Yuzen’s lavish living areas were made for entertaining and socialising in style, with huge windows and a sleek fireplace adding a wonderful wintry twist to each and every fete. After days spent scaling the slopes, nothing beats a soak in the chalet’s Japanese bath, followed by a good night’s sleep in one of the six bedrooms – will you go for the king-bed, the bunks or the tatami room? Spanning three floors and covering some 367 square metres, Yuzen is lavishly large in size, yet the chalet feels anything but bulky or gaudy. Large windows, natural building materials, thoughtful Japanese touches and a clever layout give the chalet a serene air that extends from the ground floor tatami room all the way to the scenic living areas housed on the top floor. With views gazing over peaceful Hokkaido forest, this effortlessly elegant chalet certainly lives up to its name which means “with a calm air” in Japanese.

Living

The whole top floor of this three-storey chalet is dedicated to having a good time with your crew. The open floor plan ensures that good conversation and good vibes can flow uninterrupted, whether you’re kicking back on the sofas or cooking up a storm in the adjoining kitchen. The lounge area features two sofas and a legless lounge chair – a funky modern take on the traditional zaisu chair. This seating area is framed by full wall windows on one side and a sleek modern fireplace on the other. It’s the perfect spot for curling up with a cup of cocoa or a glass of sake, relishing the warm glow of the fire as the snow falls outside.

Dining

The dining area is located on the other side of the open plan kitchen. The dining table is made from a beautifully carved slab of camphor wood, with plenty of room for the whole group to gather up for relaxed meals. The kitchen is fitted with all the essentials and then some, with equipment including a Miele oven, full-sized dishwasher and a wine cellar. When the weather permits, you can also enjoy barbecues out on the covered terrace.

Yuzen is a six-bedroom chalet. The bedrooms are rendered in calm hues of natural timber, soft grey and crisp white, mimicking the tranquil beauty of the surrounding forest. A whole range of sleeping arrangements are available. Two rooms have king-sized beds. One room has two singles or a king-sized bed – whichever suits you best. One room has two sets of bunk beds which can sleep four guests. There is a traditional tatami room which can sleep up to three guests on futon mattresses and finally, a “maid’s” room which can sleep two guests.

Yuzen is a six-bedroom chalet that’s built over three floors. The ground floor houses the ski room, standalone Japanese bath, tatami room and an extra “maid’s” bedroom. The middle floor houses four bedrooms, all of them ensuite. The top floor houses the living and dining room, media room and a covered terrace.

Your stay is made enjoyable by the professional staff who have been professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly hospitality.

Property Manager

The chalet’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the chalet. The property manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.

Housekeeping

Our chalets in Japan often have housekeeping 1 – 2 times per week depending on the property. Each chalet will have their own cleaning schedule.
