The Sa House Living
The Sa House is a labour of love and an astonishing testament to Sri Lankan craftsmanship. The villa stands on the remains of an over 80-year-old home which the owners transformed into the holiday retreat of their dreams. While the villa feels fresh and modern, it also plays homage to its roots; most notably in the living room which still maintains one of the original rock-and-clay walls as a focal point. The Sa House is a very special place where modern design, rich heritage, and wild natural beauty all come together to create a symphony.
Living Room
The living room is a beautiful fusion of old and new, with elegant modern furniture framed by an impressive wall salvaged from the original structure. The room features a plush white sofa and matching ottoman, with two plantation chairs offering even more seats. Thanks to pivot doors, you can open up the space to enjoy a fluid connection to the garden or close them to relax in air-conditioned comfort. The room also features a 150-inch projector screen that’ll take your movie nights to the next level.
Dining Room
The dining room is another elegant space framed by full wall windows looking out to the garden. A round timber dining table surrounded by six cane back chairs sits at the centre of the room, inviting guests to gather for relaxed meals. Glass doors separate the dining area from the kitchen tucked to the back of the room, allowing guests to dine in private while the staff prepares the next course in the kitchen.
Garden & Pool
The villa’s surroundings are absolutely magical, with dreamy palm trees arching over picturesque paddy fields. In fact, the estate once housed a cinnamon plantation and is now home to a thriving orchard where you can spot jackfruit, mangoes, coconuts, and other tropical fruit hanging off the branches. A 17-metre-long pool dazzles at the centre of the garden, inviting guests in for a refreshing dip amid all that gorgeous greenery. The pool also features a shallow section that’s ideal for children. Double sun beds framing the pool invite guests to perfect that golden holiday tan.
The Sa House Bedrooms
The Sa House features three beautiful bedrooms decorated with calm colours and high-quality furnishings. Located upstairs, the rooms feature king or queen-sized beds, ensuite bathrooms, and scenic balconies looking over the pool and garden.

The first bedroom boasts two Juliet balconies and benefits from views looking over the pool and out to the surrounding paddy fields. The room features a king-sized bed, work desk, seating area, and his-and-her wardrobes. The ensuite bathroom is fitted with a shower, twin sinks, and a toilet.

The Sa House Layout
The Sa House is a three-bedroom villa that’s built over two floors. The ground floor houses the living and dining areas. The three bedrooms are housed upstairs along with a library room. In case you need to catch up on some work, the villa also has two study rooms. The villa features a 17-metre-long swimming pool and vast tropical gardens.
The Sa House Staff
Your stay in The Sa House is made enjoyable by the professional staff. The Sa House’s staff have been professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly Sri Lankan hospitality.
Villa Manager
The Sa House’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. The villa manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.
Housekeeping
You didn’t think you would be expected to clean while enjoying time off did you? All of our villas include housekeeping to tidy up the villa, arrange the laundry services, wash up and simply make sure you don’t lift a finger whilst on holiday with the family.
Butlers
Butlers are on hand daily to assist with serving during meal times and attend to other guest requirements throughout your stay.
Chef
The villa’s skilled private chef will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children’s suggestion menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements.
Security
It’s nice to know you have security and many villas will have full-time guards or night time security available. Additional security can also be arranged if the villa doesn’t include any in the daily rate.
Location
The Sa House is located in the village of Ginigala in southern Sri Lanka. Located in a peaceful cul-de-sac, the villa offers a tranquil setting surrounded by tropical gardens and picture-perfect palm trees. The villa is located about 5-10 minutes from beautiful Talpe Beach which offers soft golden sand and picture-perfect scenery. The beach road is also dotted with some great restaurants. The historic Galle Fort is about 20 minutes away and the same goes for the Ahangama surf breaks.
