It’s all happening and your holidays have finally arrived! You have booked yourself an amazing Seminyak villa, with a fantastic well-equipped kitchen where you can lovingly cook up some meals for your family at your leisure. But then it hits you: where do you actually buy groceries in Seminyak area? Among all of the mini-supermarkets and Balinese convenience stores, there are four major ones that will doubtless have everything you could want.

Bintang Supermarket

Bintang Supermarket is located at the very heart of Seminyak, in Jalan Raya Seminyak. This two-storied shop provides a wide selection of food, beverages, fresh fruits and vegetables, souvenirs and housewares. The superb location and large number of parking spaces make Bintang Supermarket an easy pit-spot to buy any necessities that you require to whip up a storm. If you are lucky, you may even have nabbed a villa set nearby enough so you can even walk back rather than taking a cab!

The first floor of the store offers various dairy products, beverages, fresh fruits and vegetables. There is fresh meat, fish, and seafood in the fridge opposite to the sweets corner (yum!). Imported and local alcohol can be found at the end of the room. The second floor is reserved for any household items, clothes and the must-have necessity for any beach holiday: sandals. Also, here you can pick up a range of typical Balinese souvenirs if you desire.

Carrefour

The French chain hypermarket of Carrefour is also present in Bali. A short drive along Sunset Road and you will appear near a shopping mall with a huge supermarket on the last floor. Here you can find anything you may want or need ranging from sunscreen to large household equipment. Take into consideration that there are usually holiday crowds shopping here, and it is especially heavy on the weekends. Carrefour offers the widest choice of fresh meat and seafood among all of the Seminyak supermarkets. Also, there is a bakery corner where you may purchase delicious croissants, danishes and tarts straight from the oven! A wide selection of local and imported alcohol is also available just behind the cashier.

Besides the grocery shop, the shopping mall includes various clothes and electronic devices stores, and game machines for children.

Carrefour Supermarket Groceries in Seminyak Bali

Pepito’s Supermarket

There are several Pepito’s dotted all over Bali’s main spots, with two of them right in the Seminyak area. Pepito’s is not as big as other two supermarkets, however, you can always find necessities there and also some nice higher-end food items. Toiletries, medicine, dairy products and fruit, along with a few choices of meat and fish, will save you the trouble of the chaos of the hypermarkets or struggling with the queues.

Opening hours and the address of Pepito’s Supermarkets are: daily from 8 am till 11 pm. Jl. Raya Kerobokan, Br. Taman (Pepito’s Express) and Jl. Raya Kerobokan, Br. Umasari.

Grand Lucky Supermarket

Even though Grand Lucky Supermarket is not big, it will provide you with all that you need, so we like it! Located nearby to the main Carrefour, it offers fresh veggies and fruit, dairy and bakery products, and daily fish and meat choices. If you do not want to bother yourself with walking through the labyrinth of stands in Carrefour, just drive through to the Grand Lucky and buy any products there.

Bintang Supermarket and the Carrefour supermarkets offer a wide range of food, and any extra items you may need like sunscreen, as well as all things for the budding MasterChef amongst us! However, if you do not want bother yourself with walking through endless shelves and stands in search for just a few scattered items like some mangos or Greek yoghurt, then head to Pepito’s or Grand Lucky where you can easily find the majority of products and avoid queues.
