JH Villa Living
JH Villa offers the best of Sri Lanka in one fell swoop. What was once a Portuguese colonial estate has been transformed into a modern villa which maintains the estate’s historic charm and integrity. The gardens are an event onto themselves with palm trees, water features, orchids and bird song surrounding a sparkling private pool.
Living Room
The villa is centred around the living room, which is cooled by ceiling fans. The room features white sofas and cool tiled floors and the doorways feature beautiful wooden carvings.
Dining Room
The living room extends to the formal dining area, where a dining table sits overlooking a beautiful lily pond. The fully-equipped kitchen includes a double fridge, freezer, wine cooled, stove and oven.
Garden & Pool
The villa’s lush gardens include water features, orchids and vast lawns. The centre piece is the 15-metre pool, which is surrounded by 12 sun beds and six parasols. There’s an open-plan pavilion which works as an alfresco dining room and is a great spot for practicing yoga. The villa sits within a five-minute walk of the beach where guests have access to a private beach house. The house features a sitting area, kitchen and guest bathroom with great views of the ocean. The beach itself has white sands and offers great swimming conditions.

JH Villa is centred around the spacious living and dining room, with doors opening to the villa’s main entrance. The villa features five bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. The villa has a 15-metre long swimming pool. Guests also have access to JH Beach House; an exclusive beach bungalow located a five-minute walk from the villa.

Your stay in JH Villa is made enjoyable by the professional staff. JH Villa’s staff have been professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly hospitality.
Villa Manager
JH Villa’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. The villa manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.
Housekeeping
You didn’t think you would be expected to clean while enjoying time off did you? All of our villas include housekeeping to tidy up the villa, arrange the laundry services, wash up and simply make sure you don’t lift a finger whilst on holiday with the family.
Butlers
Butlers are on hand 24 hours per day to assist with serving during meal times and attend to other guest requirements throughout your stay.
Chef
The villa’s skilled private chef will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children’s suggestion menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements. There is a three-course set menu each day for lunch or dinner costing USD $23 per person per meal. Guests have a choice of two starters and two main courses and dessert. There is also an à la carte all-day dining menu. We can also organise a beautiful lunch at JH Beach House, prepared by our chef (booking in advance advised). The chef and his team are flexible – if you let us know of any special requirements pre-arrival, we will be happy to accommodate you.
Security
It’s nice to know you have security and many villas will have full-time guards or night time security available. Additional security can also be arranged if the villa doesn’t include any in the daily rate.
Location
JH Villa is located in Habaraduwa on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. The villa sits within a five-minute walk of a great swimming beach where guests also have access to a private beach house – JH Beach House. The villa is located just 10 kilometres from the UNESCO protected Galle Fort and you can reach the famous Handunugoda Tea Estate in a 25-minute drive.

Luxurious Villa near the beach
JH Villa is luxurious enough to satisfy a rock star. Each suite has its own sitting and dining room, plus balcony. All are a short walk from an immaculately kept and warm swimming pool (which you can enjoy with your choice of music played through nearby speakers).
The villa is about 500M from its own Indian Ocean beach. This is an area where turtles come to breed in season. There are interesting attractions nearby in Talpe and Habaraduwa and the old colonial city of Galle with its famous fort, Test cricket ground and excellent restaurants is a 15 minute drive away.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff when we stayed there. Sampath and his team looked after us extremely well.
We strongly recommend JH Villa as a base for the Galle coast.

We spent a week at this absolutely stunningly luxurious villa. Having been tipped off by a friend that it had been newly renovated and was under new ownership we decided to take the plunge and book a week here. Just wow what a place it is spectacular! Great location, the beach is a minute away and there is even a beach house available just down the road. Ultimate luxury, everything to the highest spec….the rooms, the pool, the food, the whole setting. A word about the staff too….they are all wonderful. We have already booked our return visit!

The main villa is just 200 meters away from the Indian Ocean; however, they have a little private beach house right on the where guests can go and enjoy their day time by the beach.

This villa is such a delightful place for idyllic holiday. It is perfect for families, groups of friends, ideal for honeymooners or couples wishing for the romantic and pleasant staying. The hotel/villa is very nice and stylish. Rooms are comfortable, well equipped, with all the necessary supplies, clean and cozy. The staff is extremely kind, polite and welcoming. The food is very delicious and the service is nice. All the spaces in this villa are very appealing and convenient. The villa is suitable not only for passive holiday making, but also is great for events, private parties, weddings, etc. The pool area is just perfect and lovely. The hotel has its own so-called “beach house “ which is a private area on the amazing sandy beach (with sunbeds, towels and shuttle service from the hotel and back).
This villa is a real oasis everyone will fall in love with! Great location, blissful surroundings, it offers everything you need!

Honeymoon of dreams
It’s had to describe just how beautiful JH villa is but ill give it my best.
Myself and my husband were lucky enough to spend time here as a second honeymoon and although the villa can sleep a lot more than just 2 people we never felt like it was too big, its got the warmth and cosiness of a intimate accommodation but the grand uber luxury feeling of something really special.
The Pool area is by far the icing on the cake an amazing space to entertain or just have a day to chill. Monkeys frequent the gardens and you wake up to the sound of peacocks. Its high tech too, each room with its own iPad controlling the music, lighting etc there is a button for everything!
Tucked away behind private gate it feels like you’re in a world of your own, truly peaceful and luxurious every detail has been carefully curated. It is close to its own private beach too!
The heart of this stunning villa is the team who run it. Sammy the chef’s cooking is just exceptional, (ask for his crab curry you won’t be disappointed!) Malan’s smile in the morning, afternoon and evening makes you feel at home and there is nothing the team here won’t do to make sure your stay is the best. We even had a wonderful 6 day trip around Sri Lanka organised for us.
Would i go again? in a heartbeat!

Beyond Luxury, Beyond Beauty

This is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever been to. The design, decor, and service were outstanding. I got much needed rest, watched monkeys play for hours, spent all day in the pool when I could and felt close enough to ‘town’. The nearby beach is gorgeous and the turtle hatchery is worth a visit.

Beautiful time in Sri Lanka
Spent the most beautiful time in Sri Lanka in the fantastic JH Villa surrounded by the most luxurious garden. The snacks at the pool at sunset prepared by the cooks were absolutely divine and it was hard to leave the place for a tuk-tuk ride to Galle Fort. Back home all the Staff and Managers made the most to create an exclusive atmosphere of well-being and kindness. I will surely come back to enjoy also the Beach House and the catch of the day from the fisherman nearby.

So glad we found this Villa.
We booked in here at the last minute after finding our original booked accommodation simply unacceptable.
The rooms are beautifully presented with quality furniture and fittings.
The pool area is fantastic and it is a five minute walk to the beach if you want a change of scenery.
This is not a hotel but truly a Villa. Only six rooms and staff there to help with whatever you need
Sammy the head chef, yes there are two staff there to prepare you meals if you want, is a very good chef. The food was magnificent and Sammy catered specifically for my wife’s allergy to sulphites and vinegars.
As it is a Villa, there is no bar, but some drinks available. We bought some beers down the street and put them in the kitchen fridge.
This is five star accommodation that is well worth the experience.

Stunning Boutique Hotel
We had the extraordinary good fortune to have booked a 2 night stay at JH Villa at the end of our 11 night Sri Lankan holiday. Without a doubt, this is one of the nicest boutique hotels we have ever stayed in, in all our years of travel. The decor is beautiful, beds extremely comfortable, staff are attentive and unassuming and the pool area is simply remarkable. It feels like the owners have thought of every single small detail in this property. The beach is just a short stroll away and access is easy at the JH Beach House. The food is excellent, from pastas to keep our kids happy to authentic Sri Lankan curries. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer.

JH Villa is an extraordinary, special place. My boyfriend and I had a truly unforgettable stay here. It is the most exquisitely beautiful oasis and the high expectations I had were completely exceeded. The tranquil grounds are the perfect spot to relax with only the sounds of the monkeys and plethora of other tropical wildlife for company. The rooms are exquisitely appointed and I don’t know where to begin in praising the staff for their incredibly warm welcome and for looking after us so attentively. We could not have been better catered for – Sammi’s meals were just outstanding and the warmth and friendliness of all of the staff will stay with us always. We can’t wait to return!

Wonderful place. It is a gorgeous building with beautiful gardens and pool. Chef cooks delicious food and everyone looks after you so well. And if you can year yourself away, the beach (with a private beach house) is 5 mins walk away and the fun of Galle fort isn’t far in a tuk tuk.

AMAZING
What can I say- this is better than a 5* hotel. We have traveled a lot, so know What we are talking about!:)
We stayed for 5 days, but could easily stay longer.
The property are so well kept, lovely surroundings with peacocks, monkey and lovely garden. The swimmingpool are superb.
The villa it self is lovely- we stayed in the Jade room. Spacious, lovely interior and very clean (all days)
The chef are so good- we love food, and this is one of the best food experience we have had. Did so much to please our pallets, from breakfast, lunch to Dinner. Fresh and perfect flavours.
The other staff is also very good and did everything to make this a perfect vacation. Gave us excellent service. Plyed with our children (age 1,5 and 3,5 years old). The the dogs are the sweetest. The manager himself guided us in Galle.:)
The Villa has its own beach house – that was lovely. Unfortunately the waves was to big for us because of the kids. But they drive us to Wijaya beach, wich is protected with the reef. We could also swim with turtles:)
We want to come back and would recomend it to everybody.

“Absolutely stunning”
We stayed at this magical villa for just 3 nights but wish we could have stayed longer . It is set in 3 acres of immaculately tended gardens, the pool is spectacular , and the villa itself is beautifully designed. The bathrooms are very light and bright and each room has a wonderful verandah to sit and relax. The highlights are the lovely staff who make you feel completely spoilt.
It really feels like a very luxurious friends house 2 lovely well behaved dogs who accompany you everywhere..! We only had dinner once , but it was lovely , delicious homemade curry and really nice wine All this , and just a short walk to the beach ! It is a very special place and would highly recommend it, Can’t wait to return.

“Unforgettable stay at JH Villa!”
What a fabulous stay we have had at JH Villa! The house is splendid and surrounded by the most wonderful lush gardens. Waking up to the sound of birds (and monkeys), spotting peacocks, watching monkeys swinging around the beautiful mango and jackfruit trees – and you’re 5 mins away from the beach!!!
The staff were lovely – warm and hospitable – the kind of hospitality you only get in Sri Lanka. Our little 2 yr old could not get enough of the verandas, the pool cabanas, Togo the lovely lab and what he called “running in the jungle!” It’s evident this place has been carefully restored by an amazing owner who has invested more than just money and time.
A fantastic place – and we will definitely be back! A big thank you to Mr Warne and his team for making our stay special. Keep up the good work!
