Writer’s Lodge Living
Tucked amid the cobble stone streets of Galle Fort, Writer’s Lodge captures the region’s historic charm perfectly. With its stacked bookshelves, refined air, and ample lounges made for rest and contemplation, the villa truly feels like an artist’s refuge. Whether you spend most of your time out and about or relaxing back at the villa, you’re bound to go home feeling inspired.
Living Room
True to the villa’s name, the living room really is the ideal writer’s retreat. Almost a full wall is taken up by a stacked bookcase, with a plush white sofa placed opposite the window inviting guests to bury their nose in an inspiring tome. The room even has a writing desk where you can sketch out your own masterpiece.
Dining Room
The dining area boasts beautiful, tiled floors and a brick pillar which are stylishly juxtaposed by the room’s pure white walls. The dark timber dining table can comfortably seat six, with the dining area extending to the villa’s fully equipped kitchen.
Writer’s Lodge Bedrooms
Writer’s Lodge features two bedrooms which echo the villa’s historic charm. Both rooms feature beautiful four-poster beds, lounge furniture, wardrobes, and ensuite bathrooms.

The first bedroom benefits from a four-poster bed, plantation chair, and wardrobes. The ensuite bathroom is fitted with a rain shower, vanity, and a toilet.

Writer’s Lodge’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. The villa manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.

You didn’t think you would be expected to clean while enjoying time off did you? All of our villas include housekeeping to tidy up the villa, arrange the laundry services, wash up and simply make sure you don’t lift a finger whilst on holiday with the family.

Writer’s Lodge is located in Galle Fort in southern Sri Lanka. Dating back to the 16th century, Galle Fort with its historic buildings, cobble stone streets, and beautiful seaside views has a unique charm to it. Writer’s Lodge brings you within walking distance of everything the fort has to offer, including charming restaurants, bijou boutiques, Galle’s famous lighthouse, and the small beach that frames it. If you want to explore further, beautiful Unawatuna Beach is just a 20-minute drive away.

- A deposit of 50% of the total amount must be paid at the time of booking
- Final payment is required 60 days prior to arrival
- Check-in time: 2pm – check-out time: 11am
- Late check out until 6pm can be arranged at half the rental rate (subject to availability)
- Payment can be settled by credit card or PayPal (3% payment processing fee)
