Sumeru Estate Living
Designed by Maximilian Jencquel of Studio Jencquel, the villa’s architecture draws on classic Balinese elements. Guests enter the property through Balinese double doors (or angkul-angkul), while the main house is a luxurious interpretation of a classic long house known as bale agung. Balinese culture is rooted in an unbreakable bond between man, nature, and the gods. It’s a thread that runs through this exceptional property as well: no matter where you are in the villa, there is a constant, undeniable connection to your heavenly tropical surroundings.
Living Room
The living room is a beautiful space filled with natural light and tropical views. Occupying the upper floor of the main house, the room is crowned with a vaulted ceiling and decorated with elegant earthy tones. There are artful artefacts everywhere to further root you into your Balinese surroundings. A generous seating area with a large sofa and armchairs will help bring everyone together, and with no TV to distract you, you can really enjoy each other to the fullest. Another appealing option is to gather on the large sofa outside on the balcony and swap stories as you gaze over those magical jungle views.
Dining Room
Also located upstairs, the dining area offers those same dreamy views looking over the lush Balinese jungle. The square dining table can comfortably seat 10 guests, with beautiful woven light fixtures and antique artefacts adding a sense of mystery and wonder to the space. The villa’s fully equipped kitchen is cleverly hidden behind a partition wall, allowing you to either cook your own meals or leave all the culinary endeavours to the villa’s skilled staff.
Garden & Pool
Magical, serene, and otherworldly are just some of the words that describe the villa’s lush green grounds. The villa sits on a sloping plot that’s bordered by a calm Balinese river, with botanical gardens inviting you to wonder around, marvelling at fresh fruit, flowers, herbs, and vegetables sprouting right on the premises. The best place to gaze over your own tropical kingdom is the villa’s sleek 20-metre-long infinity pool. The ample terraces provide a serene setting for sipping cold drinks or a cup of tea, watching as the jungle settles in for the night.

Sumeru Estate is a hidden gem in the heart of Ubud. As soon as you enter, you feel like you’ve stepped into a true paradise. The entire decor gives you a sense of peace and tranquility. Kenneth and the team are fantastic. They take care of everything you need, and Tami’s culinary creations are delightful. Everyone was amazing.
Our favorite spot was by the saltwater pool. Under the patio, there’s a beautiful daybed where you can enjoy the most stunning view — birds bathing in the water and the sounds of all the nearby wildlife. Everything was perfectly arranged, and we truly found peace in the otherwise bustling Ubud. What a treat! Definitely a place to return to. Highly recommended — a solid 12 out of 10!

Had an amazing family stay here. The villa itself is a perfect place, a secluded retreat but perfectly located in the heart of Ubud. Every corner is eye pleasing. The staffs are really friendly and accommodating. Foods are delicious. Such a relaxing place where you get well taken care of. Nothing to complain. We really enjoyed our stay here and can’t wait to come back!

This place is magical. Entering over a platform with a pond underneath with a botanical garden around it. Then entering the large open living room with an overview of the jungle. Looking out over the valley from the pool your thoughts come to rest.
The house radiates peace and tranquility. The service is very professional and sweet, Tami the chef makes the most delicious dishes with fresh vegetables from the house’s own garden. The house has several terraces where you can relax or do yoga.

What a place… Wow!
We had a wonderful family stay for two weeks in Ubud in january. The beautiful house, the tasteful interior with Balinese art, the location, the garden and above all the staff exceeded our high expectations. What you expect from a high end place and then even better! Every day We were surprised by the X-factor of the people in and around the house!
We enjoyed the surroundings, had very nice hikes in the ricefields and to Ubud with lovely cafés and restaurants along the way. Great to sleep in the dark nights with all the tropical sounds and heavy january rain!
Unforgettable to see the look ons the face of our children when we arrived late in the evening and entered the gate, the bridge over the pond and finally the living room, the pool and the spacious bedrooms! We’re still enjoying!!
Thanx for the great memories! We hope to come back!
