Each room of this restored 19th-century bungalow is completely one of a kind, filled with carefully curated art, antiques, furniture, textiles, and wallpapers paying homage to rich Sri Lankan heritage. Living Room
Where to begin! Sinhagiri Mansion is graced by multiple lounge rooms, each one more imaginative and artistic than the last. The safari themed great room features black sofas with leopard print cushions, ornate carpets, floral armchairs, billiard table, ming vases… and so much more. Then there’s the red room with its leather seats, roaring fireplace, and endless collection of art – not to mention the kimono room which is literally filled with traditional Japanese kimonos.
Dining Room
The dining area is just as ornate as the rest of the villa, inviting guests to indulge in elaborate feasts served in the most inspiring setting imaginable.
Garden
Sinhagiri Mansion is surrounded by beautiful green gardens with serene views gazing over Lake Gregory. You can promenade on the lawns or enjoy a relaxing cup of Ceylon tea on the shaded verandas – both are wonderful ways to take in all the beauty that surrounds.

Sinhagiri Mansion features two bedrooms. Each room is uniquely designed and deliciously opulent, boasting a plush king-sized bed, beautiful fireplace, and vanity desk, with ornate textiles and wallpapers adding a further sense of grandeur. Each room is adjoined by an ensuite bathroom.

This room is known as the Parrot Suite thanks to its vibrant, jungle-inspired wallpaper. The room boasts a beautiful king-sized bed, lounge furniture, vanity desk, and a fireplace. The ensuite bathroom is fitted with a shower, vanity, and a toilet.

Sinhagiri Mansion’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. The villa manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.
Housekeeping
You didn’t think you would be expected to clean while enjoying time off did you? All of our villas include housekeeping to tidy up the villa, arrange the laundry services, wash up and simply make sure you don’t lift a finger whilst on holiday with the family.
Butlers
Butlers are on hand daily to assist with serving during meal times and attend to other guest requirements throughout your stay.
Chef
The villa’s skilled private chef will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children’s suggestion menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements.

It’s nice to know you have security and many villas will have full-time guards or night time security available. Additional security can also be arranged if the villa doesn’t include any in the daily rate.

Amazing Accommodation in Nuwara Eliya – One of Sri Lanka’s Most Unique Hotels!
We had read that staying in a historic bungalow was a great option for accommodation in Nuwara Eliya. But there are “bungalows” and then there is SinhaGiri… The spacious bungalow has been entirely remodeled into a fascinating “cabinet of curiosities” villa. Located above town, there are only two guest rooms. This means you truly feel like guest and not a hotel customer. Only two guest rooms… however an array of other rooms. From the swank lounge to the smoking room and from the seductive dining room to the huge great room, where I could image the coolest “Great Gatsby-esque” party being held! Each room has a stylish and eclectic decor, coupled with excellent luxury amenities. We were cooped up inside due to the rain, but didn’t mind at all since it’s such an incredible place. Tea in the lounge, then after the refined dinner you can retire the Great Room, next to the cozy fire or have a game or two of billiards. SinhaGiri is worth a trip to Sri Lanka in itself. Thank you for the incredible stay and we hope to be back soon!

A real highlight in Nuwara Eliya
If you are interested in something off the beaten path, this is it!!!! Incredible colonial style villa next to the horse race, beautiful views from garden and veranda. BUT the best is inside, library, music room, huge salon with 2 big billiard tables. Not to forget the fantastic dining room. And all this for only 2 majestic bed rooms. All rooms are decorated in a splendid way with art work, hunting trophies……
We enjoyed delicious sri lanka food, wonderful attentive service and couldn’t get enough from relaxing in front of one of the chimneys while always discovering more special objects, like the original kimono collection.
Don’t miss this place.
