We’ve all heard the song too many times to count: What are you doing for New Year’s… Well, if you’re lucky enough to be celebrating New Year’s Eve in Bali, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to fabulous parties and very special events. Here’s our rundown of the best New Year’s events taking place in Bali this year.

Karma Kandara Resort

What better place to start the New Year than at one of Bali’s most fabulous beach clubs – and who better to take celebratory cues from than Jay Gatsby himself? Karma Beach Club is throwing an epic New Year’s bash inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel The Great Gatsby.

The night starts with a gala dinner at the resort’s di Mare restaurant, followed by Karma’s resident DJs and visiting acts spinning tunes down on Karma Beach. Expects glitter, glam, flapper girls and yes, even an appearance from Jay Gatsby himself! If you’re bringing the kids, not to worry. Karma Kandara’s Three Monkeys Kids’ Club will keep the little ones entertained with fun arts and crafts.

Azul Beach Club

It’s no secret that Azul Beach Club is one of our favourite beach clubs in Bali and this stylish bamboo tree house also makes for a fabulous spot for celebrating the New Year. On New Year’s Eve, Azul Beach Club is offering musical entertainment with OVEOUS & QVLN from the US and Morgan Leobet from France. Be prepared to dance the night away and sip some bubbles as the year turns. General admission is priced at IDR 300,000 (USD $22). Keep in mind that all tickets require online purchase.

Cocoon Beach Club

Located right on Double Six Beach, Cocoon Beach Club is one of the most fabulous beach clubs on the island and their annual New Year’s bash is one of the highlights of the year. This year, Cocoon Beach Club is hosting Italian DJ Alex Guesta and it’s set to be a mind-blowing night of Guesta’s signature beats and masterful live percussions.

Guesta has performed with some of the biggest acts in the world, including David Guetta and Avicii, and played at huge festivals like Tomorrowland and Coachella… so imagine what a thrill it will be to see him perform at one of Bali’s best beach clubs! Presale general admission tickets are priced at IDR 300,000 (USD $22) and include two drinks.

The Mulia

The upscale area of Nusa Dua is hardly known as Bali’s party central, but this New Year’s Eve, The Mulia resort has bagged one of the biggest acts on the island. Come New Year’s Eve, British popstar Charli XCX will be taking the stage at The Mulia’s Grand Ballroom. Not a bad way to finish off 2017 and start 2018 with a bang!

W Bali

Nestled along trendy Jalan Petitenget, W Bali is a great place to spend a regular old Tuesday afternoon, let alone New Year’s Eve. Come December 31, W Bali will be hosting superstar DJs Sam Divine and Becky Tong along with the resort’s stellar line-up of resident DJs. W Bali is perfectly positioned to offer five-star views of Seminyak’s famous sunsets – not to mention W’s signature fireworks show.

La Favela

What better place to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Bali – La Favela has the most vibrant dining and nightlife scene. La Favela sits nestled right along Seminyak’s famous Eat Street and offers a magical venue for celebrating the New Year.  The jungle inspired venue will host a DJ line up including Scratchy Cronik, Bull and FNKTSTC. Get ready to dance the night away! The best part? Free entry – though they do offer fabulous packages for those looking to party in style. If you prefer a beachier vibe instead, make your way to sister venue La Plancha’s colourful bean bags waiting right on Seminyak Beach.

Potato Head Beach Club

Potato Head is easily one of the most famous beach clubs in Bali and celebrating New Year’s Eve at this Seminyak hot spot is kind of a no brainer. To ring in 2018 in style, Potato Head is going tribal and hosting a whole array of world class DJ sets.

The main act won’t be revealed until the big night, but Potato Head has hinted that the performer is one half of a Grammy winning duo hailing from the UK. Other performers include The Cuban Brothers and Peter Herbert from the UK. A beachfront bash shrouded in mystery – sounds perfectly Bali to us! Early bird tickets for general admission are priced at IDR 1,000,000 (USD $74) and up.
