Our Favourite Seminyak Restaurant
Hidden down a lane known as Jalan Sari Dewi, just opposite The Elysian villas is a funky restaurant. The Straw Hut has been around a couple years now and is a hidden treasure. Most people stick to the main streets when visiting Bali but this lane is right next to the Oberoi and only 10 minutes off the main street.
Open daily this true find has a simple design inside almost a little retro. Look up and the Straw Hut lives up to it’s name with a traditional Alang Alang roof.
Apart from the very cool atmosphere The Straw Hut has incredible food! We eat the same thing every day and never get sick of it. Most meals start from 30,000Rp ($3) to 70,000Rp ($7). Head here for breakfast, lunch or dinner and it takes hardly any time to be served. The fresh coconuts are 20,000Rp (less than $2) and are served chilled. They also serve herbal health drinks, fresh juice and Italian coffee. Service is quick and prices are very reasonable for the quality of the ingredients.
There is a great lounge when you walk into the hut on your right. The Wi-Fi is super fast if you are looking to chill out and check emails this is the perfect place.
