Sitting pretty on a wide sandy beach in idyllic Hikkaduwa, Villa Saffron offers a divine taste of beachfront living in Sri Lanka. Designed by renowned Sri Lankan architect C. Anjalendran, this beachfront haven is filled by art and antiques lovingly chosen by the owners.
The villa features five beautifully appointed bedrooms, each adjoined by a private terrace and an ensuite bathroom – two rooms even come with ocean view Jacuzzis! The living areas are light and spacious and the only thing standing between the villa and the beach is a vast private pool and a divine stretch of tropical greenery.

Villa Saffron Living
That Villa Saffron was created as a true passion project by the owners is evident in every detail of the property. The villa has a relaxed beach house feel to it, with a beautiful collection of Sri Lankan art and artefacts giving gentle nods to the island’s heritage. The direct beach access is simply the icing on the cake.
Living Room
The main living room occupies the ground floor, surrounded by sliding glass doors looking out to the pool and the beach waiting beyond. This relaxed space is furnished with light sofas and blue armchairs, with beautifully chosen art, curios and textiles adding a Sri Lankan twist to the space. You’ll find another relaxed lounge area on the upper floor, with two beige sofas dotted with plush cushions.
Dining Room
Dining at the villa is an alfresco affair, with guests invited to dine either on the shaded veranda or right by the surf where you get to indulge in a true toe-in-the-sand dining experience with the vast Indian Ocean as the unforgettable backdrop.
Garden
The villa is beautifully positioned right on the water’s edge, with a quaint little gate leading from the villa’s private grounds straight to the beach. The sumptuous swimming pool is framed by picture-perfect palm trees, with sun beds and a shaded veranda offering a delicious choice between sun and shade.

Villa Saffron has five bedrooms, each one uniquely designed and named. All bedrooms are furnished with king-sized beds and adjoined by ensuite bathrooms. Each bedroom also comes with a TV, minibar and coffee and tea making facilities.

Villa Saffron is a five-bedroom villa that’s built over two levels. The living and dining areas along with three bedrooms are located downstairs. Two more bedrooms are located on the upper floor. The villa has a private swimming pool and guests enjoy direct access to the beach.

Your stay in Villa Saffron is made enjoyable by the professional staff. Villa Saffron’s staff have been professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly hospitality.
Villa Manager
Villa Saffron’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. The villa manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.
Housekeeping
You didn’t think you would be expected to clean while enjoying time off did you? All of our villas include housekeeping to tidy up the villa, arrange the laundry services, wash up and simply make sure you don’t lift a finger whilst on holiday with the family.

Butlers are on hand every day to assist with serving during meal times and attend to other guest requirements throughout your stay.
Chef
The villa’s skilled private chef will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children’s suggestion menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements.

It’s nice to know you have security and many villas will have full-time guards or night time security available. Additional security can also be arranged if the villa doesn’t include any in the daily rate.
Location
Villa Saffron is located in Hikkaduwa on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. Guests enjoy direct access to a wide stretch of sandy beach. The villa sits about 2.5 kilometres from the town of Hikkaduwa with a selection of restaurants, cafes and shops within easy reach of the villa. The UNESCO-protected Galle Fort is about 30 minutes away by car.

An absolutely gorgeous, modern villa with colonial flourishes. Opening directly onto the beach, it has beautiful grounds, pool and direct access to the beach. We did a leisurely walk along the beach to turtle beach in Hikkadewa.
Also a 35 min TukTuk to Galle fort, which we explored in a day.
The staff were delightful, helpful and attentive. Chef prepared masterful dishes, with a flair for both European and traditional Sri Lankan dishes. A favourite was the grilled Modha (Sri Lankan barramundi) which was cooked to perfection.
A comfortable, luxurious beach side experience which we thoroughly enjoyed.

The highlight of my stay, though, was definitely the food! Chef Chaminda prepared delicious breakfasts and dinners for us every day, and Kasun, our butler, was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our stay.

the villa was absolutely beautiful and quaint..the location was fab right on the beach of Hikkaduwa. If you need to go to Galle it’s only an hour by tuk-tuk. Believe me, you won’t want to leave this place. The staff is very humble and courteous they always smiling and ready to help. Mr. Sunil is the best host you can come across he made our stay so comfortable. It really felt like a HOME FROM HOME. Every evening we had a little treat with our tea and coffee it felt special.

Villa Saffron was everything you’d expect, at that price. Great room with a big balcony. The shower room is also very spacious. All in all the entire room and hotel were great. The pool area is super relaxing, with comfy sun beds and absolute silence. The staff even let us use the pool area after having checked out since our transport was later in the afternoon. The food was very nice too!

The most wonderful and stunning hotel in Sri Lanka. Villa Saffron exceeded all our expectations, everything from the calm atmosphere, the lovely view, the fantastic room with a private jacuzzi on our balcony, the perfect location at the beach (short distance to the city “center”), the amazing breakfast and last but not least the wonderful staff. They took great care of us and were really courteous, and helped us with all our questions and desires during our stay. The staff’s hospitality was just wonderful. Our stay at Saffron Villa for a 3 night break in Hikkaduwa was wonderful and memorable. The hotel has such a homely feel, the staff are available to help and the pool is magnificent. Breakfasts are divine and we also had seafood dinner that we won’t ever forget. The property is furnished with such style. Nothing could have prepared us for the experience. We can only say thank you to the Sunil and the staff and congratulate the owners for having designed such a gem of a hotel.
