We immediately knew we would be good friends – Huberth and Dewa, the villa manger and housekeeper welcomed us at the door at 8pm in the evening with big smiles even though we were delayed by 4 hours.
The check-in process at was painless: Huberth ensured that we were all well settled before giving us the tour. He enquired about our day and travels and brought us around the villa to have a look at all the rooms and facilities giving a friendly mood although it was late.
Villa M Bali Seminyak is an impressive five-bedroom property that is suited for large families or group of friends on holiday. Moreover, it is also a great place for a bunch of girlfriends to feel safe on a trip looking for a place to stay in the heart of the action and walking distance in heels. It’s located 50 metres down a little alleyway off the main road, and the 24-hour security service makes it a safe abode.
Skylight bathroom- Check!
We stayed in the master bedroom which had a large double bed and I have to stay it was one of the most comfortable beds that I’ve ever slept in! It was a chore to wake up each morning.
The bathroom was absolutely funky – it had large glass doors that allowed for plenty of natural light and the icing on the cake was the bathtub that had a skylight roof. That meant that you don’t have to be soaking yourself out in the open gardens and getting a tan while trying to enjoy your novel, but instead, you can do it in the comfort in the indoors (the bathrooms were also air-conditioned).
Pool paradise
The impressive private pool was a big hit with all of us. As Villa M Bali Seminyak can sleep up to 10 guests across five rooms, we could envision this area becoming the communal ground for friends or family on holiday to frolic or relax – take your pick. Drinks by the pool (or in the pool!) could become the norm for your holiday.
The staff which includes our favourite Dewa, never say no to anything. If you’re tired or hungry or need something done, let them know and they’d do it for you as fast as they can and always with a big smile.
What’s around for feeding the family
Huberth and Faine, who became like family after our stay, introduced us to lunch at Warung Sulwesi which was right next door (which always smells great and is a local favourite). This Javanese meal we each had was amazing – and the freshly squeezed orange juice is a must-try.
Right across the road is Warung Eropa which has the best crispy duck and Soto Ayam in all of Bali (of which we can attest!). Along the same lane is The Butcher’s Club, famous for its dry-cured meat in their burgers, as well as the fine-dining extravangance of Merah Putih. Biku Cafe, known for its high tea and selection of cakes, is also close by.
For party lovers, you’ll be excited to know that the W, Potato Head, Mirrors, Mint and Shanghai Baby are all within a five to ten-minute walking distance to the property. So get your dancing shoes on!
