Koh Samui continues to impress as one of Thailand’s most alluring island destinations – and this time, we found ourselves in the laid-back coastal area of Bang Por. Known for its peaceful beaches and authentic local charm, Bang Por offered the perfect setting for a short but memorable stay. Though we were only there for one night (far too short in our opinion!), the experience gave our team a refreshing taste of island life – and a fantastic introduction to this side of Samui.
A Grand Welcome
Villa Murano is an incredible nine bedroom villa. From the moment we stepped through the statement-making front door, we knew we were in for something special. The expansive open plan living and dining area made an immediate impact, blending a contemporary all-white palette with sleek design details that gave the space an effortlessly cool vibe. Even those of us who usually lean toward more traditional styles were completely won over.
Our group was warmly welcomed by the villa team, with a special thank you to Jeremy for the personal tour and for making our stay possible. The team’s hospitality set the tone for a smooth and relaxing stay.
Space to Unwind and Connect
The villa’s layout is thoughtfully designed to cater to groups. With guest rooms spaced throughout the property, everyone had the freedom to enjoy their own space — while the inviting communal areas made it easy to come together and connect. Whether it was lounging poolside, enjoying the entertainment in the games room, watching a latest hit in the cinema or sharing meals, the villa struck the perfect balance between privacy and togetherness.
Elevated In-Villa Service
One of the highlights of our stay was the attentive in-villa service. In an era where many luxury accommodations are scaling back on service, this villa stands out for maintaining that elevated level of care that makes villa living so unique.
From warm greetings to helpful assistance throughout our stay, the villa team was professional and gracious. It was a refreshing reminder of what sets villa holidays apart from more conventional accommodation.
Dining Delights
Mealtimes were another standout. The food was beautifully prepared and packed with flavour, with fresh fruit platters and well-balanced dishes that catered to the tastes of our group.
It’s this kind of thoughtful in-villa dining experience that guests truly remember – delicious food served in the comfort of a private setting, with everything taken care of.
Relaxation & Rest
Each bedroom was a peaceful retreat, designed with comfort and style in mind. The bathrooms offered spa-like touches, including excellent water pressure in the showers – a small but crucial detail after a day of sun and island exploration.
Entertainment for All Ages
The villa’s games room is quite possibly one of the best we’ve seen in Asia. Whether you’re a pool shark, a gamer, or just looking to kick back with friends, the space offers something for everyone.
Dining in Fisherman’s Village
During our stay, we ventured out for dinner in Fisherman’s Village, just a 20-minute drive from the villa. This vibrant beachfront area in Bophut has a cool, cosmopolitan vibe and is home to some of the island’s best restaurants and boutiques. With its lively yet relaxed atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy sunset cocktails followed by a delicious meal overlooking the ocean. Whether you’re after fresh seafood, Thai favourites or international cuisine, Fisherman’s Village offers a great night out that’s easily accessible from Bang Por.
A Villa Worth Sharing
With a generous room count of 9 rooms, thoughtful layout, and exceptional value, this villa is easy to recommend – and even easier to love. Now that we’ve stayed ourselves, we’re confident our guests will fall in love with it just as quickly as we did.
