We had an amazing stay at Katy Stay in Ahangama. The beachfront location is beautiful, offering stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as expected.
The team was very responsive and always ready to help whenever needed. A special mention goes to Gayan, who was absolutely incredible as both a caretaker and chef. His hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. If you’re feeling tired and don’t want to go out for a meal, there’s no need to worry—Gayan will take great care of you with delicious food and excellent service.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend Katy Stay to anyone visiting Ahangama. We are already looking forward to coming back! 😊🏖️

Our stay at this beautiful villa in Ahangama was truly exceptional. The housekeeping was flawless—everything was maintained perfectly throughout our visit, making the experience incredibly comfortable and relaxing. The staff were attentive, professional, and always on point, ensuring that every detail was taken care of seamlessly. Their hospitality really made us feel welcome.
The absolute highlight, however, was the chef Gaya. The fish and crab dishes were hands down some of the best we’ve ever had—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection every single time. It was a perfect SriLankan culinary experience that elevated our entire stay.
Highly recommend this villa to anyone visiting Sri Lanka and looking for luxury, comfort, and outstanding service.

Lace House was a lovely place to stay. The staff (Dayan the chef and ShanT the cleaner) were so amazing at making our stay easy. The food was sensational and catered for everyone with no fuss. Plus great staff who guard the front gate and clean the garden every morning. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was nice for a comfortable nights sleep. Plenty of places to eat within the area and much help given by staff to organise trips and airport transfers.
I would totally go and stay again.

We had a fabulous stay at the Lace House. The villa is in a great location near Weligama and Ahanagama so we had lots to do during our stay, there are also a few good restaurants and bars within walking distance.
The villa itself is stunning, right on the water and we loved watching the surfers every day. What really made this such a special stay were the staff. Shanta who helped on the house and kitchen was so kind and helpful and lovely to my kids. Gayan the chef made us the most amazing meals during our stay, we would plan meals with him and he always over delivered, it really made our stay and we have already booked to come back again.

Our time at this property in Ahangama was simply perfect! The location couldn’t be better: situated right in front of the surf spot, only about 2 minutes to a beach sheltered from the sun, and less than 5 minutes by tuk-tuk to the center of Ahangama.
The house itself is beautiful, very well maintained, and designed with great attention to detail. You feel comfortable from the first moment. We would particularly like to highlight the incredible hospitality of the entire team – everyone is extremely accommodating and goes to great lengths to fulfill every request.
A truly special highlight was the food: Chef Gayan and Housekeeper Shantha really pampered us with their culinary creations. This is our fourth visit to Sri Lanka, and we have rarely eaten as well as we have here. Every meal was a delight!
We are already looking forward to our next trip to Sri Lanka – and we are certain that we will come back to this very place again. Highly recommended!

Our stay at the Lace House was simply wonderful. From the first moment, we felt completely welcome and well cared for. Gayan and his assistant in particular, with their warm nature and attention, made sure that we lacked nothing.
Fresh water was always available, as well as refreshing coconuts around the clock. We were spoiled daily with delicious fruits and excellently prepared menus – every meal was a pleasure.
We enjoyed our time there very much and were completely happy. The location is also ideal: With the tuk-tuk you can reach all destinations quickly and easily.
Barbara
The villa is beautiful, location perfect, the highlight is the kindest and super skilled staff, who took care of us in a brilliant way. everything as described or even better..
We can’t wait to be back!

This is the most beautiful house in Ahangama. Such a peaceful place and the house is in perfect condition. The service from Gayan the cook and the cleaners was also fantastic. Will book again!
Amanda
We had a great stay for a family of 5 at Lace House – our children are 21, 19 and 15 and this place worked really well for us. As some others have said the house and location are better than can be described in photos.
The chef Gayan and his assistant did a great job looking after us. We did in house breakfast and a combination of in house and restaurants for dinner. We had an amazing whole fish one evening along with traditional Sri Lankan curry dinners including egg hoppers.
We are not surfers but the break from the back gate looked great and we did take a couple of dips at low tide but also explored local beaches by tuk tuk (a couple of AUD$) along with coffee shops (there is a great coffee shop across the road and new fancy restaurant). The sunset from the rocks is also amazing. Yes there are mozzies as with the rest of Sri Lanka so bring your Aeroguard. We spent evenings sitting outside playing cards and games, reading and listening to the surf. Highly recommended.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Lace House! The pictures of the villa and the views it has to offer don’t do any justice. It was a quiet, spacious & an extremely serene place to stay in!
Beautiful interiors, plush rooms with direct access to the veranda, skylights everywhere & the superb outdoor seating. I really couldn’t recommend this place enough. The direct access to the beach was the cherry on top.
The villa is pretty easy to navigate & right on the main road. Being in the middle of Ahangama & Weligama, everything was close-by as well; nothing more than a 5-10 minute tuk tuk ride to either town.
Katy, Udaya & Gayaan have all been so so hospitable & warm with us. A special thanks to Gayaan for truly going above & beyond for us and making sure we were comfortable.
I highly recommend this stay to everybody considering coming to Ahangama/Weligama
