Gen Myo Overview
Whether you’re viewing Gen Myo from the outside or from within, it’s easy to see why this chalet has garnered several awards for its design. The architecturally ambitious chalet is built in serenely stunning Western Hirafu, only moments from Niseko’s best ski slopes and restaurants. From the outside, it’s impossible not to be impressed by the bold design where three linear structures are connected through beautifully designed “bridges” and crowned with alternating sloping roofs. Once inside, the ease and flow of the space will entice you right on arrival, with every room lined with full wall windows framing exquisite views of Mount Yotei.
The most sumptuous way to soak up the scenery is while immersed in the chalet’s sunken hinoki bath which resembles your own private spa. Yet another manifestation of the chalet’s visionary design are the bedding arrangements which allow this four-bedroom chalet to accommodate up to 12 guests with ease: three ensuite bedrooms come with an extra loft space each and one tatami bedroom can accommodate three guests on futon mattresses. So tally up your guest list and pack your skis – Niseko awaits!

Gen Myo Living
Garnering special mentions from Architizer A+ Awards and Architecture MasterPrize, Gen Myo is every design afficionado’s dream come true. The bridges that connect the chalet’s three blocks make the already unique linear layout all the more inspiring. Though the design is impressive on all fronts, the most winning element is the way the chalet fits into its surroundings. Gen Myo’s angular shapes complement the surrounding landscape beautifully, while the full wall windows and the terraces which run the full length of the chalet ensure that you’re always exposed to mesmerising views of Mount Yotei, no matter where you are in this masterfully designed house.
Living Room
The living and dining room is a gorgeous space flooded with natural light thanks to floor to ceiling windows which also provide sensational views of Mount Yotei. At one end of this fluid space, the plush contours of a black leather sofa are beautifully juxtaposed by the sleek angles of a futuristic coffee table. The sofa faces a large flatscreen TV which is flanked by a woodburning fireplace. The setup is perfect for cosying up on a cold winter night. For a more intimate setting, you will find a cosy reading nook (complete with a study desk in case you need to dive into your inbox) on one of the bridges which link together the chalet’s three distinctive wings.
Dining Room
At the centre of the open plan living room sits a long wooden dining table surrounded by minimalist white chairs. Positioned beneath the beautiful vaulted ceiling and right beside the floor to ceiling windows, the dining table invites guest to gather up for meals while admiring stunning panoramas of Mount Yotei. A sleek island counter separates the dining area from the open plan kitchen which offers all the essentials needed for preparing meals and après-ski snacks.
Gen Myo Bedrooms
Gen Myo features four bedrooms. Three of these are full ensuite bedrooms complete with a loft space that can sleep one extra guest. The fourth bedroom is a traditional Japanese tatami room with three futon mattresses. The three bedrooms are housed together in their own wing, while the tatami room is situated next to the living and dining areas.

Gen Myo Layout
Gen Myo is a four-bedroom chalet that consists of three distinct wings which are connected through “bridges.” The first wing houses the garage and from here, the chalet’s entrance welcomes you to the open-plan living and dining room housed in the second wing. This wing also houses the tatami bedroom. The third wing houses the remaining three bedrooms and a standalone bathroom complete with a large sunken bath.

Location
Gen Myo is located in Niseko’s West Hirafu in an area known as Kabayama. This is a beautiful, nature-bound setting where the chalet is surrounded by silver birch trees and neighboured by a natural spring which gurgles right on the property. The views looking out to Mount Yotei are simply sensational. Gen Myo is ideally positioned within a 10-minute drive from both Hirafu and Niseko Village ski resorts. Hirafu is Niseko’s largest ski resort, known for its versatile slopes and fun restaurant scene, while Niseko Village offers the high-end feel of a private resort and some of the longest ski trails in the area. There are plenty of great dining options in both resorts. Additionally, the ever-popular Lupicia restaurant is less than five minutes from the chalet.
