirrels living on the territory. So you are filling like you are not in the city.
We highly recommend this place to visit and fill different experiences in Sri Lanka than being at a hotel. Will be back for sure.

An oasis of comfort and tranquillity
This was a very special find, lovely well kept gardens and a superb pool area to relax and read a book. The accommodation was exceptional and very comfortable. The team looking after us could not have been any more friendly and helpful. The chef even sat patiently and gave my wife some cooking recipes to try back home.

Family stay at Siri Wedamadura, Mirissa
Wow! We spent a few relaxing days in this beautiful fully restored colonial villa. The staff were lovely, friendly and catered to our every wish. It was my husbands birthday during our stay and they arranged every detail, down to a delicious dinner and birthday cake. The gardens are truly stunning – lush green and filled with wildlife. Our children loved racing around, climbing trees and swimming in the large expansive pool. Siri Wedamadura is a place you can truly relax and unwind. We’ll certainly be back. Special thank you to the chef Manjula, the food was outstanding! Lauren, Neal and family!

    Wasn’t expecting that! Fantastic!
We visited this absolutely beautiful property as a family and with a few friends in July 2021 and from the moment we drove through the gates we were surprised at how such a beautiful property was hidden away from us for so long. Especially considering we frequent the South Coast as a family. The garden is stunning and as a wildlife enthusiast my partner and I not only loved the birding but we even got a glance of a Jungle cat and heard the vocalisation of a fishing cat! Apart from the wildlife and more applicable to the traveler, the staff we absolutely wonderful, always smiling which is a huge plus in my books, and always helpful and most importantly, not intrusive. A perfect balance of great service and privacy.
The food was fantastic and what I loved the most was how homely it felt. Absolutely fine to walk into the kitchen of “your own” villa say hi to the chef and grab what you like as if you would at home.Of course, the views from the hill at the back garden up the hill were stunning, and looked over the harbor in the distance. Overall a fabulous stay and we believe this property is going to be a regular for us. Thanks so much to the whole team! Best time we’ve had in a long while!

    Elegance and Comfort
We just spent three nights here for a family trip and cannot wait to return. As a family, we are extremely well-travelled and have stayed in multiple villas in Sri Lanka and globally, but this is now a firm favourite. From the moment you enter the gates, you are captivated by the gardens and landscaping. The villa itself has been beautifully restored so as to retain the splendour of days gone by whilst providing the comfort of modern-day living. The staff are superb and I cannot thank them enough as they catered for our every need with a smile whilst ensuring we had that feeling of sole privacy.
The gardens and pool are stunning and it is well worth walking around with the gardeners who are kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Wildlife is abundant with peacocks, pea hens, monkey magic, fruit bats and a resident monitor in one of the garden lake areas – you can cross a bridge onto the central island and simply absorb the nature around you. We were also lucky enough to come across a wild cat within 10 mins of arriving.
Eronika the housekeeper is simply splendid and we left with the feeling that we had made a friend. Manjula is a superb chef and we enjoyed every single meal – and left a few pounds heavier! Mark Wijeratne as the managing agent must also be applauded for his attention to all detail and our comfort. If you are looking for historical splendour combined with modern living and excellent food, this is the place. We will return again and again.

    Authentic Modern Paradise!

Absolutelly amazing place – beautiful, modern, and at the same time – an authentic villa, with large area and nice pool! Great location – only moments from the beach and restaurants.

The house has everything you need. Housekeeper – a very nice woman, always ready to help. The chef prepares amazing local cuisine, as well as any dish that you ask. We learned about 15 types of curry!

The atmosphere here is inspiring – you feel completely rested and ready for new challenges!

    Incredible Experience!

We stayed in villa Siri Wedamadura for 4 nights, it was the absolute highlight of the trip!

The house and garden is stunning, the owners has renovated the property really nicely and take great care of it.

Location wise it’s perfect, a short walk to Mirissa beach (the point break) and shops/ATMs however you’d never think you’re that central, it feels super quiet and calm when you’re in the villa.

I feel so relaxed after our stay, we spend most time hanging out by the pool, reading, walking in the garden, enjoying long dinners. The chef and the staff is fantastic, probably the best food and service I had here in Sri Lanka. They took care of us like we were family and knew how to keep up the standard.

Overall, our stay at Siri Wedmadura was incredible and I hope to be back next year!

    Thank you so much!

    Best Family Holiday

You don’t have to stop travelling to “offbeat” locations just because you have young children. You just need to be smarter about it. Siri Wedamadura was exactly that for our family of four with a 7 and a 10-year-old – smart choice and here is why:

Location – you can embrace the local culture, all the sounds, smells and colours in the heart of Mirissa village. Take a stroll to the fish market early in the morning or book a whale watching tour, have a cocktail on Mirissa beach or treat yourself to a massage at the Secret Root Spa. All of this is within a short stroll from Siri Wedamadura, which saves your family from the stress of street traffic corrida.

Safety – gated and walled residence where you have local staff during the day and a night-watch – afterhours. Around the clock there is someone who speaks the language and knows local customs and “ways” to assist you with any enquiries or during emergency. You also have access to the trusted driver with a safe car, thanks to whom the drive from Colombo to Mirissa was more like a sightseeing tour rather than a nail-biting experience.

Facilities – big rooms with the comfortable netted beds (seriously, first time I did not miss my mattress!). Gigantic pool that is kept clean by the hard-working gardeners – girls spent best part of the day in it which allowed for some grown up conversations and relaxing. Your personal chef will craft the meals (from local cuisine to simple pasta Bolognese) exactly per your instructions – this was a “must have” for us, as my older girl is anaphylactic to dairy and travelling to foreign countries is a nightmare at the best of times. Make sure to ask for the chicken soup and roti! The maid keeps your room clean and does your laundry – first time we came home from holiday with the suitcases full of clean clothes. Bread truck with fresh sweet and savoury selections stops by the lane gate.

Nature – this is the main reason why you cannot compare staying in a hotel to staying at Siri Wedamadura where you have 5 acres of your own private natural reserve. My girls loved waking up every morning to the calls of wild peacocks and monkeys playing in the trees right by the door. You can watch colourful Kingfisher birds, squirrels, dancing peacocks, monitor lizards (girls called the big one “Melanoma” for sunbaking by the pool all the time), tortoise that comes out to enjoy the rain, tribes of monkeys, chameleons and as a special treat – myriads of fireflies putting up a sparkling show right by the front porch every night. When the day is done, and the darkness falls you really feel that you are in the jungle.

To summarize in a brief sentence – staying at Siri Wedamadura made the trip to Sri Lanka one of our best family holidays where timeless ethnic and modern luxury have blended for enriching experience.

    “Beautiful villa in perfect setting”

This is a beautiful villa in the most idyllic setting just minutes walk from the busy Mirissa beach. The villa has just four bedrooms making it feel like a private oasis. The pool is huge and just lovely. Everything was spotlessly clean and very well cared for. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

    “Gorgeous Holiday”

Myself and 7 friends rented the whole house for 11 nights in April. The house and staff were incredible and we all had an amazing, relaxing break. The pool is a beautiful temperature and we spent most days relaxing in the covered pool area or on the beach which is a 400m walk away. The chef prepared us amazing breakfasts and dinners which we all loved – especially the lobster. The housekeeper was extremely helpful and organised taxis for us at a moments notice. The night watchmen and gardeners were all very friendly and helped ensure our holiday went without a hitch.

We had visits daily from a huge group of monkeys which was incredible and chipmunks were always playing around the garden.

The house is stunning and is very well stocked the only issue we had is the 2 bedrooms downstairs do not have air conditioning and the heat was sometimes unbearable at night for 4 of the guests.

    Overall a lovely break!
