Catching a Bus From Chitose Airport to Niseko

So you have booked a trip to Niseko and now you need to figure out how to get to Hirfu, Niseko. Niseko’s ski resort is 110km from New Chitose Airport (CTS). We offer a range of transfer options from Chitose Airport to Niseko. We can arrange arrival and departure coach transfers between New Chitose Airport and Hirafu Welcome Centre for guests that have booked accommodation with Ministry of Villas & Powderlife.com. A bus certainly is the cheapest option but you can also take a private transfer if you prefer.

Arriving at Chitose Airport

The airport is very efficient and we cleared customs and immigration in 20 minutes. However you have to collect bags and find the bus counter so we always recommend giving yourself at least 1 hour after you arrive to catch the next bus. Best not to pre-book a bus too early after you land just incase you have a flight delay. Many of the bus companies are strict and if you miss the first bus they will try and get you on the next bus but no refunds are available if you do miss the transfer and they can’t get you on the next transfer.

How do I Find the Bus Counter?

After you exit the terminal, look out for signs directing you to the bus counters. Once there you’ll see several counters. You should have been given a document with the bus company details when placing the booking.

Make sure you are 10 minutes early, it’s Japan so the buses leave on time. The staff will register you and then ask you to wait for the rest of the guests so you can all be taken outside to jump on the bus.

On My Way

Catching the bus to Niseko takes 2.5 – 3 hours but is also one of the prettiest drives. Half way the bus also stops for 20 minutes for you to stock up on snacks and take a toilet break.

Arriving at The Welcome Centre

There are a couple different bus stops to get off at. Most people staying in Hiarfu get off at The Welcome Centre (bus terminal) however if you are staying at Niseko Village or the Hilton hotel then get off at the Hilton Niseko Village stop. Make sure to speak with your accommodation provider to check which is the best stop for you.

Where Are You Staying?

If you booked accommodation with an agency they might be collecting you from the bus stop. Best to find out prior to arrival as some hotels, chalets and apartments do not provide a pick up or drop off service. If you don’t have a pick up waiting for you then the taxi office is right next door to The Welcome Centre. You can book a taxi and will cost you approximately Y1,000 ($10) for a small group.

We Can Book Transfers for You!

Take the stress out of travelling by letting our reservations team book the extras for you such as transfers. It’s the same price to book accommodation with an agent such as Ministry of Villas or Powderlife yet the major difference is we have a free concierge service you can use to book any extras for the upcoming trip.
