Shiyuki Overview
Furano lures die hard skiers and avid snowboarders looking to experience the finest snow on the planet – the snow at this Hokkaido hotspot is said to be even drier and finer than that of neighbouring Niseko. Shiyuki offers enviable access to the white stuff with the chalet positioned just minutes from the gondola… though the chalet does its best to lure you to stay in. Largely encased in glass, the chalet offers beguiling views and lavish comfort that weaves Japanese design with luxe modern aesthetics. The décor is cool, calm and cosy, with plenty of little extras and indulgences to make your stay perfect. Besides its large living areas and four peaceful bedrooms, Shiyuki features a wine cellar, Nespresso machine and floor heating. There’s a garage for parking your vehicle with a heated driveway to boot. Our favourite feature? The Hiba wooden bathtub gazing out to the snowy scenery.

Shiyuki Living
Surrounded by Furano’s perfect powder snow, Shiyuki is a true winter’s haven. This two-storey chalet is a fusion of classic Japanese style and modern western comforts – the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate after an action-packed day on the slopes. Full wall windows, exposed beams and a muted colour palette lend the chalet an irresistibly cosy and calming air, but it’s the thoughtful little touches that’ll really elevate your stay – hello, floor heating and Nespresso machine!
Living Room
The living room is a beautiful light filled space located on the upper floor, with floor to ceiling windows gazing over the surrounding snowscape. The minimalist space is crowned with beams that give the room a modern alpine feel. After a day out on the slopes, nothing beats plopping down on the plush white sofa (or one of the midnight blue armchairs if you prefer) and getting lost in a good movie while the snow falls outside.
Dining Room
The dining area occupies the same glass encased space as the living room. Framed by full wall windows, the timber dining table offers an impossibly scenic setting surrounded by eight elegant chairs. The dining area extends to an open-plan kitchen fitted with all the essentials and indulgent extras, including a Nespresso machine and a wine cellar.
Shiyuki Bedrooms
Shiyuki features four bedrooms. The bedrooms are decorated with streamlined furniture in calm neutral tones, creating the perfect backdrop for restorative sleep. Large windows frame beautiful views of the snow-covered scenery. All four rooms feature heating and air-conditioning and are furnished with king-sized beds which can also be converted into twin beds if needed.
Bedroom 1
The first bedroom is located on the chalet’s ground floor. This room features a king-sized bed (or two singles if you prefer), writing desk, floor to ceiling windows, and closets. There is a shared bathroom right next door which features a bathtub, shower and vanity. A stand-alone toilet is located right down the hall.

Shiyuki Layout
Shiyuki is a four-bedroom chalet that’s built over two floors. The ground floor houses three bedrooms which share a bathroom between them. This floor also houses the garage, dry room and laundry room. The upper floor houses the living and dining room, terrace, powder room, and one ensuite bedroom.
Shiyuki Staff
Your stay is made enjoyable by the professional staff who have been professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly hospitality.
Property Manager
The chalet’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the chalet. The property manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.
Housekeeping
Our chalets in Japan often have housekeeping 1 – 2 times per week depending on the property. Each chalet will have their own cleaning schedule.
Location
Shiyuki is located at the Furano ski resort in Hokkaido, Japan. The chalet offers a sensational setting, positioned just 450 metres from the Kitanomine Gondola. This means you’ll enjoy prime access to Furano’s famous snow – it’s said to be even lighter than the champagne powder you’ll find in neighbouring Niseko. The chalet is positioned closest to the Kitanomine Zone which offers easier runs for beginners and intermediates. Only a bit further off, the Furano Zone offers more challenging slopes for advanced skiers. While Furano is still something of a hidden gem, the area offers plenty of dining options ranging from local Japanese cuisine to international fare.
