Tranquil Waters more than lives up to its dreamy name. Built on the banks of Negombo Lagoon on the west coast of Sri Lanka, this elegant villa offers a setting and a sense of space that allow guests to press pause and breathe easy. The villa’s vast lawns gaze over the lagoon and provide ample room for fun and play or a serene moment of stillness. The three-bedroom villa is built in a U-shape around a sleek swimming pool with vast windows allowing guests to enjoy the beautiful scenery no matter which room they occupy.

Polished stone floors and concrete walls give the rooms a fresh contemporary air while beautifully curated antique pieces and elegant textiles root the villa in the local culture. Though the outdoor areas are enticing, there is much to occupy guests indoors as well. The decked out media room and the scenic rooftop terrace both deserve a special mention. The villa is surrounded by neat green lawns and graced by lush tropical trees which frame the dreamy lagoon stretching out to the horizon. There is a measured elegance to the whole property, from the streamlined structures to the elegant interiors which masterfully combine contemporary aesthetics with curated antiques and art pieces. That effortless refinement leaves room for unapologetic luxury – who’s up for a movie night in the private cinema or some stargazing up on the rooftop terrace?

Living Room

The living room is a beautifully styled space that’s surrounded by full wall glass on two sides. This ensures direct views of the pool and garden while you relax on the elegant off-white sofa or one of the matching armchairs. Monochrome and aqua blue textiles add depth and interest to the décor while beautiful objects d’art introduce a touch of Sri Lankan heritage. But this elegant space is not your only option as this lavishly spacious villa offers several areas to lounge around in. Our favourite might just be the breezy patio on the upper floor. Besides two red sofas and well curated curios and art pieces, this space also features a telescope that’s perfect for stargazing.

Dining Room

The dining room is a refined yet relaxed space located on the villa’s ground floor. This space is surrounded by sliding glass doors which you can leave open to feel a connection to the gardens or close to enjoy a break from the elements. Polished concrete floors give the space a modern industrial feel while the timber furniture and lanterns suspended over the dining table provide a cosy local twist. The long dining table can comfortably seat eight people. The dining area is seamlessly adjoined by a well-appointed kitchen.

Cinema Room

The cinema room is a space where guests can truly be immersed in silver screen magic and get lost in great music. The room features a massive projector screen and an epic sound system with cosy arm chairs to relax on. The walls are adorned with classic movie posters and lined with an impressive collection of vinyl records. It truly is every cinema lover’s and audiophile’s dream!

Garden

Just as the villa’s evocative name suggests, Tranquil Waters sits on the banks of serene Negombo Lagoon. The villa’s beautifully maintained gardens cascade over two levels with manicured lawns perfect for gentle strolls while you admire the surrounding greenery. Lush vines cascade down from the villa’s upper floor, while majestic palms and luscious trees frame the views looking over the lagoon. At the centre of this serene tableau is a divine 12-metre-long swimming pool that’s poised for fun filled splashes and more rigorous laps alike. There is lounge furniture by the pool and a rooftop terrace to boot. Both of them are ideal for fully appreciating the natural beauty that surrounds the property.

Tranquil Waters is a three-bedroom villa decorated in cool contemporary style with beautiful nods to local Sri Lankan heritage. The raw concrete walls, vibrant textiles and eclectic art feel irresistibly modern, while the timber finishings and curated curios provide a touch of the local culture. Each bedroom offers all the essentials and added comforts needed for a relaxing stay with furnishings including a king-sized bed, writing desk and ample closets. Each bedroom also has a well-appointed ensuite bathroom.

Tranquil Waters is a three-bedroom villa that’s divided into two pavilions. The main building houses the living and dining areas and two bedrooms – one on the ground floor and one upstairs. This building also has a rooftop terrace. The second pavilion houses the third bedroom and the cinema room. Tranquil Waters features extensive gardens and a 12-metre-long swimming pool.

Villa Manager

Tranquil Waters’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. The villa manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.

Housekeeping

You didn’t think you would be expected to clean while enjoying time off did you? All of our villas include housekeeping to tidy up the villa, arrange the laundry services, wash up and simply make sure you don’t lift a finger whilst on holiday with the family.

Butlers

Butlers are on hand everyday to assist with serving during meal times and attend to other guest requirements throughout your stay.

Chef

The villa’s skilled private chef will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children’s suggestion menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements.

Security

It’s nice to know you have security and many villas will have full-time guards or night time security available. Additional security can also be arranged if the villa doesn’t include any in the daily rate.
