Villa Bali Bali is a delightful enclave of three charming 2 and 3 bedroom holiday rental villas. Villa Bali Bali is located in the rural Umalas area, just 15 minutes from Seminyak in southwest Bali. The enclave, which rests on 4,000 m2 of land, comprises a three-bedroom villa with a swimming pool, a two-bedroom villa with a swimming pool, and a two-and-a-half-bedroom cottage with a plunge pool.

Three Bedroom Villa

Stroll down the garden path, past an imposing Saraswati statue emerging from a single piece of wood, and the magic of Bali Bali One’s split-level design is fully revealed. Wedged under the wings of the larger of the two overlapping roofs, a cosy mezzanine-level TV/reading area floats above the large yet intimate, open-to-garden living space. A few steps down is the dining area, beyond which is the western-style kitchen with separate staff entrance. A light, glass-capped corridor lined with fossils and weather-sculpted stone blocks leads off the living room to the guest cloakroom, two guest bedrooms and the master bedroom suite.

The large two-level master bedroom at Bali Bali One is furnished with a four-poster king-size bed and has sliding doors onto a private courtyard. A few steps down, the dressing area opens to an ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower and large circular jacuzzi bathtub overlooking a private garden.

The two guestrooms – one furnished with a four-poster king-size bed, the other with a queen bed – share an ensuite bathroom with twin black granite basins and a large shower. All three air-conditioned bedrooms have warm teakwood floors and soothing mood lighting.

Two Bedroom Villa

Huge stone slabs across lotus ponds fed by a wall of water cascading down the roof lead to Bali Bali Two’s raised entrance, which gives a bird’s eye view of the living area below, and the mezzanine TV corner suspended above. Extending into the side garden, flanked by a roof wingtip and pond, a bright space beneath a large glass roof accords semi-alfresco dining at a table seating four. Discreetly hidden down a corridor is a guest cloakroom and the kitchen with separate staff entrance. Across the living room, hallways lead to the two bedroom suites, one of which opens directly onto the swimming pool deck.

Configured in a fan shape, Bali Bali Two’s large air-conditioned bedrooms are defined by the contours of their roofs. Warm and inviting, with king-size beds, burnished teak floors and rattan-lined ceilings, each room has its unique charm.

The master bedroom has sliding glass doors onto a private garden, and a large ensuite bathroom with shower, granite basin, inset dressing table and sunken terrazzo tub looking onto tropical foliage. The guest bedroom opens directly onto the pool deck. Its large ensuite has twin basins and a garden-view shower. Both bathrooms are air-conditioned.

Two Bedroom Villa

Steps across the lawn of soft Japanese grass lead to Bali Bali Cottage’s pyramid-roofed pavilion and its open-to-garden living room. From this central space, doors open onto a compact yet well-equipped kitchen, single bedroom, delightful garden bathroom, and, artfully concealed behind a panelled wall, steps to a bedroom on the mezzanine level. The living room opens at the back to a small courtyard with dining terrace, from where a covered walkway leads to a plunge pool and second pavilion with master bedroom suite.

The master bedroom at Bali Bali Cottage enjoys the privacy of a separate building linked to the rest of the villa by a sunny courtyard. Two large twin beds, with plenty of space between, are backed by a long display shelf above which hang outriggers from traditional jukung fishing boats. To the side is the ensuite bathroom with shower while, beyond the bedroom window, the plunge pool encourages refreshing dips.

The guest bedroom on the cottage’s mezzanine floor offers a rich cabin-style experience. A double bed is contoured around the sloping roof and surrounded by wardrobes custom-built to the room’s unique shape. A wall of glass, with wooden louvres for privacy, looks down onto the living room, off which is a compact third bedroom with single bed – perfect for a child or nanny. These two bedrooms share a sun-dappled bathroom with twin granite sinks and a shower under a glazed pergola roof.
