It was my first time to Ubud, and I am so glad that I was able to spend my time at the gorgeous Aria Villas. My partner and I were a little lost coming back from the Gili Islands and were dropped off at the Coco Mart in Ubud with not much knowledge on how/where to get a taxi to make our way to the villa. We subsequently rang the General Manager, Karim, who immediately sent a driver named Gusti to pick us up on the spot!

Gusti is one of the most amazing drivers I have met during my time here in Bali. He collected us with a large smile on his face, and never said no to anything. We brought us around Ubud until we found an international ATM to draw cash, and enriched us with the history and culture of Bali as well as local area. Not to mention, his father was one of the pioneering wood carving artists in the Gianyar region. Gusti was incredibly knowledgeable, caring and accommodating. If you have him as your driver for a day, you are in good hands!

Aria Villas – A Perfect Escape

The rooms were large and simply laid out, with extremely large bathrooms complete with his and her amenities and compartments. The inviting pool can be described as an azure type of blue colour, with the infinity-edge trickling right over into the jungle below. There is also an intimate gazebo area with sofa bed and chairs where you can enjoy meals, or lay down to read a book.

As a world-class spa, we opted for an Aria Signature massage which was done incredibly skilfully and professionally by two lovely therapists. Costing approx. USD$40, the therapists worked their magic on us, starting with foot cleansing with herbs and organic bath salts, and then allowing us to choose our massage oil for the session (ranging from citrus lemongrass, Vitamin E coconut oil, ylang ylang, etc.). We chose to have the massage outside in the exotic garden, listening to the chirping and singing of the birds and nature all around (but make sure you burn some lemongrass essence to keep any mosquitoes at bay)!

I was totally relaxed AND ready for bed after the massage, so we decided to order in for dinner: we had Soto Ayam (chicken soup) and spring rolls, both of which cost us about SGD$19. Very reasonably priced for the quality of the food that came out! Breakfast was equally outstanding. We had poached eggs with toast that is specially ordered from Monsieur Spoon (a famous local bakery) and fresh coffee. Aria Villas’ breakfast menu changes daily so you’re in for a treat if you’re staying there for a week.

Aria Villas’ locale is also ideal. It’s within walking distance to top-rated restaurants like Naughty Nuri and Bali Buddha. There are also rows of boutique shops close by where you can purchase souvenirs and gifts.

I’d very much recommend Aria Villas for couples or small families looking for a fresh, clean and relaxing holiday with modern amenities completing the perfect escape from the world!
