As excited as you may be looking at the at the pictures of the stunning Villa Tangram online after having booked, it is only upon entering the villa that will you realise that pictures cannot do this holiday wonderland justice.
Villa Tangram is literally your own slice of paradise in Jln. Drupadi, right at the corner of Eat Street. It is a place where you step in and relish in the fact that you shall not be wanting to leave the villa for your entire trip. This brand-new open property is ideal for families and friends travelling together, and the precedent needs to be set that enjoying pool parties is mandatory for everyone! This massive five-bedroom gem can be connected to its equally attractive neighbour, Villa Abakoi, to create an 11-bedroom option if required. For larger groups, you can also rent the traditional beauty of Villa Tiga Puluh, a 7-bedroom property two doors down, to create an epic 18-bedroom option across all three residences.
Exotic Tangram
The staff brought us on a guided tour of the property, introducing us to the rooms and all the modern facilities of the villa. The owners had just completed the property in February 2016 and you can still smell the fresh scent of wood in the rooms.
There are six bedrooms at Villa Tangram – three bedrooms come furnished with double beds, two with twin beds and the last bedroom is designed to be a kids haven. Specially designed for children, this room boasts bunk beds that sleep up to four comfortably. All rooms come with large ensuites and the one we stayed in had a lovely indoor shower and outdoor bathtub.
What we especially loved about the property was the unique décor. The owners were definitely well travelled as the paintings and art pieces were helmed from various parts of Asia. For example, the key rings were oriental Chinese designed, while the art on the walls looks to have come from different parts of Africa with tasteful paintings of exotic animals such as cheetahs and wild horses.
The pool was extremely tempting – we spent many afternoons laying by the pool bale. The pool has a shallower, wading area that was also suitable for children.
Breakfast in style
The staff at the villa provide you with an order form to place your breakfast request the day before. Against your name, you can tick the choices provided – either an Indonesian or Western meal. The beauty of this ‘order chit’ is that it does not matter who gets up first or last, let the staff know your name (they will already remember you!), and they refer to to it and serve you the meal you have requested at the appropriate time when you sit down. Service was an exceptional plus all around.
What’s next door
Villa Tangram is situated in a quiet enclave with rice paddy fields at the end of the street, yet still in the heart of Seminyak. It is a stone’s throw away from the beach and numerous internationally acclaimed shops and eateries such as the trendy Kilo. Ku De Ta is just a 15-minute walk away.
