Yo Green Restaurant is a hidden veggie gem, tucked in a small lane just of Bangla Road in Patong. The unassuming venue serves fresh vegan and vegetarian Thai cuisine – they even offer vegan ice cream! The menu is very reasonably priced, with most mains priced at around THB 120 (USD $3.6). Natural Efe Macrobiotic World

Natural Efe Macrobiotic World is part restaurant, part health food shop. The venue serves healthy food made using natural organic ingredients, without refined sugar. You can also purchase everything from essential oils to yoga mats and organic grains on the premises. The restaurant serves an organic buffet priced at just THB 300 (USD $9). The buffet is available every Sunday between 12 – 8.30 pm.

Often cited as the one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Phuket, 108 Vegetarian Cuisine is a no nonsense local establishment serving vegetarian Thai food at very reasonable prices. The menu includes local staples ranging from curries to stir fired noodles and soups – the spicy pineapple green curry is particularly tasty. The venue used to be called Kun Na’s Kitchen, so don’t get confused if you see that name pop up in reviews.

Phuket Vegan Naiharn Beach

The name says it all: Phuket Vegan Naiharn Beach is a delightful vegan restaurant located close (though not directly on) Naiharn Beach. The restaurant serves amazing vegan burgers and salads, all made from scratch using fresh ingredients. The owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating – ask nicely and they might just whip up a customised vegan delight just for you. Definitely one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Phuket.

Tantra Indian Restaurant

While Tantra is not strictly a vegetarian restaurant, the Indian menu here includes plenty of options for vegetarians and meat lovers alike. The generous menu includes authentic Indian classics like samosas, curries and tandoori roti. Tantra is a great option for groups of mixed diets and centrally located on Patong Beach.

Santosa Vegan Restaurant

Santosa Vegan Restaurant is part of the Santosa Detox & Wellness Center and offers and immersive experience in wellbeing. The acclaimed restaurant serves modern vegan and raw cuisine. Most of the ingredients used are sourced locally with a heavy emphasis on oganic produce. The venue offers amazing views of the Andaman Sea while dining, making this one of the most scenic vegetarian restaurants in Phuket. Santosa offers a vegan buffet every Saturday starting at 6.30pm.

King Liew

Need a break from Thai cuisine? Head to King Liew in Phuket Town. This laid-back vegetarian establishment serves pizza and pasta as well as the obiqutuos Thai curries and stir-fries. King Liew is very reasonably priced, with prices for main starting at around THB 50 (USD $1.5). The venue has a no nonsense façade, but if you dare to venture inside, you’ll be treated to a great meal at a terrific price.

Don’t Miss – Phuket Vegetarian Festival

If you’re looking for a huge of vegetarian food in Phuket, it’s best to visit the island during the annual Phuket Vegetarian Festival. The festival is not a commercial event, but an important festival of the local Chinese community which follows the lunar calendar.

The colourful festival sees the Chinese community following a vegetarian diet for 10 days for spiritual purification. This means the streets are lined with stalls selling vegetarian food.

Phuket Vegetarian Festival also includes temple ceremonies and rituals that might seem gruesome to outsiders, including fire walking and blade ladder climbing. Whether you’re looking to sample local vegetarian food or simply want a colourful dose of local colour, Phuket Vegetarian Festival is not to be missed.
