Escarpment House Living
This is Japanese minimalism at its most elegant. On the outside, Escarpment House is unapologetically sleek and streamlined. Once inside, the minimalist approach continues to a stunning effect. While the rooms offer every modern comfort you might crave, there is nothing over the top or ostentatious about this stylish chalet. This clean aesthetic allows the spellbinding views to take centre stage – there is nothing quite like curling up on the sofa in your glass encased living room, watching as the snow falls outside and Mount Yotei looms in the distance.
Living Room
The living room is a stunning, glass-encased space positioned on the upper floor. The room is surrounded by full-wall glass and a generous balcony that runs the full width of the chalet. The room feels like a private gallery – the natural landscape is like an ever-changing work of art. There’s a sleek white sofa and matching daybed to relax on and a flatscreen TV vying for your attention. Below the TV, a streamlined fireplace adds a warm glow to the space. If you need to catch up on some emails or the kids need to hit the books, there’s a nice wide workspace positioned to the side of the room as well.
Dining Room
The dining room is also incorporated to the upstairs living room. A light timber dining table surrounded by six high back chairs is positioned next to the glass doors, ensuring serene views of Niseko’s treetops and mighty Mount Yotei while you dine. A sleek granite island separates the dining area from the kitchen, which is fitted with all the essentials.
Escarpment House Bedrooms
Escarpment House features four bedrooms. The bedrooms are decorated in light neutral tones, with statement walls rendered in dark timber adding some depth and character. There is great flexibility here as all the beds can be set up either as kings or two singles based on your preference. There are three bedrooms on the ground floor and one bedroom is housed upstairs.
Bedroom 1
The first bedroom is located on the ground floor. It features a king-sized bed which can also be set up as two singles – whichever suits you best. Sara O’Shea –
The views are spectacular! The villa looks out to the forest and a running creek bed which in the winter is dreamy. Comfortable property with all but one bedroom on the entrance level. The living room and kitchen is upstairs which is the ideal set up if you have kids who need to go to bed while the parents are upstairs. I highly recommend hiring a car to get to Niseko and this will give you easy access to this villa in the lower Escarpment.
