Villa Sulanga was super nice, great decor with good choice of colors and very well maintained. Asanka our villa manager and his team were friendly, very helpful and made our stay unforgettable. The chefs did the best Sri Lanka dishes ever and the fish was so fresh, as they got us the daily catch for every meal. The crew at the villa went out of their way to make us comfortable and to enjoy our stay. Always smiling, polite and warm. Our experience and stay at the villa is a 300/100 :) thank you!

We had an issue with the booking process. We had many questions before our departure that were not answered on time and taking several days for the response. I suggest when someone books, to automatically give them a contact number at the villa, so they get all their questions answered. Some of the group were way picky planners and wanted to know what to expect in advance. Ministry of Villas always informed us that the concierge at the villa will touch base with us a week in advance only. Wanted many questions answered before that. I think this should be addressed once a client confirms and pays.

A magnificent slice of paradise on the south coast
Our week at Villa Sulanga rates as one of the best family holidays we have ever had. The villa is large and spacious and the rooms are furnished to a high standard (lovely linens) in a clean and fresh style. There is a beautiful waterlily pond at the front of the villa and large pieces of artwork placed all around. We loved waking up with the upstairs balcony doors open and listening to the ocean at the end of the garden. During the daytime, our children chased peacocks and squirrels in the garden, and at night went hunting for fireflies – magical stuff! The beach directly out the front of the villa is not really suitable for swimming with children, however, we spend many hours exploring the rock pools and enjoying morning and afternoon walks there each day. We spent a few lovely days at Mirissa Beach which is a 20 min walk away down the beach or a 5-minute tuk-tuk ride away. It is much less crowded and developed than Unawatuna or others closer to Galle, and features a stretch of shade under the trees which we found perfect for the kids. The other days we spent at the villa, playing boule under the cashew nut tree, croquet in the front garden, swimming in the very decent-sized pool, and enjoying G&T sundowners which were mixed to perfection. We were blown away by the warm and genuine friendliness of our hosts, Depani, Ranjith, and their team of houseboys, who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we could wish for. Depani is an accomplished cook and our daily feasts of fresh fruit and hopper breakfasts, fresh seafood, delectable curries and homemade ice creams were outstanding. Would we return? In a heartbeat!
