CAMELLIA HILLS

The estate’s history reaches back to the 19th century when Dunkeld Estate was established on this very spot. Some seven decades later, the plot was bought by a Sri Lankan family whose descendants later built Camellia Hills. That the villa comes with such rich history and has been a labour of love shines through in everything, from the serene ambiance to the impeccable furnishings and from the spellbinding surroundings to the superb service. It’s one of those rare places that seem to exist beyond space and time.

Living Room

Located on the upper floor, the living room opens to a scenic terrace and offers the most amazing views of the valley below. The space captures the historic charm of Sri Lanka, featuring classic furniture and elegant textiles all rendered in harmonious shades of white, cream, beige, and brown. As the fresh mountain air wraps around the villa, there is nothing better than settling down on the sofa to enjoy the warm glow of the stunning stone fireplace.

Dining Room

You can enjoy your meals in the dining room located next to the living room.

Garden & Pool

Camellia Hills is set on a gorgeous plot that overlooks the Castlereagh Reservoir. From this elevated vantage point, guests enjoy gorgeous views of the mountain range and the lake shimmering below. The sleek swimming pool invites you in for a dip, while the neighbouring gazebo is an idyllic spot for sipping some Ceylon tea. Surrounded by lush greenery and exotic flowers, the setting is as beautiful as it is private.

Camellia Hills features five bedrooms. The bedrooms are beautifully harmonious, featuring classic furnishings, a calm colour palette, and breathtaking views of the surrounding region. All rooms are well appointed with fans, mosquito nets, safety deposit boxes, and equipment for preparing coffee and tea. One of the rooms is adjoined by a smaller bedroom, making it ideal for parents wanting to keep the kids close by.

Camellia Hills is a five-bedroom villa that’s built over two floors. The villa features an enclosed living and dining room, large veranda, five bedrooms (all of them ensuite), private swimming pool, and large gardens.

Villa Manager

Camellia Hills’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. The villa manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.

Housekeeping

You didn’t think you would be expected to clean while enjoying time off did you? All of our villas include housekeeping to tidy up the villa, arrange the laundry services, wash up and simply make sure you don’t lift a finger whilst on holiday with the family.

Butlers

Butlers are on hand everyday to assist with serving during meal times and attend to other guest requirements throughout your stay.

Chef

The villa’s skilled private chef will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children’s suggestion menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements.

Security

It’s nice to know you have security and many villas will have full-time guards or night time security available. Additional security can also be arranged if the villa doesn’t include any in the daily rate.
