Checking into Villa Leakhena feels like getting free range over your own private boutique hotel. With 12 bedrooms, ample living areas, an invitingly sparkling pool and a serene sense of privacy, this villa is primed for hosting an entourage. While the design is fresh and modern (think pristine white walls, clean angles and wide open windows), it also gives beautiful nods to local Cambodian heritage with wood carvings, art pieces and curios dotted throughout the sprawling property. Lush green plants, fish ponds and water features add an irresistible tropical twist.

Living Room

The main living room sits on the ground floor with glass doors looking out to the pool and garden. You can leave the doors open to enjoy a tropical breeze or close them to cool off in air-conditioned comfort. The room is dominated by two plush grey sofas dotted with eclectic pillows – a great setup for relaxed chats and naps, whether with a large group or on your own. Tropical house plants and fascinating objet d’art add a Cambodian flavour to the room. If you prefer to spend your time outdoors (and who wouldn’t in a setting so lovely and lush!), the poolside pavilion is furnished with sofas, armchairs and a pair of playful swing chairs. There is a generous sofa right by the pool as well.

Dining Room

The formal dining area is incorporated into the grand living room. The impressive dining table is crafted from a single slab of wood and features artful carvings. It is surrounded by long bench seats on either side, inviting the whole group to gather around for relaxed meals. If you prefer to dine alfresco, there is a beautiful pavilion out by the pool, fitted with a long timber dining table and an open plan kitchen.

Garden & Pool

Right on arrival, guests are given a delicious taste of life in the tropics. Villa Leakhena’s entrance is framed by tropical greenery and serene fish ponds, with water cascading down from the balcony above. The villa itself is built in an L-shape around a sparkling 15-metre-long pool that’s surrounded by a generous row of sun beds and parasols and a stylish sofa. With each of the poolside bedrooms flanked by a private terrace, the setup really does resemble your own private resort – the pool even has a shallow splash zone for the kiddos! Close to the pool, a lovely shaded pavilion invites guests to gather around for alfresco meals (there’s an open plan kitchen tucked right behind the dining area) or to enjoy lazy chats while relaxing on one of the sofas or swinging in a boho chic nest chair.

Villa Leakhena features 12 bedrooms. The bedrooms combine natural wood with fresh white linen and matching walls and provide a variety of bedding configurations, including two king-sized beds available in three bedrooms. There is plenty of opportunity to drink in the scenery, as the ground floor bedrooms open to the poolside terrace and the upstairs bedrooms are adjoined by a balcony. Several rooms interconnect, so there is a variety of sleeping arrangements for guests to choose from. What’s more, two of the bedrooms interconnect to create a two-bedroom “apartment” complete with a private living and dining area.

Villa Leakhena is a 12-bedroom villa that’s built over two floors. The ground floor houses the living and dining areas and five bedrooms. There are seven more bedrooms located upstairs, including a two-bedroom “apartment” with a private living room and kitchen. The villa is built in an L-shape around a 14 x 5 metre swimming pool.

Villa Manager

Leakhena’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. The villa manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.

Housekeeping

Housekeepers attend the villa daily to take care of all domestic duties.

Butlers

Butlers are on hand 24 hours a day to assist with serving during meal times and attend to other guest requirements throughout the day.

Villa Leakhena is located in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The villa offers a wonderful, serene setting amid rice fields and local homes just minutes from the vibrant centre of Siem Reap. There are a few great restaurants (including Nearadey Café and Le Cul-de-Sac) within a five-minute radius. What’s more, it only takes 5 – 10 minutes to reach the restaurants, cafes and boutiques waiting in downtown Siem Reap which has blossomed into a real culinary and creative hub. Of course, one cannot visit Siem Reap without checking Angkor Wat off their bucket list and luckily, it only takes 15 minute to reach the iconic temple complex from Villa Leakhena.
