Designed by GFAB Architects, House of Herring lives up to its cutting-edge pedigree. As you enter the villa, a large pivot door reveals a beautiful atrium with a walkway looking down to the living areas below. This gives you a first taste of the incredible ocean views which are consistent throughout the property, including from all four bedrooms. The villa’s design beautifully fuses modern aesthetics with natural materials, mixing teakwood with bold concrete and local palimanan floors. The end result is nothing short of sensational.

Living Room

The living room is a grand space opening to panoramic views of the ocean and crowned by a double height ceiling. An elegant sunken lounge offers ample space for socialising and relaxing in style, with a woven carpet and timber furniture adding a subtle bohemian touch to the space. The living room can be left fully open to enjoy a fresh breeze. Alternatively, the glass doors can be closed when you prefer to take a break from the elements.

Dining Room

The dining area is a fluid extension of the spacious living room. A few steps up from the sunken lounge area, a timber dining table can comfortably seat all eight guests staying at the villa. The dining area is framed by glass doors looking over the infinity pool and out to the ocean. The dining area is adjoined by an open plan kitchen which is both aesthetically pleasing and well equipped for preparing both light snacks and more substantial meals – all the while enjoying fabulous ocean views.

Garden

Surrounded by stunning natural landscape and lush tropical greenery, much of your time at the villa will likely be spent outdoors. A jaw-dropping L-shaped infinity pool offers all the more reason to slap on the sun screen and embrace the great outdoors. Hugging the modern contours of the villa, the pool also includes a shaded section and a shallow splash area for younger swimmers. The pool is surrounded by extensive deck areas offering the perfect setting for sunset gazing over the Indian Ocean. Gather around the alfresco dining table and enjoy an impromptu barbecue or settle for a round of cocktails at the sunken lounge. Either way, you’ll be treated to front row views of Lombok’s breathtaking landscape.

House of Herring features four bedrooms all housed in a single line on the villa’s upper floor. The bedrooms feature beautiful teakwood floors and ceilings and they are all framed by full wall windows looking out to the ocean. All bedrooms feature king-sized beds and flatscreen TVs and they are each adjoined by an ensuite bathroom.

House of Herring is a four-bedroom villa that’s built over two levels. All four bedrooms are located on the upper floor which also houses the villa’s entrance. From this floor, a half-turn staircase leads down to the open plan living and dining areas. This same floor also houses the villa’s 101 square metre infinity pool and outdoor lounge areas. House of Herring is located at the Tampah Hills villa estate.
