I had an amazing escape with my friends at Villa The Sanctuary Bali.

The villa resort had a traditional Balinese design with modern amenities and spacious living areas. We enjoyed the pavilion and lounge area overlooking the infinity pool and the beauty of the lush surroundings.

The bedrooms were luxurious. The large bathrooms are stunning. It was nice to relax and enjoy the peaceful retreat energy there.

One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional service. The team went above and beyond to ensure that our every need was met. From the warm welcome to the attentive care throughout our stay, their hospitality was truly outstanding, not to mention the amazing food! They arranged everything for us. It was a breeze!!

An unforgettable experience. Definitely a memory we will not forget

A perfect ten out of ten experience! We were at Villa The Sanctuary Bali for a wedding with 120 guests and it proved to be one of the best villas we have ever stayed in around the world. The attention to detail in every way was truly remarkable. The service provided by the 24/7 cheerful staff, who were always smiling and happy, was nothing short of exceptional.

What struck us the most was the sheer size of the property, which exceeded our expectations. The infinity pool and Jacuzzi, open living spaces, generously-sized bedrooms and bathrooms, and vast gardens and lawn areas were even more impressive in reality than the photos online could convey. Super spacious for partying and a backdrop like in a fairytale.

Putu and The Sanctuary team truly outdid themselves, and we are already planning our return visit. We extend our best wishes to the entire team for their outstanding efforts in making our wedding experience unforgettable.

In March, we stayed at the villa the sanctuary for 5 nights for a wedding, and we were absolutely impressed with the quality of the amenities, bedrooms, and staff. The service was impeccable and the staff went out of their way to help us in every possible way. They were always available to assist us whenever we needed anything. Additionally, the cleaning staff was very thorough and discreet, timing their cleaning when we were out of the rooms. The villa grounds were also meticulously maintained, and everything was presented perfectly.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay, and the wedding was nothing short of superb. Our heartfelt thanks to the entire family at the sanctuary for a memorable experience.

Magical Wedding
Villa The Sanctuary Bali is simply a stunning villa resort. We were part of a group of guests coming from Australia and the US, invited to a wedding celebration that lasted 5 days, so we had the pleasure of staying at the villa resort for 5 nights!

The delightful staff literally made everyone feel like royalty. Putu and Salam manage the villa with a service oriented approach beyond anything we have ever experienced before. Salam handles daily operations and is ‘on call’; we had a WhatsApp group to communicate and it was just amazing. The whole villa team made sure we had everything we wanted.

Salam provided us with daily dining suggestions and the in-house chefs cooked us the most delicious meals with fresh ingredients they had bought that day or the night before, in the case of breakfast. Whatever we requested, they made it for us, whether it was part of their standard menu or not!

The wedding planner and her staff were very sweet, super well-organized, and the wedding was a major success! A party with 75 guests that we will never forget!

I can only highly recommend Villa The Sanctuary Bali for any wedding celebration! We had the best time of our lives and brought back memories that will last a lifetime.

Our daughter had her wedding at The Sanctuary, and all the guests stayed here for anywhere from 5 to 14 days between January and February 2023. The accommodations were extremely luxurious and private, and the staff led by Putu and Salam were exceptional! Not only did they provide top-notch service, but they also provided great recommendations for areas to visit and explore on the island. The chef prepared meals that were of 5-star restaurant quality, and no one ever went hungry! The in-house wedding planner and her team did an incredible job for the wedding, making the day effortless for the bride, groom, and our families. Overall, we had an amazing experience at The Sanctuary, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for exceptional accommodations, top-notch service, and an unforgettable experience.

I rarely leave reviews, but I’d really like to express my heartfelt appreciation to ALL THE EMPLOYEES at Villa The Sanctuary Bali! Putu, Salam, and their entire team were all incredibly nice and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were cozy. The maintenance of the property was superb, a true 5-star private resort. They exceeded my expectations in many ways, particularly also with the food! Another thing that I haven’t experienced before was the personal driver we had, who took us to all the great spots nearby.

I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. The staff’s energy and spirit were commendable! They were all super flexible with everything (including the rescheduling of our stay) and I know that I will see the same level of dedication when I return with new people ;) Thank you for your hard work, and keep up the excellent job!

Simply Amazing
Thank you, Villa The Sanctuary in Bali, for making this the most amazing family holiday ever! We do these family retreats every-so-often, about 30 of us and this has definitely been the best one yet!

Upon arriving at this villa resort (it’s not just a big villa with 10 bedrooms, it’s actually a 22,000m2 piece of property with 10 individual rooms!!) we were all blown away by the idyllic location in this picturesque Bali tropical setting. The pictures of this villa resort were great, but seeing it in person was a whole other level! The master bedroom alone is the size of an entire house and has its own pool.

The staff was super friendly, Putu and Salam were always around to assist us and plan our meals. Major compliments to the chefs, the food was amazing (unlike in some other expensive hotels and resorts). Another culinary highlight was the poolside bbq next to the infinity pool with integrated jacuzzi :)))

We found our experience at Villa The Sanctuary Bali to be the most wonderful travel destination in Asia. We know luxury villas, and this is one of the best tropical getaways that we have found so far. Situated in an exceptionally private tree-lined landscape, spacious and modern, 10 bedrooms plus billiards lounge and media room with TV, DVD, DJ system, indoor and outdoor surround sound, wireless internet throughout the villa, and even in-room iPod docking stations.

Pro tip: buy your liquor at duty-free and bring it along, they don’t even charge for corkage!

Our stay at Villa The Sanctuary Bali was absolutely magical. From the moment we arrived, we were mesmerized by the lush jungle surroundings and the impeccable service. The rooms were spacious and beautifully designed, providing a comfortable retreat for our group of 20 adults and 8 kids.

The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the gourmet food prepared by the in-house chefs. Each meal was a masterpiece, with flavors that delighted our taste buds and presentation that was truly Instagram-worthy. The fact that they recommended we bring our own liquor was a wonderful touch that added to the overall convenience as they didn’t charge us any corkage fee. That really gave us the feeling that they have our best interest in mind. We also loved the infinity pool, the poolside BBQ, and the car service that took us to nearby beaches.

All in all, Villa The Sanctuary Bali is a true paradise that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, outstanding service, and gourmet indulgence. We can’t wait to return for another unforgettable escape!

Our 7-day stay at Villa The Sanctuary Bali was nothing short of spectacular. From the breathtaking views to the first-class service, true luxury, and superb food, this villa exceeded our expectations in every way. Our family and friends were blown away by the amazing time we had. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the staff and their exceptional service. We miss their smiling faces around us during the day, and we appreciate how they went above and beyond to make our time unforgettable.

Putu and Salam were particularly helpful in coordinating all our needs. We also enjoyed the great quality food that was reasonably priced. The 35-meter pool with a built-in Jacuzzi was a true highlight, and we appreciated the billiards room with a pool table and bar as an additional space to relax and enjoy our vacation. Villa The Sanctuary Bali is the perfect place for families seeking to share the Bali experience while ensuring that they have their own space. A huge thanks to the staff for making our time in Bali extra special. We had an excellent experience in paradise and we will definitely be back!

I recently stayed at Villa The Sanctuary Bali with my family to celebrate my dad’s 50th birthday, and it was an experience we will treasure forever. From the moment we booked in 2019 for a 2020 holiday (which had to be postponed multiple times due to unforeseen circumstances), the villa’s team was incredibly accommodating and responsive, ensuring our stay in March 2023 was seamless and memorable.

The villa itself was absolutely stunning. Nestled in a lush jungle setting, it felt like a fairy tale paradise. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, providing ample privacy and relaxation for our group of 25 adults and 7 kids. The service was impeccable, with the staff going above and beyond to cater to our needs and make us feel at home.

One of the highlights was the breathtaking infinity pool, where we spent countless hours enjoying the panoramic views and soaking up the tropical ambiance. The poolside BBQ was a hit, allowing us to indulge in delicious grilled fare while surrounded by nature’s beauty. Additionally, the convenient car service provided by the villa took us to the nearby beaches just 10 minutes away, making our exploration of the area hassle-free and enjoyable.

The entire experience at Villa The Sanctuary Bali felt like a dream come true. It was a perfect blend of luxury, serenity, and adventure. I have had the most appalling experience with this villa over the past few years in planning my wedding there.

I booked the villa for a 5 day stay in Sep 20 for my wedding. I asked to book for 6 rooms and was erroneously charged a 50% deposit for 10 rooms. We also paid a 50% deposit on all of our wedding related costs via the onsite wedding planner (owner’s wife).

When covid broke out I reached out to the owner in Feb 20 about my concerns because I didn’t want to waste money on flights that might be cancelled and he refused to move the dates. It wasn’t until Jun 20 that we were allowed to move dates and by then we weren’t allowed flight refunds.

We were informed by the villa that we’d need to pay a 25% penalty rate to move the dates even though the villa was shut during the period. They offered an extra night’s accom to compensate and we would be able to move the dates again if required. We reluctantly agreed and moved our wedding to May 22. At this stage we didn’t pay the penalty rate as we hadn’t been ask to.

However, by Jan 22 covid restrictions were still place. We didn’t want to move the wedding again as our own financial circumstances had changed a lot by this time and we’d already gotten married in a small ceremony. We reached out to the villa about getting a partial refund for cancelling both the accom and wedding. We thought this was fair since we wouldn’t be using them and it would just be profit for them and the vendors.

Unfortunately, they refused. I then asked for a refund for the overcharging of the rooms. Even after I showed the email from the owner to prove the error they still refused. We tried our best to propose compromises but they were unyielding.

Eventually, in April 22 they agreed that we would be able to transfer all the credits to another party. We’d lose the extra night as we hadn’t paid the penalty fee. Only caveat is they had to be transferred to one party and couldn’t be sold separately. I have emails from both the villa and wedding planner confirming this.

I spent the next year advertising my credits on FB sites and spoke to numerous people. Most were put off as they only wanted to purchase the credits separately and didn’t want to use the onsite planner.

Finally in April 2023, someone contacted me on FB noting that they were already looking at the villa for their wedding, so they were interested in the credits. I sent her the details and she reached out to the owner to confirm. The owner then flat out denied my ability to sell the credits.

I reached out to his wife and she responded that she’d forgotten our arrangement and asked me to confirm whether the wedding had been cancelled or put on hold. I reminded her that I cancelled my wedding but that I could transfer the credits and emailed her screenshots of our past correspondence confirming this.

The owner then sent an email to myself and the interested party noting that I had no rights to sell the credits, just use them myself. He denied that any agreement had been reached to sell the accom credits, just the wedding credits. When I sent him emails contradicting this he then claimed that they accepted my right to resell all the credits but when I cancelled the wedding that right was gone.

This was the most bizarre logic. The only reason I was selling was because my wedding was cancelled. Also an email from me to his wife in Apr 22 specifically noted that I would not be signing the cancellation agreement since I wanted to transfer the credits. Subsequent to that we agreed on packaging the accom + wedding to sell.

He claimed that my email just the day before when I reminded his wife of my cancelled wedding status was confirmation. At this point, I realised there was no point corresponding further. I am shocked and disgusted by their behaviour. I understand everyone suffered during covid but all I asked was to transfer credits that I’d already paid for and they’d agreed to. Instead I was continually gaslit over it.

The owner will likely try to discredit my story but I’m happy to show email proof to anyone who requests.

For my wedding, 18 of us stayed at Villa the Sanctuary and I must say that every positive review I had read on Tripadvisor was absolutely accurate. The villa’s grounds were immaculately maintained, the food was superb, and the staff was the best I have ever encountered during my 14 trips to Bali. Putu and Salam, the villa manager and assistant manager, respectively, were simply outstanding. They were attentive, caring, and efficient, and always had a smile on their face. Nothing we asked for was too much trouble for them. Salam even arranged daily transport for all of us and was knowledgeable about gluten-free options. The staff clearly took pride in their work and were passionate about providing excellent service. During the wedding night, my husband and the best man gave speeches thanking the staff for their exceptional service, but unfortunately, they didn’t hear it because an external catering company had been hired for the occasion.

The rooms were spotless and beautifully appointed. Even the bunk rooms were comfortable and clean, and my aunt who stayed in one of them was even given a king-sized bed. We stayed in the master room which was huge and had two levels. The chef was amazing and Salam suggested mouth-watering meals every day. The Indonesian BBQ was a particular highlight, with a fantastic variety of meat, sauces, condiments, and salads. The American breakfasts were also delicious with fresh eggs, bacon, banana pancakes, pastries, fruit, toast, and more.

The villa’s location was perfect for the wedding, with a designated ceremony area and a reception area where we set up a marquee. We danced around the pool, which was adorned with floating candles and a DJ under the pool table room, and even went swimming. No one complained about the noise or bothered us, and when we woke up the next morning, the whole grounds were spotless.
Everyone who stayed at Villa the Sanctuary said it was the best wedding, the best villas, and the best customer service they had ever experienced. Putu, Salam, and the entire staff were simply exceptional and went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. I highly recommend this villa to anyone traveling in a large group.

The villas themselves (9 individual bedrooms and one massive master suite with its own pool, spread out over 2 acres of land) are stunning. This was our second time staying at Villa The Sanctuary Bali and I’ve got to say, it was JUST AS INCREDIBLE as the first time! We were here for a wedding in 2018 (which was absolutely fabulous) and this time we came for a family reunion because we knew how amazing this villa resort would be. The staff are so kind and helpful and the resort is so peaceful; nobody around bothering us or crowding our privacy.

The food is always outstanding quality (and I’ve been to some really nice resorts where the food was average at best) and the infinity pool that overlooks the river that flows through the property has an integrated Jacuzzi. Coming here (from Canada) is really so worth the trip! You’ll feel transported to another planet (like, actually Pandora)! At the end of our stay we felt so refreshed and renewed!

In March 2023, I had the privilege of staying at Villa The Sanctuary Bali with my extended family and I must say it was one of the best villa experiences I’ve ever had. The entire resort is over 2 acres and is exquisitely designed, with spacious grounds and ample communal areas, while still offering privacy and seclusion. The rooms are luxuriously appointed and comfortable, creating an ambiance of quality, opulence, and tranquility that truly feels 5-star, not to mention the staff that is available 24/7 and brought us drinks and snacks whenever we requested.

The estate is situated in a secluded location, which ensures there is no noise pollution (the only sound is the river flowing through the property) and provides a peaceful retreat, as the entire 10-bedroom resort is only rented out to one party at a time. Accessibility was not an issue as there was a driver available who took us to all the trendy spots in Canggu and the great beaches.
One of the highlights of my stay was the food, prepared by the in-house chefs, who prepared exceptional dishes. They cooked from a suggested menu or anything we ordered and every dish was a culinary delight.

What further elevated my experience was the exceptional quality of service that Putu and his staff provided. The service was impeccable, with a professional, friendly, and attentive team that went above and beyond to accommodate all of our requests. We felt truly taken care of throughout our entire stay.

I want to express my gratitude to the Sanctuary team for providing such a wonderful experience. I highly recommend staying here, and I look forward to returning in the future.

As newlyweds, my spouse and I couldn’t be more thrilled with our experience at Villa The Sanctuary Bali <3 From the moment we set foot on the property, we were blown away by the breathtaking beauty of the venue and the top-notch accommodations. Our wedding day was an absolute dream come true, and we owe it all to the incredible team at The Sanctuary.

From the very beginning, we were treated with care and the owner was really flexible in allowing us to move our dates due to the entire 2020/2021/2022 chapter with lockdowns and what not (unlike the airlines).

Once we arrived, we were struck by the venue’s absolute stunning beauty, with picturesque landscapes, lush gardens, and a river flowing through the property! It provided the perfect backdrop for our special day. The attention to detail and impeccable maintenance of the grounds truly made our wedding photos look like they were straight out of a fairytale. Our guests were in awe of the beauty and charm of the venue, and we received endless compliments on our choice of location.

The accommodations were nothing short of luxurious, with spacious and beautifully appointed rooms that offered all the modern amenities we needed. The king beds were super comfy, the bathrooms were in pristine condition, and all our special requests for extra beds and cribs were accommodated.

The Sanctuary’s in-house wedding planner went above and beyond to ensure that every detail of our wedding day was perfect. The event planning process was seamless, and their expertise and professionalism put us at ease throughout the entire planning process. The villa managers and staff were attentive and very friendly and the service we received was nothing short of exceptional. We felt truly cared for and valued as clients.

To top it all off, the food and beverage options provided by the Sanctuary were outstanding; like, literally gourmet-style - absolutely delicious! Also for our wedding: the catering team created a menu that exceeded our expectations, and our guests were raving about the delicious cuisine. We were thoroughly impressed with the quality and taste of the meals, and it truly added an extra special touch to our wedding day.

In summary, we cannot speak highly enough of Villa The Sanctuary Bali. The combination of the stunning venue, luxurious accommodations, exceptional service, and delicious food made our wedding day and our entire stay an unforgettable experience. “Splendid and authentic experience in the Balinese jungle with 5-star service”

We stayed at Villa Sanctuary to celebrate our wedding with family and friends, we stayed for one week – a week which we had been waiting for the last 3 years due to the pandemic. We are so glad we never gave up on our plans as it was sincerely one of the most amazing weeks of our life and we will remember this week dearly forever.

Our wedding was organised in-house by Ellen who understood perfectly the vision we had in mind and brought so much more to it. She covered all details and really put all her heart into making our dream wedding happen. I wasn’t sure what organising a wedding really involved but with Ellen, and Tracy on D-day, everything felt easy and smooth. I will be forever grateful for everything she’s done to make our special day so special indeed, especially in the middle of a global crisis.

Nested in the middle of the jungle by a river, the villa really fits in perfectly, being both beautiful and authentic. We were surrounded by the songs of the frogs at night and birds in the morning. We stayed with a group of 20 adults and 2 kids. All the rooms were perfect for each of us, very comfortable, always tidy and clean (thank you ladies!!). The swimming pool is stunning and of course kids loved it.

We would especially like to thank all the staff at the villa for everything they did to make us feel so comfortable and well taken care of. Putu, Salam, Gede, Gusde and everybody else were truly amazing. The chefs cooked delicious meals all week, our favorite was the Indonesian meal which we had a few times over the week. They really covered all dietary restrictions and offered great vegetarian options. We were lucky to organise a BBQ by the pool on the last day, it was fun and delicious again. The level of service is definitely 5-star!

10 BEDROOM PRIVATE LUXURY VILLA IN CANGGU.
We just came back from Villa The Sanctuary Bali. It was our second time we stayed here, the first time was in 2016 and now we enjoyed it in September 2022.

It was a delight to see all the staff again and we were impressed how well the villa has been maintained throughout the pandemic. Certainly the Villa is still amazing and all the staff are just wonderful. The villa, the gardens and the views are so much nicer than what the pictures show.

The villa manager Putu, the assistant villa manager Salam and the whole team can’t do enough for you – if you ask for it – they do it for you (whether it is shopping, massages, excursions, food, etc ) nothing is ever any trouble. And the food is absolutely delicious. Congratulations and thank you all, what an amazing, professional and friendly team.

For us, this was a family holiday experience with a few families totaling 26 guest. To be able to be together again in one stunning place and to be spoilt and treated was unforgettable. We truly love lounging around the wonderful pool areas and living areas, it was perfect with so much room for all of us.

We couldn’t have wished for a better place to have our holiday after so many years apart. It was difficult to leave and we will be back soon.

Last but not least we were surprised how fast the area around Pererenan and Echo Beach has grown. There are so many new shops, bars and restaurants close to the villa now, we almost could not believe it.

If you look for an amazing place to stay with a large group of family and friends in Canggu look no further.

“Bali Dream Vacation 2022”
We just returned from the Villa Sanctuary Bali. The villa is one of the most unique and beautiful villas we have ever stayed at. The grounds are stunning. The pictures can’t even begin to show how spectacular the setting is for this villa. The villa is situated in a beautiful “jungle” setting. It’s your own private resort for your group. All the rooms are spectacular with comfy beds, beautiful bathrooms, many with outdoor showers and exquisite furnishings. The master has its own private pool and sitting area that was an oasis unto itself.

As beautiful as the villa was, without question what made our stay here most memorable and special was the incredible staff. Salam, Putu, Gede, Gusde and the entire team went above and beyond to take care of our needs. From helping to plan meals, excursions, arranging transportation, special events, and services at the villa they always did so with a smile, and made us feel like family. The service they provided was top notch and is what separates this villa from any others we have stayed at. They really care about their guests and made us feel so welcomed and at home. We highly recommend this villa for any group or family gathering. The owner Frank was great to work with in booking our stay, even among the chaos of covid. Everything went off without a hitch and we are deeply grateful for his efforts.

Bali Dream Vacation 2022

Amazing Villa inside the Jungle, can’t believe there’s a villa in the middle of Village Comunity. When you’re entering the small road and vilage houses and end of the road suddenly surprises with silent of the Jungle.

Huge double bed room/private villa and other choices. Great place to relaxing, meditating, yoga, healing treatment and spa.

We cannot express enough how special and impeccably beautiful Villa the Sanctuary Bali is and was for our wedding in June of 2019. We still cannot stop daydreaming about that beautiful week we spent at the villa, and our wedding day held at the Villa. From the beautiful and immaculate rooms, the fact that the villa is big enough for both of our families and bridal party to all stay on site, and spend so much glorious time together, Sweeping stunning grounds (rooms and grounds sprawled over such a large area you can have your privacy from everyone as well), private secluded location (but only 15 minutes from Canggu night spots), beautiful nature and river, epic entertaining spaces & pool, the cute treehouse – literally everything about this villa was so dreamy.

We feel so lucky to have experienced the magic of this place. To the beautiful owners Ellen and Frank, to Putu, Salam, and the whole team at VTSB – the amazing housekeepers, gardeners, chefs and all others who made our stay so beautiful and memorable – Thank you! We cannot recommend enough Villa the Sanctuary Bali, and are hoping once we are able to travel again, we can come back to stay with you. Our family and friends still all talk about it often and we feel so fortunate to have been able to have our nearest and dearest from all over the world together in such a special place. A huge thank you as well to Ellen for doing an immaculate job also in planning our wedding, recommending great vendors, orchestrating everything, listening to our ideas and making them a reality, and making sure that all was perfect and ran so smoothly – all we had to do on the day was enjoy ourselves & that’s exactly what we did!

“A real Sanctuary”

Villa The Sanctuary Bali is the most unique property I have ever stayed at. The setting is stunning: A huge garden of more than 2 hectare with spectacular views from every angle.

When you are arrive you are greeted by the most lovely staff who make you feel instantly at home which continues throughout your trip. They even remember all your names. At the end of the stay we felt we had a new big Balinese family. We stayed in the master bedroom which has its own private pool. This was amazing as we had our own privacy away from our friends.

There are so many incredible features in the villa and the fabulous long pool with Jacuzzi is one of them! We loved the entertainment options, snooker table and living room with lots to watch. The location is perfect, so close to the best restaurants and and the beach clubs in Canggu but the truth is we didn’t want to leave the villa! It’s absolute heaven and the food is delicious.

Thanks to all the staff for making our trip the best possible!

Dream Wedding Venue
We had a destination wedding at Villa the Sanctuary in March 2019. Our wedding coordinator Ellen made the whole planning process a breeze and was able to completely customise the event to suit our taste and needs. The staff at the villa where nothing but professional and extremely welcoming. I highly recommend the Villa the sanctuary for any wedding or celebration, as well as a great holiday. 5 stars!

Stunnin villa & amazing service!
Where can I start! We just had our wedding at Villa the Sanctuary a week ago and everything was just perfect! We loved every minute of our stay at the villa and all our guests had an amazing timing during the celebration, all thanks to the villa and its fantastic staffs.

We looked at many places during our venue scout for the wedding. There are tons of options in Canggu (& greater area) as well as other location such as Jimbaran and Uluwatu that offer popular beach side or cliff side views. However, we find Villa the Sanctuary most unique amongst all – the villa is tucked away in a beautiful jungle(!) with a river running across; it brings the magical and mysterious Ubud to the trendy Canggu! It is a perfect venue for wedding celebration. While most villas would just have one open space for events, Sanctuary has several levels of gardens and different areas so we can have separate space for each of our welcome drink, cocktail and reception, which also helps to keep some surprises for the guests. The villa also has a pool/bar pavilion and a media room next to the garden areas, which we find super useful for guests to take a break from the heat / or as a nursery room. We were told by a number of wedding planners we consulted that Sanctuary is one of their favorite venue. It is so beautiful and versatile that we didn’t need to go out for our couple portraits at all, our photographer had a long list of spots inside the villa to take pictures for us!

Living in the villa itself was a dream, it was like having a private jungle to ourselves. It felt so close to nature staying in the villa, every morning we got woken by soft sunlight and crows of roosters that can be spotted at doorstep; and the soothing sound of the running river would send us to dreamland. The rooms are all very clean, spacious and beautifully done, each of the rooms has its own design and/or unique view. We also loved the large living room area that’s beautifully decorated with these large red lanterns. Both of our families spend a lot of time there gathering for meals and hangout, it felt very cozy and truly helped us bring the families together. The infinity pool facing the entire jungle and river was out of world, and definitely insta worthy. We have families coming from Europe, Canada and UK staying at the villa, and all of them raved about how beautiful the villa is and said that they want to retire in a place like this. We initially hesitated on Sanctuary as we find 5 nights minimum stay was a bit long, but we regret not booking for longer stay now!

Our great experience can’t be complete without the truly amazing staffs of the Sanctuary Vila. There are 20+ staffs on site helping out guests all day around, no request was too much or too little (as a small example, I asked for a water kettle for the villa, and the staff arrived within 2 minutes with the kettle and a tea set and made us a tea). If you are hosting an event there, you can also be assured that these staffs are very professional and highly experienced with events. Upon arrival, Salam sat down with us to go through all the arrangements we needed or could have wanted. Salam was extremely thoughtful and reminded us of all the little details that we would have ignored during the busy days. We had a small misunderstanding with the staff initially, but everyone was friendly and helpful and sorted it out. These little things and preparations volunteered by the staffs go a long way to make your stay seamless, especially if you are having a wedding and expect a hectic time.

Also have to mention that the kitchen at the Sanctuary is very solid as well. We opted to have our breakfast at the villa every day and asked for a few meals in villa for our family. They offer pretty good variety and are very flexible in terms of what we want. We also have Sanctuary to provide food for our casual pool-side BBQ brunch for the day after, and did not expect to be blown away by the food. All our guests who came to the BBQ loved it, there are so much variety and extremely tasty. Overall very pleased.

Our guests for the wedding were all charmed by the villa and called it magical. We are so happy that we chose Sanctuary as our wedding venue and are already discussing about celebrating our anniversary here again !

Very Family Friendly
We had 18 adults and 9 children. This property accommodated everyone very comfortably. If you are looking for undistracted time with family and friends, this is the place. The view of the surroundings is spectacular.

However, without question, Villa The Sanctuary Bali’s greatest attribute is the staff. They are very attentive without being intrusive. Can’t think of a single request made that wasn’t fulfilled. And lots of things were provided we didn’t expect. Free coffee and tea all day by the pool, a basket of snacks for the kids, lounge chairs moved everywhere we wanted. Breakfast and lunches prepared in advance for trips off property if you want. Send your laundry and it comes back the next afternoon washed and folded. Our five year old granddaughter asked for strawberries and Gede, one of the butlers, jumped on his motorbike and came back with a plate full. The list goes on :-)

A bit of a drive from the airport ( 45 minutes ) and somewhat remote but if you take the villa car it only takes a few minutes to the buzzing area around Echo Beach where you find all sorts of shops, bars and restaurants. Amazing vibe around here and you can find something for everyone.

On two different days we rented a minivan and the staff took us to Seminyak and Ubud to do a little sightseeing and shopping.

Spa services should not be missed. There is an area on the superb lawns that is ideal for massages. Secluded and covered with a traditional Joglo. The sound of the river and the breeze are heaven. The ladies who provide the services are truly gifted.

If peaceful, relaxing and being catered to is what you want, this is the perfect place. Sincere thanks to Putu, Salam, Gede and the whole team for making our trip so memorable.

Wedding Anniversary in a very beautiful villa
Villa The Sanctuary Bali is more beautiful than the pictures show. We had a group of 24 adults and 12 kids who all fit very comfortably. Putu, Salam and the staff were responsive to any needs we had and made our parents wedding anniversary amazing. The staff was really friendly and helpful, it was like a dream come true.

This villa has gorgeous views and an awesome layout for large groups. Our chef Gede, was amazing and every meal was so delicious. Our main bartender Dika was also the best: so happy and made us feel so welcome. We almost did not leave the villa for 5 full days.

We have already been talking about when we can all go back. I can’t say thanks enough for the awesome memories.

Remarkable
We stayed five nights at this wonderful villa in Canggu. We had the best time and now regret having to leave. Everything was fabulous and the service outstanding. The staff, Putu, Salam and all the other boys (I can’t remember all their names) were very helpful and joyful. We loved playing football with the staff in the large gardens and we loved running around the pool with our close family and friends. Part of the group went fishing and came back with more than 10 fish! Handara Golf in Bedugul was quite a bit of drive but beautiful and highly recommended if you love golf. Our mountainbike trip with Infinity Mountainbiking from Jatiluwih to the Villa (Unesco Heritage and recommended by the villa staff ) was the highlight of our trip.

The food was delicious. Especially the mixed seafood barbecue around the pool was a night we will never forget. The staff even arranged Balinese Dancers around the pool for us to watch.

The location of this villa is fantastic as you are tucked away in nature along a river but still close ( a 5 minutes car ride ) to the hustle and bustle around Echo beach and Jalan Batu Bolong with all its shops, restaurants, beach clubs etc …

We hope to return to Villa The Sanctuary Bali next year!

Breathtaking location, excellent staff and services
I stayed in this villa in March, 2019 and was very impressed with the scenery and location. I`m familiar with some of the finest properties in the Canggu area, and can say this one tops everything else. The staff is very friendly, the services were excellent and the nearby area around Jalan Batu Bolong is within easy reach. Some honest advice: the pictures do not do this villa justice: you have to see it to believe it, when you stay in Villa The Sanctuary Bali, it feels like you stay in a private village for yourself. The grounds are 22.000 m2 and the views are breathtaking! I have never seen anything like it.

Do not hesitate to book this property when you look to come to Bali with a larger group.

This was the best couples vacation we ever had
For many years we planned to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary with a group of our married friends. We knew it would be difficult to find a place that met everyone’s needs, because we all travel extensively and had very high expectations considering the time and expense that went into planning this trip.

We flew in couples from all over Australia, Europe and the USA. We were 10 couples, totalling 20 people.

Everyone said it was the best vacation they’ve ever had. The views of the jungle are breathtaking. The staff was attentive and catered to our every need. The villa manager, Putu did a great job of coordinating our requests. Frank, the villa owner communicated with us via email before we arrived to make sure everything was perfect. Once we arrived, the villa head butler, Salam was awesome! He did everything from making our drinks to serving all our meals and a whole lot more. He arranged for massage therapists to come to the villa and accompanied us to the beach to translate and make sure we were comfortable. The cook was phenomenal! The food was delicious and beautiful. We had a few ‘non’ meat eaters in the group and the chef made sure we had ‘non’ meat options at every meal. The rest of the staff did a great job cleaning our rooms and making us all feel welcome. The gardeners kept the surroundings immaculate.

Amazing stay and hopefully one day we will be back! Keep up the good work!

Amazing beautiful venue & villa
We stayed at the Villa Sanctuary on the 25th October till the 30th October. My brother hired out all the villa estate to have his wedding ceremony there. When our family arrived at the Villa Sanctuary we were in awe just at how beautiful the place is. All surrounded by the lush greenery trees & forest of Canggu,the place is huge. I think it has about 10-12 villas that accomodated all the immediate family of bride and groom and in the center there was a huge swimming pool that had the backdrop of the river, truly spectacular but what made our stay there most memorable were the staff. Salam and the staff were so accomdating in every way. They worked around the clock to make sure all our needs were attended too. From getting car hire, breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked,take away to housekeeping, everything was attended too. We were so lucky to have such amazing staff to help with our needs.

There was not much negative thing about our experience except maybe house keeping could of attended more with the towels, water bottles and one of the lights went off in the toilet that wasn’t fix but that was minor only things that could improve. I would highly recommend this place, the wedding ceremony was amazing , one of the best weddings I have experience. Salam and staff did an amazing job and I can go on and on about the experience and place & staff but it will take up too many space. Thank you Villa the Sanctuary.

Beautiful & tranquil Villa!!
Amazing large villa, near Canngu area with great facilities. The staff are all so accommodating and made the holiday so enjoyable! We had the whole villa and then staff knew everyone by name and were always available to help with anything our family needed.

Special place with A+ service
My best friend chose The Sanctuary Bali to host her wedding. The grounds, rooms, food, amenities, and the STAFF, led by Salam were all fantastic.

I have to start by complimenting the staff. They were simply wonderful and very accommodating to all of our requests. Everything was done a sincere smile and they were always happy to help and on top of our constantly changing plans. We felt very safe and taken care of in their hands. Thank you to Salam for being so responsive and juggling 20+ people, all of whom had direct access to him via his cell phone / WhatsApp! I am certain that was no easy task and he was always happy to help with big requests and small.

Grounds: expansive, green, impressive, pristine
Rooms: Large, housekeeping several times a day, very clean and quiet.
We cannot wait to return to this very special place.

Beautiful wedding Venue
My family and I stayed at the sanctuary in August for my sisters wedding. It was a beautiful venue. It is kid friendly but please note that you do have to keep an eye on your young kids closely as there are lots of stairs and water features without gates.

The service and cleanliness of the place though I had no fault with. Our villa was spacious and lovely, and Salam and his staff were fantastic and helped us daily. There was nothing to hard for Salam and we really appreciated his help and coordination. I definitely recommend this venue for weddings and special events. My sisters wedding was amazing!!

Our wedding venue and one we will never forget!
My husband and I chose this beautiful villa for our wedding. It was great because it had absolutely everything we needed and all in one villa. The grounds are massive which was perfect for hosting BBQ’s and a wedding for 50+ guests. The grounds are breathtaking and once you have had a look around you are then taken aback by the stunning accommodation. Its pure luxury in the jungle. It really doesnt get any better than this.

The staff were amazing!!!! Literally everywhere you turned you were offered a drink if yours was empty or food if your plate was empty. There was nothing they wouldnt do for you. Salam and Putu the managers and their staff were outstanding! They made the whole stay for us magical.

We had Ellen our wedding planner for the wedding and she comes with the villa. Ellen and her team made everything so easy for us. It was an unforgettable 5 days in an unforgettable setting and one that I would highly recommend. We will 100% go back there to celebrate the anniversary. Thank you to everyone there for giving us the BEST time we have ever had! We got rave reviews from our wedding guests as well, they had never seen anything like it!

The Snyder Wedding
We got married at the villa in March. The wedding party and family stayed at the villa for 5 days. The accomadation was unbaleivable. None of the photos do it justice. We didn’t want to leave. Salam and his staff made us feel at home. Was easy to find and get what and where we needed with his crew. They were very knowledgeable about the area. Salam knows all the good spots to visit.
Ellen the wedding planner did an amazing job. Everyone who attended our wedding said they have never seen anything like it!!
Thanks to all of them for a week we will never forget!!

Where do I begin?
Our 5 night stay at Villa the Sanctuary Bali for our wedding felt like it could only happen in a dream!

BOOKING- Frank was so helpful in arranging our booking well over a year in advance, sending us information, prices and pictures. He was so kind to answer every question so promptly. It was a quick and easy process.

THE VENUE- Photos do not do this place justice. When you wake up in the morning, you can hear roosters for neighbouring properties, the calm river running by and nature all around. All rooms are huge with modern furnishings, the garden and lawns are constantly attended to and the cleaning staff discretely ensured that all rooms where cleaned during the day. The pool area is a great hang out spot nearby the media room and pool table room.

STAFF- Putu and Salam, WOW.. to find staff like them is rare. They knew all of our guests names before we arrived ( we had a large group!), ensured our meals were organised promptly, organised our transport ( even when we forgot) and catered to our every request. All other staff were just as amazing, always greeting us by our names and a warm smile.
The meals prepared by the in house chef were delicious and we never ran short. I was a bit nervous about how much this was going to cost at the end of our stay but it turned out to be very reasonable!! All our guests were very impressed by the service and found this to be the highlight of the stay ( aside from the beautiful property!)

WEDDING PLANNER- If you are a bride considering having your wedding at this venue, you will not regret choosing Ellen as your wedding planner! Who thought you could plan a destination wedding through emails and be stress free????Ellen ensured that we had the best of every vendor within our budget and replied to every email quickly. She is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable! Our wedding day was a dream come true plus more, everything ran so smoothly with Ellen at the wheel. Thank you Ellen!

Dream Wedding at Villa Sanctuary Bali
I recently stayed for 5 days at Villa Sanctuary Canggu with 30 other guests, friends and family and celebrated my wedding with approx 100 guests the love of my life. It was the most unbelievable and special time of our lives. This truely is a magical sanctuary and created memories for our family that we will never forget. It was private, clean, and had all the tropical beauty of Ubud rainforest but only 10 mins from the funky Canggu restaurants, bars and shops. The staff at The Sanctuary were all extremely professional, caring, and excellent service from the moment we arrived to the time we finished our stay. Lead by Mr Salam the staff were very lovely and accommodated all request from cocktail parties, beautiful breakfasts cooked to order every morning, hosting pool BBQ and cock tail parties, organising our transport each day. We made really close connections with the staff and are considered part of our family now. I can not recommend this Villa highly enough for a wedding of family holiday. It is the most magical place to really relax in nature and celebrate life. 10 out of 10 from me!

We had a wonderful family Christmas here and it was a fabulous experience. But what I really want to say is what an amazing job Putu, Salam and the other staff did after I slipped over running barefoot on the grass. I cannot thank these guys enough in everything they did to help me. I had to go to hospital and needed an operation as I broke my wrist. I was chauffeured around to 2 hospitals and the drivers waited for hours to take my partner back to the villa.They assited me with he insurance company and even came in to the hospital to see how I was. I truly cannot speak highly enough of the Villa’s staff and they were equally fantastic at the villa too!

As a traveler, I pride myself in being in a lot of incredible places all over the world, but I must say this tops them all. To start, this place is absolutely stunning, there are no words how beautiful the grounds and the rooms are. The pool area in itself is worth staying for. My bathroom was beyond anything I could’ve asked for, the tub was made of dreams! But perhaps the most important reason why this place won my heart is the amazing service I received from all the staff. Salem the manager made sure that all my needs were met down to having a kettle in my room late in the night. I was met with a friendly face no matter what time of the day and no request was too big. The cleaning staff kept my room impeccable down to having the blinds open/closed depending on the time of the day.

The daily breakfast was soooo good, fresh fruits and banana pancakes was something I didn’t want to leave! Having a personal driver is also a nice touch, was able to leave the grounds (really didn’t want to lol) to have dinner in Canggu and they were more than happy to drive me around. You won’t regret staying in this place, you would absolutely love it.

Wedding
spent 5 days here for a wedding, its out of this world absolutely beautiful and amazing. only one criticism and that it did not have enough loungers round the pool for comfort which spoilt what could of been very nice day spent round the pool. it has very steep steps leading down to the pool area but you can get down to it by going round the grounds some what a little easier if you needed to avoid the steps. A lovely experience. laying in your bed at night you can hear the frogs, but you get used to the noise!

Wow! Just Wow!
We stayed at the Villa for NYE 2017 as we do every NYE in a different country every year with friends. From the professionalism of Salam and Putu, to the helpfulness of Deka, Gday, Yebit and many other staff members everyone was very pleased with their stay. Salam helped us daily to create various excursions and the drivers unbeknownst to us all would work overtime without complaints as they put the guests first. I find that people working in the company reflect how they are treated in the company and clearly Frank, the owner, must be doing a great job. Thank you everyone there for a great send off to 2018!

Memorable NYE Vacation
Our stay at the villa has exceeded all our expectations. The pictures don’t do the venue justice. The setting is peaceful and the grounds are beautiful. The staff were so friendly and extremely accommodating. We were able to book massages on site and set up a yoga class with the help of Salam – one of the villa managers. Salam was very responsive, professional, and gave us great tips about local activities. Also, would like to make a shout out to Ebit who is one of the members of the villa team and took special care of us.

Mind blowing venue
My partner & I chose the Villa Sanctuary as our venue to get married a few weeks ago in September and it was even better than we could have ever imagined!

We stayed for 5 nights with around 25 family members and everybody had the best time ever. For our stay, the staff Putu, Salam & the entire team were so attentive, friendly, helpful and just seemed to appear when you needed something, nothing was ever too much to ask. We had a couple of dinners, an amazing poolside BBQ for 60 and breakfast everyday and it was easily some of the best food we had in Bali – so fresh, authentic, healthy & tasty!

The 7 seater car to drive guests around was a fantastic touch, it made everyone’s stay easy to get around.

We stayed in the Master Villa which was secluded and spacious, the luxury & extra luxury villas were amazing – incredible views of the jungle and gardens from wherever you were and the bunk houses were perfect for groups of kids / teenagers. With so many people staying it worked out very affordable for a 5 star service.

The Wedding – we asked Ellen to be our wedding planner and it was the best decision we could have made! Ellen is incredible at her job, her attention to detail and time management is at the highest level, she really did think of everything and make our decisions easier. We gave her an idea of what we wanted and she suggested vendors / ideas that gave us exactly the wedding we wanted, specially tailored to us. Our guests comments kept coming back to us saying ‘It was a wedding straight out of Vogue magazine, absolutely stunning’. On the day we both knew everything was in hand so we were both just so relaxed and smiled from ear to ear, there simply was nothing we had to stress about – the staff had it covered. We are from Australia and it would have cost 5 times the amount to have something of the same level at home and without the amazing scenery.

Ellen honestly made our day the best day of our lives, and if you are sitting in the fence about a wedding planner – don’t, she is the best!!

Thank you Ellen, Frank, Putu, Salam & the whole team – we had the best stay with you!!

Quite literally a wedding in paradise.
Having been looking for a place to hold our destination wedding for over a year, we stumbled upon Villa The Sanctuary in an online top 10 places to get married in Indonesia review on Bali Wedding Facebook page. We went to Bali a year before the wedding to check out a handful of final list contenders and knew as soon as we saw The Villa Sanctuary in person, we had found our wedding venue/accomodation. Frank and Ellen were fantastic from the get go and the staff they have on site went above and beyond to make sure every moment of our stay was as memorable as the day itself. And what a day it was. The wedding was perfect, as was the flower/table arrangements, the celebrant, food and Dias, the background, weather and accomodation. Everything was perfect and we were quite literally sharing paradise with our closest of friends and family. We could not have asked for anything more. The photos we have are spectacular and do no justice to the experience. The Villa was a tropical retreat with everything anyone could hope for and the location was quite, quaint and like something out of a movie. We loved every moment and couldn’t recommend the Villa high enough for a large group getaway or wedding adventure.

Believe What’s In The Photos
That first look when you step into this place is phenomenal, the view is simply amazing and the atmosphere is refreshing. The staff is attentive and really go out of their way for it’s occupants and I would love to thank them one last time for their service.

The rooms are cleaned daily and are looked after, any issues we had were fixed quickly, the food was amazing. There was simply not fault with Villa The Sanctuary. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Wedding Venue
If you want to get married in Bali then this is the place – we stayed for 5 days end of September 2017 and had the perfect wedding – it exceeded my expectations and also exceeded my guests expectations.

The Venue – stunning views of the river, has 2 pools that overlook the river, the food during our stay was amazing and much cheaper and better quality than eating out, the staff are so helpful and can arrange anything you want at local prices – no bartering and no rip offs – we had in house massages, local taxi drivers for half the cost – you get treated like one of the family.

The Wedding – I went with the in house wedding planner Ellen – best decision I made – i know weddings can be stressful to organize but Ellen made this so easy for me. I went with all off Ellen’s suggestions and had all my guests come to me during the wedding saying this was the best wedding they have ever been too. The fire dances were a highlight, food was sensational (Dijon Catering), acoustic band were amazing (Traffic Blues), Photographer did a fantastic job where we didn’t feel like our face was going to crack from smiling to much (Evermotion) – if you want your dream wedding then this is the place to go.

Perfect place to get married!!
I came to Villa the Sanctuary for my sisters wedding and could not recommend this place more!!! The villa itself is jaw-droppingly beautiful with every room a little bit different and gorgeous in their own right.
The staff are all so friendly and Salem the manager went to so much effort to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
And then there was the wedding itself! Ellen the wedding planner left no stone unturned and made the day stress free and easy. The Villa is the perfect backdrop for a wedding in paradise and all of the guests couldn’t stop raving about it. If you are considering this place for your own special day then you will not be disappointed!

Breathtaking Paradise
Stayed here for one of my girlfriends wedding celebrations and this was hands down the most amazing stay I’ve had. Villa The Sanctuary Bali: a place that no words can really describe how unbelievably beautiful, calm and magical it truly is. VIEWS!!!!!! Picturesque views from every room. You can look out to the jungle and amazing gardens for hours taking in all the beauty in, the sound of the river and perfectly chilled breeze will take your breathe away. Fantastic food. Perfect pool and jacuzzi.

Places to lounge, party, eat, drink. The surrounding area of Echo Beach and Jalan Batu Bolong has a few places that are really unique. I can’t emphasize enough how perfect my trip was. The house is unreal and the staff is there to help you with any and everything. I enjoyed my trip to Villa The Sanctuary Bali so much and give it 5 stars!!!!!! I advise everyone to visit this spectacular gem!

Perfect Luxury Retreat
I’m not sure where to even begin, I rented Villa The Sanctuary Bali for my birthday getaway and invited family and friends from a round the globe. We stayed for 5 nights and it was the best time we could ever have. The pictures of this place do not do it justice. If you ever wanted to feel like you were living the life of the rich and famous, this is the spot for you! The place is grandiose and over the top luxurious, the location is beautiful, and the staff bring it all together to make it a once in a life time experience. We felt like celebrities on a reality show……Kudo’s to all the staff for creating heaven on earth.

From the moment I enquired Frank replied swift and clear and I felt instantly this was going to be the place where I was going to stay and organise my special event. First, Villa The Sanctuary Bali is enchanting in term of high-end architectural design and yet very welcoming for all guests, young & old. The infinity pool, is truly one of a kind. Secondly, add a team lead by Putu and Salam and in my case Ellen as event planner. Honestly, I can say enough how much this make the already amazing venue into a spectacular experience. And the food & drinks were awesomely good. Finally, add a great group of close friends and family enjoying this beautiful venue during my birthday day, dinner and party as well as a few days before/after and you have the perfect ingredients to make any special day impossible to forget.

Lastly we were very happy we could find so many new shops and eateries around Jalan Batu Bolong which appears to be the new hot spot in Bali. Awesome location, awesome property, awesome experience and awesome service from start to finish. I will be back for sure.

Large group of families stay
The Villa Sanctuary was an ideal villa to book out in its entirety with friends. Perfect if you have children aged 7 and above also, given the number of stairs. Staff were very friendly and Salom (forgive me if I spelt that incorrectly) the manager very attentive and obviously experienced. The other staff will benefit long term from the training Salom is giving them.
Rooms were lovely with rooms 6 and 7 a fair bit smaller and less luxurious than the others, (although can’t complain as we booked last in our group!).

Pool is a central point and fabulous to lounge around.
Food is ok with some hits and a clear highlight being the BBQ night by the pool. Breakfast is also a treat and filling for kids and adults alike.

Salom organised kite making, Muay Thai boxing class (excellent instructors for kids and adults), henna (girls loved it), massage (basic but good value), transfers and more. All made available at very short notice.
A very enjoyable stay for our 7 family groups but don’t set your expectations on Four Seasons service levels, it is not that kind of place.

Simply amazing
We had our wedding on the 4th of June 2017 at Villa the Sanctuary for 54 people and it was the best day of our lives!

It was simply amazing.

From our very first contact with Frank via email 9 months ago, it has been nothing but perfect. He and Ellen are beautiful people and went above and beyond to make sure that our wedding was just what we wanted. We booked the venue without ever having been there and it far exceeded our expectations.

Ellen was our wedding planner and she did such an amazing job. Throughout the whole process of planning she was so attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Everything we wanted she made happen. We trusted her to make decisions and she produced a day that we will never forget – a true indication of her experience and dedication. It truly was the best day ever! Every single guest has commented repeatedly that it was the best wedding that they have ever been too.

The venue is simply amazing. Pictures cannot do it justice. The natural beauty makes the place so special. It is so clean and the facilities are first class. The size of the property provides isolation and privacy if you that’s what you desire, but enough communal area to mingle with your guests.

Putu, Salam and his team of staff were simply outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. They were always available to help out and make things happen. Even if we thought they were not there, morning or night, a quick text to them via whatsapp and anything that we needed was organised promptly and with a smile. They organised transport, scooter hire, washing, meals, babysitters, massages – all within minutes!

The meals prepared by the villa were delicious. We had a ‘recovery pool party’ the day after our wedding and the BBQ lunch supplied by the villa was perfectly presented and a real hit with our guests. We booked the BBQ a second time later in our stay because it was so good.

Overall our experience with Villa the Sanctuary was unforgettable. I have and will recommend this venue and their staff to all my friends and family. One of our guests is now considering Villa The Sanctuary for her birthday celebrations next year!

Family wedding
We attended a family wedding at the Villa The Sanctuary Bali in early May 2017. Four nights staying at the venue was amazing I don’t think we actually wanted to leave. The location was stunning, the rooms were quiet and very comfortable. Salam and the rest of the team were amazing, friendly, polite, helpful, considerate, professional. The food they produced was excellent. The venue was fantastic for the wedding and it was over far too soon. I have no hesitation in recommending Villa the Sanctuary Bali if you’re looking for a beautiful setting for something special.

Fallen in love at first sight – and for ever
It was around 9 months ago when we first visited Villa the Sanctuary with my fiancé (at the time) as part of a viewings cycle in Bali, while seeking to decide on where our wedding could/would/should take place.

The moment we set foot at the VTS it was it. We both tried hard to keep a hidden smile during the viewing with kind Frank, knowing that there is absolutely no need to view anything else. If you happen to see the photos & online content beware, it is very little compared to when you actually get there, simply because this amount of natural & structural beauty can very hardly be captured on camera. This is one of the very best & exclusive environments, with the warmest people, high-end and artistic decoration, elegant architecture, set-up, and energetic locations we have ever been and stayed at.

It is really hard to express our gratitude to this fantastic team who hosted our wedding in May 2017, and for taking care of us and our beloved for 5 days with solid & tireless professionalism, enthusiasm and responsiveness at all times.

Like each couple, we had dreamt a lot of our wedding and this magical gathering of our families & friends who all came from different parts of the world; well our dreams were greatly over-fulfilled.

Ellen is a wonderful & positive person and an extremely competent organizer, who guided us throughout the past months and helped us creating a spectacular final outcome that will be strongly and cordially remembered by us & our guests.

Putu, Salam, and the entire team ensured daily that nothing is missing and had us all pampered to the maximum, providing solutions to any request that came across – including indoor & outdoor activities, Bali excursions, dining bookings and so on. We can’t thank you enough really!

Compliments to the Chef whom we did not have the chance to personally thank, wish the team can do so on our behalf. All the meals were wonderful and all our guests – specially the Europeans – shaped a lovely opinion of the Balinese cuisine along with its hospitality.

To the travellers’ advice, the value for money you get at the VTS is beyond any realistic expectation. And if you happen to plan your wedding in Bali, just go ahead with your eyes closed and your hearts assured. You will never regret it!

The wedding of our dreams
Quite simply, this villa hosted the wedding of our dreams.

The villa is huge and stunning, with sprawling and nicely manicured lawns, that gives an ideal wedding celebration setting. Above all, the staff were incredible.

1. The villa and facilities – the villa is tucked away inland in Canngu – it really is an incredible setting. If you are looking for a garden setting, then this is the one without question. The location is fairly accessible to main areas in Canngu by car – but in saying that I give the location 5 stars not because it is next to the main road, but rather because it lives up to its name! It really is a sanctuary – away from the busy streets and very peaceful.

2. The staff – the unbelievable staff is really what set this villa apart from anywhere else I have stayed before. Seemingly within an hour our first names were learnt and remembered for the duration of our stay. Every interaction was with a smile and genuine warmth. All of the staff went out of their way to make everyone in the group feel taken care of. Salam went the extra mile to ensure everyone was happy and things were planned smoothly. I cannot speak highly enough of Salam, Putu and the whole team.

When we checked out one of our friends left their laptop in the room. Having just dropped us off at our new location (which was a 2.5hr roundtrip drive), the laptop was instantly driven back out to us and delivered with a smile – just one example of many where the staff went the extra mile to make sure the most important weekend of our lives was also one of the most enjoyable.

3. Rooms – there are 10 rooms within the villa compound, of different sizes. We needed a few bunks in some rooms and cots in others, and this was done proactively in advance of our arrival at the villa. There is a good balance of the modern and traditional to the rooms – it’s luxurious, but it still feels like Bali.

4. Meals – all meals a family style, rather than ala carte, and so there is a bit of planning involved, but again this was proactively managed by Salam and the team. The lunches and dinners were delicious – and the staff also understand the need for kids to eat earlier, and that their food requirements are different. This was all taken care of automatically.

5. Overall – we had a fantastic wedding weekend and couldn’t have asked for more. The incredible setting and the amazing staff are really what sets this villa apart… I’d love to revisit someday!

Our wedding wonderland
Firstly I have to say it was amazing and the Sanctuary Villa itself was the best choice anyone could make to host an event in Bali. The grounds were beautiful and everything was to the absolute highest standard.
I need to comment on the staff as well, Putu and Salam and the rest of your employees did your venue proud the way they looked after us for the duration of the 5 days and made it so enjoyable.
Sancutuary Villa has amazing staff and is an amazing venue I will be staying there again in the not to distance future.

I was on the same trip as two previous reviews, with Sandra P and MarshalKM. I absolutely reiterate what they have said about the villa and the staff. We could not have been happier. We came to Bali as a group of women celebrating Sandra’s 40th birthday and the villa was absolutely perfect to take a break from our busy lives and children. The rooms and surrounds were immaculate and blissfully relaxing in the tropical surrounds. The river running through the grounds provided a beautiful backdrop to our pristine environment. We had so much room – and it was all for us! We enjoyed the tranquility, with the absolutely amazing butlers on hand to provide for our every need. The pool, bar and media area was a stunning place to spend hours every day. I was worried about not having enough to eat since we had to plan meals in advance, however there was more than enough and the meals were absolutely divine. The villa vehicle is available on demand if you wish to go touring or head into the shopping or dining areas of the city. I would definitely recommend Villa the Sanctuary Bali if you’re looking for somewhere quiet and removed from the hustle and bustle to spend time with your special group of people.

We still made a couple of trips into the city to dine or shop but we absolutely preferred being at our villas as a group. The butlers could not do enough for us. Anything at all we needed, they went to the shops to get for us. We also enjoyed their company and getting to know more about their lives but they were at all times absolutely professional. It has been a rude shock to return home where we now have to prepare our own meals and drinks! The villa definitely holds a very special place in our hearts and I know we’d all love to return.

Holiday of a Life time!
Villa The Sanctuary is exactly that..a hidden paradise! From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left our stay was amazing! Salam and the butlers Yoga, Gusde, Gede, Ebit, Darsana & Dika took amazing care of us and made sure our whole stay ran seamlessly. From driving us to our destinations, picking us up when we were ready to go home, organising massages, yoga, laundry, snacks etc. It was so nice to be looked after and not have to think about a thing. For a group of 13 ladies, most of us Mums this was a big treat!
The chefs were amazing and every meal we had was delicious. We ate mostly at the Villa, as the food was just so good. I would definitely recommend doing this!

The property is so beautiful and I never wanted to leave. So peaceful and just a beautiful place to be. The cleaners and yard workers also do a wonderful job of keeping it clean, you don’t even know they are there!
I would recommend Villa The Sanctuary to anyone that is looking at a group holiday in Bali. The staff are so accommodating and I could not recommend them and this beautiful property enough.

Fabulous venue for a ladies trip in Bali
For my 40th birthday, I invited 12 friends along to celebrate with me at Villa the Sanctuary. The villa hired us a bus for when we wanted to travel together (ie airport, shopping in Seminyak, out to dinner in Canggu), otherwise, we used the villa vehicle. As I had booked the villa I was worried about booking it sight unseen, however, it was every bit as beautiful as the photos on the website.

The bus and the villa car were very clean, modern and air-conditioned. The villa’s are all airconditioned as well. The master bedroom is a very spacious double storey complex – it has an outdoor shower and an indoor large bath and a private infinity pool.

The meals were amazing, every night we chose the Indonesian meal option, and loved every choice provided. We had afternoon nibbles by the pool, the calamari rings and spring rolls were delicious!

We added Salam to our private Whatsapp group, and by the end of our trip, this was the best means of communication to organise our pickup from downtown, or just to order a 730am coffee or tea delivered to our room.

Our butlers were all fantastic! They provided us with amazing service between the hours of 7am and 11pm each day. Thank you Salam and team! To Gusde, Gede, Yoga, Ebit, Darsana and Dika – your service was amazing and made our group of women feel very relaxed.

The massage ladies Salam organised to come on-site provided wonderful massages, the on-site organised yoga class was very intense, the suggested sunset at the temple was a great recommendation as well.

Frank very patiently answered all my questions prior to arriving. Thankyou.

And the WiFi was very fast compared to my home WiFi in regional Western Australia! Thank you, would definitely come again, maybe next time we will bring our families!

Paradise in Canggu
What an amazing place. The most beautiful surroundings amenities and people.
What can we say in a few words , Frank and Ellen have presented a paradise in the forest.We were blessed to have 30 friends join us to celebrate my now wife Julie for her 50th birthday which was really a surprise wedding coordinated by Ellen the wedding planner with all the answers. Nothing was an issue for this girl. Along with the team consisting of Putu, Salam and their fantastic crew did all and anything we wished for.

The food was also fantastic, from traditional Indo breakfast ,lunch and dinner to BBQ dinner, burgers n fries for lunch , pasta for the little ones and the salads and veggies were second to none.There is one thing that could be fixed quite easily, better lighting in the villas and maybe some means of call system to the kitchen ETC. These were not deal breakers, I actually look better in the dark!
I wish the sanctuary all the very best for the future and we look forward to returning there asap.

We would highly recommend this paradise to all as a great place to spend time with friends , family and loved ones.
For those who want to travel out of the resort Canggu has shops restaurants and bars for all to enjoy. Seminyak is 30 min away , however I had no need to go out of this place at all. The pool and bar had all I needed.

Thanks again to all involved at the sanctuary and to all our friend for joining us on this auspicious occasion.

We could not have asked for a more beautiful way to celebrate not just my birthday but our surprise wedding!
At the end of the day we were going in blind. Scared that it would not be what we wanted it to be for our 30 guests, our special day and our 5 day stay. It surpassed our expectations by far. Truly magnificent. Cannot thank Villa The Sanctuary enough for what we believe was the best wedding ever. Our guests were gobsmacked by every single detail that Ellen the Wedding Planner gave it. From the ceremony set up, to the reception, to the absolute finish it was spectacular. My favourite moment was the fireworks that Ellen had organised for our wedding dance. Not something we could have done in Australia. This place does not just have to be for a wedding. any celebration will do! Aside from the wedding in the total of 5 days we were there we had many special moments. The beautiful food that many of the guests are still raving about, the organised massages, lazing around the infinity pool with the magnificent backdrop. For me personally it was a 10 out of 10. Thank you to all the staff, especially Putu, Salam and of course Ellen and Frank who even came out to party with us. We cannot wait to all come back for the first anniversary!

We stayed for 5 nights in Villa The Sanctuary Bali mid January 2017 as guests to a wedding of one of my best friends. We had a fantastic experience. The villa is an amazing 5 star plus property. We loved the whole experience of being able to have all our children and partners staying in one place where the wedding was. For us, Villa The Sanctuary Bali was heaven, the wedding couldn’t have been better. Our dreams became a reality here!
We had our ‘wedding week’ (and stayed) at Villa The Sanctuary Bali – we could not have dreamt to be in a more amazing place! We had the best time and everyone who stayed with us absolutely loved the Villa too.

Service – Outstanding! A solution was always found for everything that I bothered the staff about in the lead up and on our arrival… it was an absolute pleasure dealing with Frank & Ellen for our wedding stay. Salam and Putu, where do I start? They are both absolute gentleman and were always quick to provide answers for anything we needed (especially transport), provided the A class service with regard to the food options/catering and were also very supportive of me while I was under pressure in the lead up to the wedding plus trying to organise all of our family with the accommodation at the same time. I cannot thank them enough and they are like true friends since meeting them both. There was also never a moment when the staff as a whole weren’t there to serve snacks, drinks and generally offer help and a warm smile throughout our whole time there.

Food – The highest standard! No matter how large or small the need, the breakfasts were amazing. The lunch provided for all of our guests on the wedding day too was very much appreciated as it allowed everyone to relax. The pizzas, burgers and chips that Salam organised with the chef for our day after party were also fantastic.

The Villa – Absolutely stunning! The grounds on which the Villa sits are amazing! The pool area is such a great place to hang out at for the whole day and is so relaxing and calm plus having bathroom facilities there too makes it so much easier than moving back to your room. Having the edge to look out over the river and jungle is beautiful plus a pool big enough for me to swim laps in every morning : )
The master bedroom/villa is to die for. My wife and I could not believe how lucky we were to stay for 6 nights in such an awesome room with our own pool overlooking the river – everyone was jealous haha. All of the other bedrooms buildings were superbly clean and beautifully set up (even the bunk house looked amazing). There was not one complaint about any of the rooms – clean, fresh, spacious, welcoming and plenty of cold air conditioning. The pool table bale was a perfect hang out spot to have a drink, some food and listen to music and was definitely a favourite. Being able to sit upstairs at the dining table and look out over the villa and the pool was a pleasure every morning.

Honestly… 5 STARS!

I cannot thank the staff enough for everything you did to make this trip one we will never forget! We are blessed that you were all so helpful and provided us with long lasting memories of what is the best place I have ever stayed in! We are planning as best we can to get a group together to come and stay again… we miss it and will return as soon as we can!

As the title says… our dreams became a reality staying at Villa The Sanctuary Bali whilst having the best wedding day ever!

Do yourself a favour and stay here with family or friends AND get married too : )

heaven on earth
This place is absolutely beautiful. It is located in the North of Canggu- secluded on a hill/cliff in the jungle of Bali overlooking a beautiful river. The villa itself is one of the most amazing I’ve ever seen. There is a beautiful infinity pool overlooking the water, an amazing jacuzzi, huge fire candles, an open environment and amazing views. The house itself is a work of art and is kept in pristine condition. The staff are beyond friendly and accommodating. Especially Putu, Salam, Gde, Gusde and Yoga went above and beyond serving our every day needs. You did an amazing job guys! Really top notch! I couldn’t imagine a better vacation spot. This is a true luxury getaway.

Amazing and Beautiful Villa
We had our wedding here on the 1st October 2016 after many trip to Bali looking for wedding venues we found this amazing and beautiful villa words and photos do not this place Justice it is stunning .
We stayed there for 7 days with family and friends having our wedding in the middle of our stay our wedding planner Ellen did a amazing job nothing was to much trouble and planned down to a tee if you want a fairy tale wedding in a amazing setting this is one to look at.
On to the staff as Putu was on leave we were put in the very capable hands of Salam execution of his duties is floor-less every request is done in a timely fashion nothing is impossible also his suggestion for meals never disappointed us they were fantastic
The rest of the staff are of the same standard floor less to a tee

To Frank ,Ellen, Salam and all the staff you made our day one of the most amazing and unforgettable experience we could have the stay in your villa was faultless

Magic Place
Stunning private resort to host a big party of 20.

Villa has the perfect level of space to accomodate big groups.

Rooms and pool are great size with the river running alongside.

Grounds are fantastic for weddings, events or a big cricket match.

The staff headed by Salam and the team are superb. They are attentive to all needs, alot of fun and will help you out with all enquiries. Food is excellent by quality chefs. All staff are a credit to the Villa.

“Perfect for wedding”

Villa The Sanctuary is perfect for weddings! We saw quite a number of places in Bali, but chose the Sanctuary for our wedding because of the amazing setting, the 8 big bedrooms (and additional bunk room) to accommodate our families, but most of all because of the space it offers.The lawn at the riverside was perfect for the dinner (we had around 90 guests) and the poolside an ideal spot for the party afterwards. The premises, which has just been refurbished earlier this year, consist of a number of villas, all with large rooms and lavish bathrooms, most of which come with a big bath and both an indoor and outdoor shower. The overall setting is simply stunning and once you are there you feel like just staying there and forget about the rest of Bali!

“Very beautiful villa for big group!”

We just spent a vacation with our company employees. We have total 26 people, including 6 kids. We stayed there for 5 days, I should say you cannot find the 2nd place in Bali for this size’s group. We searched many places from website before our visit, we found this would be the only place for our group. After we arrived at the villa, we know this is also the best. We were very happy with this villa, very big, convenient, warm staffs, safe environment. Very good size for each room, good size for swimming pool, for the yard. Everything is perfect. “Superb!”

We were a group of 26 members of an extended family ages ranging from 6 – 70 who stayed a week at The Sanctuary, and what an amazing week it was. From the smiles, from the friendly staff, from the beautiful food, from the luxury grounds, from the infinity views, from the sensational pool and from the luxury accommoation, it really is impossible to fault this place. We cannot praise the villa manager, the butler, the chef and the driver enough who assisted on every single request with courtesy, efficiency and always a smile. The staff sets a high standard for this villa. I cannot express it enough! We sincerely thank the sanctuary team for a wonderful and memorable family holiday had by all, and could certainly recommend this place for all to enjoy!

“Heaven on earth & the wedding of my dreams”

My family and I stayed at Villa The Sanctuary Bali in the first week of June, 13. We also held our wedding ceremony and reception on the villa grounds. On first arrival at this villa my husband and I were absolutely blown away by the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings. We had stepped foot into heaven. We had the joy of staying 5 nights in the master suite, with its own private pool and amazing indoor/outdoor bathroom, our own private little sanctuary when we just wanted some ‘us’ time. The room was very big and clean, the decor was beautiful and the king bed was so comfortable.

The rest of my extended family stayed in all other rooms (excluding the brand new bunk room) and all rooms and ensuites were beautifully presented, clean and large. The main pool was so fresh, clean and cooling to swim in and we spent a lot of time just laying out enjoying the sound of nature and the river. The billard room and media room were well used by myself and the family, lots of fun. The staff were very accommodating to our every need, nothing was too hard. Breakfast/lunch/dinner were all so tasty, fresh and so much variety. The drivers were so friendly and helpful.

Edy (villa manager) was absolutely fantastic and so helpful with helping us locate final bits and pieces and suppliers for our wedding. All I had to do was ask and it was done (and perfectly). Our wedding day was a dream, Villa the Sanctuary is the most luxurious and beautiful location to hold a wedding. I could not fault it. The wedding joglo is so authentic and beautiful, our wedding photos just look amazing :) Our guests were so impressed by the villas beauty, photos just don’t do it justice, it needs to be seen to be believed. It is like being in your own private resort without having to deal with other guests. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Easily the most incredible place I have ever stayed at. The landscape of the villa is just perfect, all of which looks over the river. Having the entire villa to ourselves made it even more enjoyable as we were able to make it our home for the week. This made it difficult to leave as we had just about everything we needed!

Any problems that you may have, the staff are straight on it and are very efficient with your needs. The chefs will cook to your requirements at whatever time you request. The drivers will take you wherever you want to go, whenever you want to go.

I definitely recommend staying at villa the sanctuary as it will make your Bali experience just that much better.

“Best ever Villa holiday! The Sanctuary, Canggu Bali.”

Where do I start?? The Sanctuary is incredible!

It is a credit to Frank, the Manager, and to Eddy and the team who operate and run what must be one of the best designed and laid out Villas in Bali. The photos on the internet do not do this place justice. From the minute we walked in to the property everyone in our party, my sons 18th birthday with friends, the comments just kept coming as we (literally) explored the entire Villa. Starting with the dining and relaxation area above the swimming pool, to the bedrooms and bathrooms, then the Master Suite, everyone was totally amazed at where they would be staying for the next week. The rooms are are private, secure and equipped with everything you could wish for.

The staff are friendly, incredibly efficient and more than willing to help with any request you may have. The Kitchen staff are easy to work with and sooo flexible, late for meals? no problems, Need more food? No problems, Special meals? No problems.

In fact nothing seems to be a problem at The Sanctuary, Extra vehicles for transport, late night returns after clubbing in Kuta, all is arranged and just simply works.

In fact, if you can’t relax and enjoy a holiday at The Sanctuary, may I suggest you just stay home and watch re-runs of Days of Our Lives. Mick and Lina from Jakarta, with our son and 12 of his friends from Adelaide
