Wadano Woods Living
The Wadano Woods chalets offer the best of both worlds: luxurious seclusion in beautiful natural surroundings but still within a strolling distance from the ski slopes and restaurants. The chalets’ timber interiors are furnished with classic furniture, allowing for a clam and uncluttered feel throughout.
Living Room
Each chalet has open-plan living and dining areas. The living rooms include generous sofas and armchairs arranged around a large flatscreen television.
Dining Room
Built into the living room, the chalets’ dining areas can easily accommodate the whole group with a well-furnished Western style kitchen built into the back of the room.

The two bedroom + loft chalets have two full-sized bedrooms furnished with split beds (kings or singles) and a loft space with two sets of bunk beds.

Property Manager
The chalet’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the chalet. The property manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.
Housekeeping
Our chalets in Japan often have housekeeping 1 – 2 times per week depending on the property. Each chalet will have their own cleaning schedule.
Location
Wadano Woods chalets are where all the skiing fun is happening – the Hakuba valley in Nagano Prefecture. Located in Wadano in the Happo One Ski Resort, the chalets are no more than 10 minutes away by walk to the Happo ski lifts. Just opposite the chalets is a shuttle bus station where you can take bus rides to any of 13 ski lifts and 200 ski runs in the vicinity. Apart from fun in the snow, Hakuba is home to a variety of restaurants and local entertainment.

A haven in the Hakuba skifields
As a family of 6, including 2 young children, we stayed in one of the chalets. The quality from top to bottom was excellent. The room we were in was very comfortable, although note some bedding on offer are bunk beds or singles, which we can’t comment on. There is an ensuite for each bedroom, a large well equipped kitchen and a drying room for ski gear.
We found the pick up service offered as a part of the package was particularly useful – taking the pain out of getting around. A special thanks go out to Souza and Wills who went out of their way to assist us during our stay there. Also a thanks to Charlie who drove us only one time but was also very helpful.

An amazing place in the Nagano moutains
It’s a 3 story Chalet log house with every modern convenience you can images and also all normal resort services are available from the Hakuba Hotel Group, even though the location is on a mountain in the forest. Very peaceful.

Wonderful Wadano Ski Lodge
On a visit to Hakuba, we were fortunate enough to stay in a house that is exactly what I imagined a ski lodge would be like. The building, entirely made from pinewood, is comfortable, warm, welcoming and bright. The two large bedrooms have attached bathrooms and the lounge/dining/kitchen has to be seen to be believed. Not only is the space very large and well furnished but it also has large picture windows with typical winter views of snow draped forest trees. No doubt guests were meant to sit and stare while clutching warm mugs of cocoa.
The well equipped kitchen makes it very easy for families to prepare simple meals. For those who do not wish to be burdened with domestic chores, there’s a lovely restaurant and bar in the Gateway building within easy walking distance. The unit we stayed in is one in a cluster of 7 almost similar ( some have 3 bedrooms) lodges making it convenient for several families who are holidaying together. If we return this would definitely be my choice for a place to stay.
