Nusa Lembongan, a tiny paradisal island located just off the southern coast of Bali, boasts amazing white sandy bays belted with turquoise waters and fringed with swaying coconut palms. The island is known for offering incredible views, a relaxed way of life and a lack of major tourism development. Although the island is dotted with luxurious villas and a wide selection of dining and drinking options, shopping in Nusa Lembongan is a rather low-key. There are still some tempting opportunities for indulging in a little retail therapy.

1. The Walking Tree Boutique

There are two outlets of the Walking Tree Boutique on Nusa Lembongan. One of them is tucked away in Sandy Bay, while the other is located along the main road in Jungut Batu village, opposite Lemongrass Restaurant and Bar. Walking Tree Boutique offers fantastic range of tropical clothing including swimwear and flip-flops. The shop also offers eyewear and other accessories, as well stocking house decorations, gift items and spa products.

As if this fashionable spread of apparel and accessories wasn’t enough, the Walking Tree also offers an ample selection of gourmet products from local and international suppliers. The stock includes fresh milk and dairy products, imported high-quality cheeses, fine meats and wines from all around the world. You can even pick up some homemade chutneys, jams and fresh bread.

2. Local Shops in the Jungut Batu

There are numerous local shacks and tiny shops selling fresh fruit, vegetables, local snacks, water and other beverages as well as offering some basic necessities including sunscreen, bug sprays and other toiletries. You can find street stalls lining the main road offering sarongs, Bintang-logo knick-knacks and other souvenirs where you can try your hand at bargaining and shop for some souvenirs. However, take into account that the prices in Nusa Lembongan prices are usually significantly higher than those in Bali.

Nusa Lembongan boasts incredible diving and snorkelling as well as offering some world-class surf breaks. The island also tempts visitors with palatial villas, tranquil yoga classes and movies under the stars… With all of this going on, it’s little surprise that the island is exactly a shopping mecca. After all – who needs shopping when you’re already in paradise?
