Kalkudah Beach House Living
Kalkudah Beach House is a blissful place to be. You feel away from it all in the best possible way – it’s hard to believe you get to have such a beautiful place all to yourself. The surroundings are obviously stunning, and the architecture and décor only add to the villa’s beauty. The white villa boasts beautiful arched windows, grand columns, and spiral staircases; the rooms are adorned with curated textiles and furniture. This villa truly feels like a haven.
Living Room
When it’s time to relax and mingle, you can retreat to the beautifully styled living room in the main house or opt for the smaller lounge room over in Palm Villa. Both rooms are decorated with exceptional taste, showcasing classic furniture, rattan pieces, eclectic textiles, and contemporary art. There are ample sofas to lounge on and beautiful views to marvel at – what more could you ask for? We also love the open-air lounge in the pool house which offers direct views of the beach.
Dining Room
There are several scenic spots in this sprawling villa where you can gather up for fabulous meals. The most appealing option is arguably the pool house which boasts a large dining table that’s fit for an entourage. The main house and Palm Villa each host a smaller dining area which are perfect for more relaxed and intimate meals. Then again, you might prefer to sip your morning coffee out on your private patio…

Tucked to the back of the property, the open sided pool lounge invites you to shoot a game of billiards while also enjoying the tropics.
Garden & Pool
It’s hard to overstate just how spectacular the villa’s surroundings are. Set amidst a 25-hectare coconut grove, the villa is shaded by swaying palm trees and hugged by expansive lawns. The highlight, however, is the heavenly stretch of beach waiting in your backyard. Stretching for several kilometres, you will find no crowds or loud beach clubs here – just the sights and sounds of the wild ocean. When you’re not frolicking in those salty waves, you can luxuriate in the villa’s sumptuous 22-metre-long pool which is wonderfully accessible (think wide steps, gentle ramps, and thoughtfully placed railings). The pool is surrounded by chic sunbeds and flanked by a breezy pavilion where you can wine, dine, and lounge in style.
Kalkudah Beach House Bedrooms
Kalkudah Beach House features five bedrooms. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated, marrying together classic Sri Lankan elements and sleek modern aesthetics. The rooms are quite spacious (ranging from 33 m2 to 72 m2) and they all offer views of the beach. There are three bedrooms in the main house and two are housed in the Palm Villa.

The first bedroom is located on the upper floor of the main house and features a stunning balcony that looks over the beach. Inside the room you will find a king-sized bed and a lounge area. The ensuite bathroom features a shower, twin vanities, and a toilet.

Kalkudah Beach House Layout
Kalkudah Beach House is a five-bedroom villa that’s divided into four buildings. The main building houses the living and dining areas on the ground floor, along with two bedrooms. There is one more bedroom on the upper floor. The second pavilion, or Palm Villa, houses two more bedrooms with a lounge area positioned between them. The villa has a 22-metre-long swimming pool which is flanked by an open plan living and dining pavilion. The fourth pavilion is a breezy open sided billiards lounge.

Your stay in Kalkudah Beach House is made enjoyable by the professional staff. Villa Kalkudah Beach House’s staff have been professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly Sri Lankan hospitality.
Villa Manager
Kalkudah Beach House’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. The villa manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.
Housekeeping
You didn’t think you would be expected to clean while enjoying time off did you? All of our villas include housekeeping to tidy up the villa, arrange the laundry services, wash up and simply make sure you don’t lift a finger whilst on holiday with the family.
Butlers
Butlers are on hand daily to assist with serving during meal times and attend to other guest requirements throughout your stay.
Chef
The villa’s skilled private chef will happily prepare anything from the Western, Sri Lankan, vegetarian and children’s suggestion menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements.

It’s nice to know you have security and many villas will have full-time guards or night time security available. Additional security can also be arranged if the villa doesn’t include any in the daily rate.

Kalkudah Beach House is located on Kalkudah Beach on Sri Lanka’s blissfully undiscovered east coast. The villa is set amid an expansive coconut grove with direct access to a deserted paradise beach. It’s the perfect place for truly getting away from it all and immersing yourself in tropical beauty. The nearest city, Batticaloa, which is about 40 minutes away, is home to a centuries old Dutch fort. Passekudah Bay, a popular spot for snorkelling, is about 15 minutes away.

OMG where do I start? We absolutely loved our stay in this beach house! The views looking out to the palm trees with the water in the distance; the manicured gardens; the style and design of the villa are all incredible. The team do a wonderful job looking after guests and have created a warm and relaxing environment for guests.
The meals are delicious and the chef can cook! We had the best breakfast of our trip and would come back just for the French toast.
Highly recommend visiting the East Coast of Sri Lanka but make sure to stay a few days.

A tranquil refined elegant place to stay right on the beach
On a 25 day tour and the stay here has been one of the highlights. Just 5 suites so a peaceful oasis of tranquility. The staff are attentive without being intrusive. There are no TVs in the rooms but many books in multiple languages. There is an excellent WiFi service that beats WiFi I have experienced at larger resort hotels. The staff are very happy to adapt to suit one’s requirements.
Waleed was ever available for assistance with his excellent team. A particularly enjoyable experience was the cooking experience where the excellent chef took me through preparing a veritable feast of crab curry with half a dozen vegetable curries and of course a symbol which one then eats. There is western and Sri Lankan food available at every meal depending on choice.

An absolute fabulous experience. This place is so beautiful and the hospitality is amazing. World class service and a 5 star service. The gardens, the rooms and furniture, the coconut estate, the pristine beach, it’s all superb!
The restaurant is also an absolute must! While Sri Lankan food is fantastic, as a foodie, I was struggling to find gastronomic fine dining experiences. This place made up for it. If Michelin were to do a review of Sri Lanka, this place would definitely be mentioned. The chef has a lot of international experience and manages to bring the Sri Lankan food experience to a very high level.
