Living Room
The living room is an incredibly elegant space filled with natural light and luscious views of the surrounding nature. Full wall windows give this space a fresh modern feel that’s echoed in the streamlined furniture. A grey L-shaped sofa creates a stylish setting for relaxed mingling, with house plants and designer furniture adding to the eclectic elegance of the space. A white brick partition wall separates this seating area from a cosy library where guests can peruse the stocked bookshelves and get lost in a good story while relaxing on the grey sofa that’s piled high with plump pillows.
Dining Room
The dining area is a fluid extension of the light and spacious living room. The dining table with its beautifully rounded corners is surrounded by eight wicker chairs, with full wall windows revealing beautiful views of the pool and out to the surrounding rice fields. For a more luscious setting, there is also an intimate dining table out in the garden which is as suited for lazy breakfasts as it is for special barbecues when the garden is lit up by torches. Guests can wander across the vast lawns and discover the vegetables, herbs and spices that grow on the property – the villa staff will be happy to introduce you to the local flora. At the heart of the property sits a magnificent 12-metre-long pool that feels like your own private jungle oasis, surrounded by lush greenery on all sides and gazing out to the mesmerizing paddy fields. Villa Alba Layout
Villa Alba is a five-bedroom split level villa. As you enter the villa, you’re first greeted by the living and dining room which looks out to the 12-metre-long pool waiting right outside. Looking out towards the pool, there are two bedrooms to the right hand side and three to the left. From the poolside terrace, stairs lead down to the lawned garden area below.
Villa Alba Staff
Your stay in Villa Alba is made enjoyable by the professional staff. Villa Alba’s staff have been professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly Sri Lankan hospitality.
Villa Manager
Villa Alba’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. The villa manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.
Housekeeping
Housekeepers attend the villa daily to take care of all domestic duties.
Butlers
Butlers are on hand daily to assist with serving during meal times and attend to other guest requirements throughout the day.
Chef
The villa’s skilled private chef will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children’s suggestion menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements.
Security
It’s nice to know you have security and many villas will have full-time guards or night time security available. Villa Alba has 24-hour security guards.
Location
Villa Alba is located in Koggala on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. Nestled in the village of Thiththagalla, the villa offers a peaceful setting surrounded by rice fields, palm trees and nearby cinnamon plantations. Though this incredibly serene setting is ideal for some R and R, there is also a whole world of activities waiting practically in your back yard. Head to Kabalana Beach for a heart pounding surf session or set your course for Koggala Lake for a scenic boat ride – both can be reached within a 10-minute drive from the villa. There are fascinating tea and cinnamon plantations to visit and the local national parks offer amazing wildlife sightings. The Udawalawe and Yala National Parks are both located within a 2.5 hour drive from the villa – the perfect excuse for an unforgettable daytrip!

Villa Alba is just gorgeous! A masterpiece of design with every choice of materials, furnishings and angles working harmoniously together.
Our bedroom was superb: spacious, very comfortable and with an outdoor bathroom where the mirror is suspended from the ceiling against a lush garden backdrop, inspiring.
Every meal was delicious and beautifully presented, and the pool was always the perfect temperature for a refreshing dip at any hour.
Finally, it was so peaceful – we did not hear a single man-made sound during our entire stay, just the tweeting of birdsong in the morning and mellow tunes from the sound system in the evening.

The Alba Villa is quite possibly the most architecturally beautiful place I’ve stayed at. It is about a 15 minute drive from the Ahangama town and the beach. The staff members are polite and attentive.
The Sri Lankan breakfast is out of this world. Don’t look any further if you are planning a trip to Ahangama.

And for our kids? The in-house chefs delivered amazing Western dishes that had them smiling every mealtime (and asking for seconds). Every dish was fresh, vibrant, and clearly made with love.
The villa itself is beautiful—open, airy, and perfectly nestled in the lush landscape. It’s serene and stylish without being fussy, and the staff were exceptional—always on hand but never intrusive, anticipating needs before we even voiced them.

Tharu led the team with warmth and professionalism, Chef Krishan amazed us with his mesmerizing dishes, and Kalana was incredibly kind and attentive, especially with our children. The Villa it’s amazing, you completely disconnect from the chaotic Ahangama out there! Lots of greens out room and well furnished bedrooms that you feel you don’t want to leave!
Great value for the stay! If you are wanting to go out a lot, it’s not very close to the center of Ahangama you would need a Tuktuk ride!

Wonderfully beautiful villa
In January we were here for the second time. We were warmly welcomed. The villa has only 5 rooms. The rooms are very large, have a nice terrace. From the terrace you can watch peacocks, water buffaloes and monkeys – just wonderful. The bathroom is also beautiful and generous. Breakfast is great – there are fruits, banana bread, bread, buffalo yogurt and a meal you can choose from the menu every day. The food at the villa is very fine, it is worth eating here in the evening.
The location is great.
The whole team is trying, but we would like to thank Khalana in particular.

We had the most amazing time in Villa Alba. The personnel of the villa treated us with a kind smile everyday and were always happy to help us to make our trip memorable. We were extremely pleased for the beautiful breakfast set up that was arranged for us upon request on our balcony.
The rooms were always spotless due to great daily housekeeping and had gorgeous lay outs and views to the rice paddy fields. I especially enjoyed listening to the sound of the birds and crickets in the early mornings and late evenings.
The food service at the villa was incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed every breakfast, especially the Sri Lankan breakfast option, and I fell in love with buffalo curd in all its forms.
Thank you for arranging a holiday that we’ll always remember fondly. We hope to come back soon to enjoy Sri Lanka and Villa Alba!

Tranquil Escape at Villa Alba, Ahangama Sri Lanka
What a true hidden gem in Sri Lanka. Surrounded by sooo much lush greenery and frequent peacock visits, this villa offers a special tranquil escape. It was my first visit to this beautiful and charming island and I loved the spacious room, comfortable bed, the citronella turndown service, the smell was intoxicating, the tea facilities were luxurious (I even brought them home and included it into my daily evening ritual), and the views of the rice paddies were stunning.
The common facilities, especially the open-air dining area, pool, waterfall, and the library (complete with binoculars!), were fantastic. Food was incredible and the space was so relaxing I only left the villa once.
All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making my 5-day stay excellent. I’d return to this peaceful paradise in a heartbeat and would say it’s been one of my best trips of my lifetime.

Amazing stay at Villa Alba!
What an amazing hidden gem and perfect place to spend our honeymoon. We had the most wonderful 5 nights at Villa Alba. Our room was stunning and had the most beautiful views.
The staff were extremely attentive and accommodating and made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived and throughout our whole stay – they really couldn’t do enough for us and were always so happy and polite.
The menu and food at the villa was outstanding and always so beautifully presented. We particularly loved the pool area, comfortable sun loungers and views over the beautiful gardens and rice fields.
The villa very kindly organised a safari for us at Udawalawe National Park – this is a must when staying in Sri Lanka. A day we will remember forever.
Location is peaceful and only 10 minutes from the beach. Very easy to get to by tuk tuk which the villa very kindly organised for us during our stay.
We really can’t fault anything about this villa. We really hope to return in the future will be recommending it to all of our friends. If you are considering booking Villa Alba please don’t think twice, you won’t regret it!

Our second stay here. Everything is perfect. It’s peaceful and beautiful and the rooms are incredible comfortable. The staff are excellent led by the very efficient manager Tharu and we had the best massage from Sampath… highly recommend.
It is a bit outside Ahangama – easy to get a Tuk into town or the beach – but we like being able to escape the noise afterwards and Villa Alba with its views over Paddi fields provides exactly that. And the rice comes for the delicious meals they produced for us comes from those paddi fields !!
You can’t go wrong booking this place. We can’t wait to return!
