Tropical Living
Villa Tjitrap was inspired by the historic Huis Tjitrap in Java and the famous black and white houses of Singapore. Designed by Ross Franklin, the villa takes these historic references and elevates them to meet exacting modern standards. The property is gorgeous and the staff are wonderful. They made us feel right at home and kept the whole villa in immaculate condition.
We were a large group staying in the villa and there was more than enough room for everyone to spread out and get comfortable – as you can see in the reel below.
Fabulous Dining
Villa Tjitrap is surrounded by restaurants, so you don’t really need a chef when staying here. As we were a large group and wanted to indulge, we arranged a chef to prepare a feast for us.
We had a family style meal with large dishes placed at the centre of the table. The dining area is huge, and it felt wonderful to have everyone gathered around that massive table and share all this amazing food.
So Much Space Throughout the Villa
Villa Tjitrap can host up to 14 guests so obviously, the villa offers oodles of space. We loved having large living areas where we could all hang out together as well as these smaller nooks where we could steal away to enjoy a little quiet time. The media room is perfect for hosting a movie night and the poolside bale offers a wonderful place in the shade. The villa even has an office room if you need to catch up on some work.
6 Bedrooms, Including Bunks!
The villa’s six bedrooms are very cleverly designed. All rooms feature king-sized beds which can also be split into two singles if needed. This offers great flexibility for friends or siblings sharing a room.
In addition to the four bedrooms located in the main house, there are two rooms housed in a separate pavilion by the pool. These two rooms are perfect for families as they interconnect, so you can pop over to the next room without having to venture outside. One room even has a lofted bunk area positioned above the main bed so you can keep the kids close by.
Meet You by the Pool?
One of the many highlights at Villa Tjitrap is the gigantic swimming pool. The pool is perfect for swimming some laps, with plenty of sun beds and a lovely gazebo scattered around it. When you need it, the villa’s interior offers the most refreshing break from the tropical elements.
While the villa offers plenty of entertainment, there’s also so much to see and do in the local area. The villa is tucked in a quiet lane just off Jalan Drupadi, about a 10-minute walk from all the restaurants lining Eat Street. The beach is about 20 minutes away on foot – we loved people watching while making our way down.
