Working at Ministry of Villas gives me the opportunity to travel extensively for work and as a female business traveller I am always cautious. The countries we travel to so as to handpick our villas may not rank number one in terms of safety, yet they see throngs of visitors ranging from families, couples and even group of friends travelling together.

And, I’ve found that we’re becoming big business: the female travel industry is worth more than 19 trillion a year1 (and growing!), with every one in two female travellers reported having travelled solo2.

As such, I thought I should ‘help a sister out’- I’ve got your back: what you may not have known is that countries like Bali are amazing and see many international tourists but is not as safe as you think. You might arrive and find that your exquisite and beautiful villa is down a ‘gang’ (back street lane) or a dark alleyway. You might have to rethink that sundown dinner and drinks with friends at at Ku De Ta, seeing as it may not be as ideal if you don’t have (safe) transportation arranged to bring you back (no way are you walking!).

Bali Gang

So, I’ve single-handedly tried, tested and picked out the best, chic and unique places to stay as a female traveller in Seminyak (You’ll probably never get this advice from other villa providers). All of these private villas are not located down gangs, come with a private swimming pool and 24-hour security, 24-hour reservations and front desk services. Which means that there is always someone on call. And, the best part is: the properties won’t burn a hole in your pocket! So power to the women. Travel far, Travel safe.
