Kouzan Woods Living

Kouzan Woods fuses Japanese minimalism with cosy Scandinavian influences to a stunning effect. The exterior feels like a modern update on the classic Scandinavian cottage with full wall windows injecting sleek modern style. The interiors echo the effortless grace of the architecture with light filled spaces adorned with bespoke furniture in a subtle colour palette. With all three bedrooms housed downstairs and the living areas taking up the entire upper floor, it’s easy to mingle and socialise but also to enjoy some me-time when needed.

Living Room

Two whole walls of the upper floor living areas are taken up by stunning gable windows. This allows the space to be flooded with natural light during the day and also ensures idyllic views of the surrounding forest. Close to one statement window, the lounge area features an elegant white sofa and two matching armchairs arranged around a coffee table and an ottoman. There is also a huge flatscreen TV to keep the whole group entertained on the nights when you prefer to stay in.

Dining Room

The dining area is positioned right behind the lounge area. Here, up to eight guests can gather around a long timber dining table watching as the snow falls outside those beautiful gable windows. A sleek island counter flanked by bar stools separates the fully equipped kitchen from the living areas. Thanks to the open floor plan, the whole upper floor is perfect for socialising after a day spent exploring Niseko’s wintery wonders.

Kouzan Woods Bedrooms

Each of the Kouzan Woods chalets features three bedrooms. These are calm and soothing sanctuaries rendered in light timber and pure white, creating the perfect backdrop for restorative sleep. All three rooms are located on the ground floor. While there are no ensuite bathrooms, there are two bathrooms located on the same floor. One of them features a luxuriant Japanese bath – perfect for soaking those sore muscles after a day spent on the slopes.

Bedroom 1

The first bedroom is framed by generous windows. It features a king-sized bed though this can be converted into two singles if guests prefer. There are closets for storing your belongings and a compact writing desk for breaking out the laptop. The bathroom with the Japanese bath is located right across the hall.

Experience a tranquil ambiance in the modern design of Kouzan Woods, where a charming tatami room faces a large glass window. The high ceiling and ample space make this chalet an ideal retreat for a small family.

Kouzan Woods is gorgeous! The chalets have been designed purposefully to give guests that dreamy feeling – light and airy with sensational views of snowy nature. I recommend renting a vehicle so you can get around quickly and explore the three resorts nearby: Hirafu, Niseko Village and Annupuri.
