Staying in Villa Kubu
Villa Kubu is a boutique villa resort with 17 private villas located within the same secure complex. The complex if guarded by security staff and monitored by CCTV cameras. This gives Villa Kubu a great sense of security and privacy, even in the heart of bustling Seminyak.
And really, the location couldn’t be much more central. Villa Kubu is within walking distance of great restaurants like Grain and Pearl Restaurant Bali. Same goes for the ever-convenient Bintang Supermarket. Seminyak Beach is five minutes away by car.
Kubu offers villas with one, two and three bedrooms, making this a great option for couples and families alike. Each villa has its own private pool and high protective walls ensuring absolute privacy. The villas share the same light colour scheme and classic decor, but each villa has a unique look and feel to it. Our team stayed in a one-bedroom villa and loved it.
Thatched roof bales and lagoon shaped pools paired together with lush gardens and cooing song birds… In a word, Villa Kubu feel like a timeless Balinese oasis hidden in the heart of modern-day Seminyak.

Fine Balinese Dining
Before taking a tour of the beautiful estate, Ministry of Villas team settled down for lunch in Villa Kubu’s The Oasis restaurant. The venue has a lush garden setting and amazingly, there are no sounds of traffic. The overall vibe is oh-so relaxing.
We were treated to delicious Balinese grilled snapper and healthy energizing juice – always welcome in the Bali sun! The food was beyond delicious and incredibly beautifully presented. The yin yang styling of the red and white rice deserves a special mention!
The Oasis is not the only dining option available in Villa Kubu. Guests staying in the villas can also opt for in-villa dining – the private barbecue feasts in particular are a popular choice.
Villa Kubu also offers some of the most tempting breakfast options in Bali – or how does starting your day with Belgian waffles with mixed berries and vanilla crème chantilly sound to you?
Spa Heaven
No Bali microcosms is complete without a divine spa and next to The Oasis restaurant, you’ll find Villa Kubu’s very own Spa Venus. Choose a Balinese massage or opt for a Cleopatra pearl facial. Villa Venus also has a far-infrared sauna and offers pampering baths and body scrubs. Private yoga classes are also available.
True to the glorious villa lifestyle, you can also enjoy Spa Venus’ treatments in the privacy of your own villa.
Both Spa Venus and The Oasis are also open for outside guests not staying in Villa Kubu – though why you would want to stay anywhere else in Seminyak is beyond me.
