Our team were invited to stay at the one and only Villa Praison in Layan, Phuket.
Facing west, this Thai haven has some of the most breathtaking views of Andaman Sea we’ve ever seen and the most incredible palm-fringed sunsets. From the moment we walked through the front gate, we were enveloped in a world of tranquility with gorgeous views and beautiful gardens.

The living area, adorned with Chinese antiques, adds a touch of sophistication and creates an atmosphere that complements the gorgeous ocean views. The careful selection of these pieces enhances the overall aesthetic, making the space not just a living area but a gallery of exquisite treasures. In fact, we were delightfully surprised to find Villa Praison featured in several of the antique and architectural hardcover books in the living area!
The harmonious blend of contemporary comfort and traditional aesthetics extends into each bedroom and every corner of the villa. Furnishings have been chosen with precision, making every area uniquely graceful.
Fun and Games
The games lounge adds another layer of enjoyment to the overall experience at Villa Praison. It’s not just a space; it’s a hub of entertainment where the entire group can come together. Whether engaged in friendly competition of pool or watching a movie together in the generous media nook, the games lounge offers a fun and laid-back atmosphere.
Outside the games lounge is an enormous infinity-edge swimming pool with sweeping views of the tropical garden and Andaman Sea.
Dining To Die For
With a skilled private chef at your service, Villa Praison caters to all palates and preferences. Whether you’re in the mood for Western delights, Thai flavours, vegetarian dishes, or have specific requests and dietary requirements, the chef at is more than willing to cater to guests’ specific needs.
The freshness of the ingredients used in the dishes is a testament to the chef’s commitment to excellence. She visited the market every day to ensure freshness of every meal – quality takes precedence here and we were incredibly grateful.
One of the remarkable aspects of the dining experience at Villa Praison is the affordability. The use of oils and sauces on hand, rather than procuring everything anew for each group, not only contributes to the sustainability of the culinary practices but also results in a cost-effective dining experience. This thoughtful approach ensures that guests not only savour exquisite cuisine but also do so without breaking the bank.
Over the course of three days, we dined like kings, relishing in a gastronomic journey that mirrored the opulence of the villa itself. The chef’s willingness to accommodate special requests and dietary needs adds a personalised touch to the dining experience, ensuring that every guest’s preferences are met with enthusiasm and skill.
Secluded Location
Villa Praison is in Layan in Phuket, Thailand. The villa is located within an exclusive estate and offers lush tropical views and ocean vistas from its clifftop position. The villa is located next door to the fabulous Trisara Resort and just a hop and a skip from the beautiful Banana Beach, a hidden treasure known only to those who have uncovered its secluded beauty. This idyllic haven is a well-kept secret in Phuket.
Saying Goodbye
I believe the villa is half the reason guests return and the other half is the villa team. The staff are lovely and so willing to help us during our stay. I felt like a family member more than a guest which was lovely and made it hard when it was time to leave.
