Blue River Chalets Overview
The Blue River Chalets are modern, elegant and oh-so comfy. These semi-detached chalets offer everything you need for having a good time in Hakuba, including a stellar location in Echoland: it only takes a minute or two to reach the main dining strip. The chalets are very flexible and cater to different groups. Each of the chalets is self-contained and features two bedrooms, so they’re great for small groups and families. If you’re travelling with more people, you can book both chalets to create a four-bedroom property. Whichever option you choose, you’ll be treated to irresistible modern comforts. The chalets are fitted with hydronic underfloor heating, Nescafe coffee machines and Sony smart TVs. With the slopes just five minutes away, it only makes sense that the chalets both come with dedicated ski rooms fitted with boot dryers. Nice!

Blue River Chalets Living
Blue River Chalets have a light and modern feel to them. The interiors rely on fresh white tones, with touches of vibrant teal giving nods to the property’s name. Floor to ceiling windows only add to the luminous quality of the chalets and with the living areas housed upstairs, you’ll be treated to beautiful views of Hakuba’s snow-covered landscape throughout the day. The two bedrooms are housed on the ground floor and as they are very equal in size, no one has to settle for a lesser room.
Living Room
The living room is housed upstairs. The space is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows which bring in an abundance of light and lovely snow-covered views. The lounge area features three teal-coloured sofas arranged around a 55-inch smart TV mounted on the wall. Bose speakers complete the cosy setup.
Dining Room
The dining area is incorporated to the living room which takes up the entire upper floor. The dining table is sleek, black and modern and it’s surrounded by six matching chairs. The dining area is framed by a streamlined white kitchen fitted with all the essentials, including an AEG cooktop and a Nescafe machine.
Blue River Chalets Bedrooms
Each of the Blue River Chalets features two bedrooms. The bedrooms are quite equal in their size and furnishings so there is no need to fight over top billing here. The light and airy bedrooms are located on the ground floor. They are furnished with a king-sized bed each, though these may be converted into two singles if needed. Each room is adjoined by an ensuite bathroom.

The first bedroom is located on the ground floor. It features either a king-sized bed or two singles – whichever suits you best. The room also features generous closets and an ensuite bathroom fitted with a shower, vanity and toilet.

Blue River Chalets Layout
Blue River Chalets are a pair of semi-detached chalets. Each unit is self-contained, and the layouts mirror each other. In each unit, the two bedrooms are located on the ground floor while the upper floor houses the living and dining areas.

Property Manager
The chalet’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the chalet. The property manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.
Housekeeping
Our chalets in Japan often have housekeeping 1 – 2 times per week depending on the property. Each chalet will have their own cleaning schedule.
Location
Blue River Chalets are located in the Hakuba ski valley in Japan. The chalets are located in a peaceful community of chalets in Echoland, just a 200-metre stroll from the main street. This is where you’ll find all the yummiest eateries and cosiest cafes in the area. Hakuba is home to 10 ski resorts with over 200 runs for skiers to explore. The Happo One ski lifts are a quick five-minute drive away, while Hakuba 47 and Goryu can be reached in about 10 minutes.

This property was a pleasant surprise. Modern, efficient, cost effective, convenient to several of the local ski areas. Daily housekeeping. Walkable restaurants even in the snow. Cheerful safe neighborhood. Sleeps 4 really easily, 6 if you use the pullout couch upstairs. Bathrooms are very well set up. Ideal. Normally can find something to complain about but the owners and managers do a really good job with this one. In floor heating, modern appliances.

We enjoyed our stay. The place was clean and amenities were modern and worked well. We had a comfortable stay and would certainly recommend this place. Communication was also very proactive although there was a slight misunderstanding on our side thinking we needed to wait for them at check in and didn’t realize they had already given the PIN code. One thing we didn’t realize from the listing is that the place is spread over 2 floors. Thankfully the bedrooms are on ground floor so we didn’t have to lug it up the stairs. Overall the host was very responsive and we had everything we needed for the stay which was a very comfortable one.

Blue River Chalets exceeded my expectations and, being in construction and hospitality, that’s hard to do.
Floor to ceiling, the finishes are well thought out. The appliances and cookware were phenomenal for a rental and the space worked perfectly for our group.
The location was perfect as well. It’s central to the restaurants and bars without being too close to them and a great distance to all the resorts. Just a 2 minute walk to catch a shuttle as well.
We’d definitely try to stay here again when coming back to Hakuba.

This place is exactly as pictured and was a delight to stay in for 4 days while snowboarding in Hakuba. Mountains are a 5-10 minute drive away but the actually town where the place is is very walkable with tons of bars, restaurants, coffee shops and retail. One of the most unexpected perks was Jason & Fumiko’s drivers who picked us up several times a day to take us to the mountains or pick us up. Great experience and can’t wait to go back!

The rooms were comfortable and perfect for my small family of four. The apartment was cozy, spotlessly clean, and conveniently located with many great restaurants nearby. It was a very pleasant stay. You can wash away your sweat in the shower, and the bath is a natural hot spring that you can walk to. There are many restaurants within walking distance, and access to various activities is excellent.
It was the best base for playing in Hakuba.
