Sahama Overview
This cool and cosy chalet is impossible to resist. Sahama sprawls over 440 square metres and packs in all the creature comforts you could ask for – though the chalet’s charm goes far beyond mere convenience. The two-storey chalet has been designed with impeccable taste and feels so inviting that you could swear there’s some actual magic involved. The upper floor is dominated by a fantastic living room – we’d venture to say it’s one of the best common rooms in Niseko. Graced by huge windows, exposed beams, and a lofty high ceiling, this is a space to gather with your loved ones and enjoy the warmth while the snow falls outside. There are six bedrooms to snooze in, a Japanese bath for relaxing soaks, and beautiful details and design elements waiting around every corner. If you’ve been searching for a large chalet that ticks all the boxes – and we do mean all of them – this is it. Check out the pricing for Sahama here.

Sahama Living
Wow! Sahama offers that rare mix of fine design and cosy comfort. From start to finish, this chalet is a triumph, offering all the mod cons and fun extras you could ask for amid Niseko’s famous pow. Exposed beams and sky-high ceilings lend a sense of grandeur, while the extensive use of timber adds warmth and comfort. Every piece of furniture is a winner, and the colour scheme is stunning – we love the mix of wood, white, and deep teal. This is a chalet to fall head over heels for.
Living Room
Sahama’s living room is simply stunning. Housed on the upper floor, this massive space is crowned with a beautiful, vaulted ceiling and framed by angled windows gazing out to Mount Yotei. While the space feels near majestic in its proportions, it also captures the warm feel of a mountain lodge. There is a generous arrangement of sofas and chairs angled toward a flatscreen TV, with a sleek fireplace positioned just below. The TV-fireplace-combo also works as a clever space divider between the lounge area and the dining table. When weather permits, you can also spend time out on the adjoining balcony.
Dining Room
Positioned on the other side of the TV/fireplace is the chalet’s impressive dining table. This beautiful timber number is surrounded by 12 chairs and illuminated by beautiful bauble lights hanging above it. The kitchen, which sits just behind the dining area, is a real eye catcher thanks to its rich, teal-coloured cabinets. Besides aesthetically pleasing, the kitchen is also very functional. There is a great island in the middle and plenty of bench space on the sides as well.
Media Room
If you’re looking forward to a night spent stretched out on the sofa, make your way to the media room waiting downstairs. This cosy space has a great teal blue sofa positioned in front of a well-sized TV, with full wall windows reminding you of all the pow waiting outdoors. Besides generous bookshelves and well-designed desks, this room also features the chalet’s most unique design element: a lifelike bear holding its own pair of skis mounted on the wall!
Sahama Bedrooms
Sahama features six bedrooms. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished, mixing warm timber with shades of white and teal, with whimsical posters and artwork adding a unique touch into each room. Sam Chandler –
So, we decided to treat ourselves and booked what can only be described as a *mansion* in Japan. Seriously, this place is so big I half-expected to find a hidden room where they filmed a reality show about hoarders. You could lose a small child in the hallway and still have time to finish your tea before finding them!
Let’s talk about the kitchen. It’s equipped for a Michelin-star chef, but I’m just trying to figure out how to microwave last night’s ramen without setting off the smoke alarm. I swear, I found more cutlery than I’ve ever owned in my life, and I’m pretty sure some of it belonged to a samurai. Who needs a sword when you’ve got a giant spoon, right?
The bathrooms? Oh boy. There were so many toilets, I felt like I was in a bizarre game show called “Choose Your Throne!” They even had heated seats—great for a winter visit, but I’m pretty sure I almost got a third-degree burn while trying to figure out the bidet controls. I left feeling cleaner but slightly traumatized.
And the garden? It was a mini jungle! I half-expected a wild boar to pop out and demand tribute. I tried to take a leisurely stroll, but instead, I ended up wrestling with a rogue shrub that clearly had a vendetta against me.
All in all, if you’re looking for a place that feels like you’re living in a sitcom, this is it! Just prepare yourself for the sheer size of it all—and maybe bring a map. You never know when you’ll get lost between the “dining room” and the “ballroom” (yes, it had both). Would I stay here again? Absolutely—if I can recruit a small army to help me navigate the place! 😂🏯

I personally love it here. Me and my family come to stay here every winter and sometimes during the summer. I love it every time and in my opinion is the best place in Niseko to stay.
