Talalla House Living
Talalla House is hugged by a quintessentially Sri Lankan concrete screen, which allows for a fresh breeze to flow through the rooms while keeping out the heat of the sun. This cooling effect is further enhanced by the innovative rooftop garden. It’s impossible to describe Talalla House without highlighting the impressive beach which you’ll find waiting right outside.
Living Room
The living room can be used as a breezy open-plan lounge in true tropical style, with the massive infinity pool glimmering just outside. As the night continues, the rooms’ French doors can be closed for added privacy. The décor is a carefully curated mix of modern furniture and indigenous influences, complete with a hand-woven rattan screen alongside plush red sofas and a sleek teakwood bar.
Dining Room
Sharing the same space with the living room, the dining table of polished cement is definitely the room’s WOW-factor. Seating up to 14 guests, the striking table is perched beneath a custom-made lantern with mesmerising vistas of the ocean working as the unforgettable backdrop of your every meal. The fluid space is adjoined by a fully-furnished kitchen. The kitchen is only available for staff to use.
Garden & Pool
Talalla House’s stunning pool is the heart and soul of the property, with its 20-metre length running parallel to the whole villa with a freeform shape hugging the living spaces seamlessly. The pool features a convenient shallow end, which allows kids to splash around safely under their parents’ watchful eye. Not to mention the pool is strategically positioned to precisely deliver beautiful views overlooking the property’s own private beach.
Talalla House’s beautiful rooftop garden serves multiple functions. It not only helps keep the villa’s interior nice and cool amidst the humidity of the tropics, it also features a vegetable and spice garden, allowing for the ultimate plant-to-plate dining experience. Most importantly however, this rooftop oasis offers the absolute perfect setting for taking in an epic seaside sunset draped on one of the lounge chairs while holding a cold drink.

Talalla House has seven bedrooms. The five bedrooms are furnished with a king-sized bed and the other two bedrooms are furnished with a queen-sized bed. There are three bedrooms on the ground floor and four bedrooms are housed up on the first floor. Two of the ground floor rooms are housed in a seperate pavilion to the side of the pool.

Talalla House Layout
Talalla House is a seven-bedroom villa that’s built over three levels. The ground floor houses the living and dining areas, swimming pool and three bedrooms. The first floor houses four more bedrooms and a terrace which can also be used as a yoga space. The top floor houses the rooftop terrace and vegetable garden.
Talalla House Staff
Your stay in Talalla House is made enjoyable by the professional staff. Talalla House’s staff have been professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly hospitality.
Villa Manager
Talalla House’s experienced and knowledgeable manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. The villa manager will oversee and coordinate the staff and property and assist you during your stay.
Housekeeping
You didn’t think you would be expected to clean while enjoying time off did you? All of our villas include housekeeping to tidy up the villa, arrange the laundry services, wash up and simply make sure you don’t lift a finger whilst on holiday with the family.
Butlers
Butlers are on hand daily to assist with serving during meal times and attend to other guest requirements throughout the day.
Chef
Talalla House is staffed with a skilled private chef and dining at the villa is based on a full board concept. Guests will be charged the full cost of full board meals upon booking. If you choose to dine out and not at the villa, the cost of any meals not arranged will be later refunded. Meals are priced at USD $50 per day for adults and USD $25 for children – this includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Security
It’s nice to know you have security and many villas will have full-time guards or night time security available. Additional security can also be arranged if the villa doesn’t include any in the daily rate.

Talalla House boasts an absolute beachfront location on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. To access the paradise beach of your dreams, guests need only to take a few steps from their back porch. In addition to leisurely seaside living, Sri Lanka offers stellar surf breaks and more than a few local cultural landmarks nearby. Talalla House is conveniently adjacent to the picturesque Dondra Head Lighthouse and the beautiful seaside temple of Matara Paravi Duwa.

Simply Awesome
We were a group of three adults staying at Tamarind Sands for two weeks in July, and in one word: WOW. The villa is simply stunning, inside and out, set in one of the most breathtaking locations imaginable. Each bedroom opens directly onto a view of the pristine beach, with the soothing sound of waves gently breaking in the background. I had some of the best sleep of my life in the massive bed, wrapped in what felt like endless layers of Egyptian cotton.
Pure bliss. Step from the living area into the garden and pool area where there’s a path that takes you through a gate right onto the beach. The pool is incredible, long and deep, perfect for a pre breakfast or sunset dip. Sitting at breakfast or lunch, we were treated to regular visits in the garden by troops of monkeys, chipmunks, kingfishers and many other birds dropping in to feed on the fruit we would leave out for them. The location was perfect for us, especially since we had hired Royal Enfield motorbikes (awesome experience) giving us total freedom to explore. That said, even without your own transport, the villa staff can arrange tuk-tuks or taxis at a moment’s notice. About 20 minutes away is Hiriketiya, a relaxed surf town with a great selection of beach bars, restaurants, and shops.
Definitely worth a visit. As for the villa staff, what can I say? These five wonderful human beings truly made our stay unforgettable. They treated us like royalty, but with a warmth and friendliness that was completely genuine. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their hospitality elevated our entire experience. Every meal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner was something to look forward to. Every dish was beautifully prepared and utterly delicious. I’ve been fortunate to travel widely and stay in some incredible places, but hand on heart, Tamarind Sands is right up there with the very best.

Incredible Villa! We all loved it so much! It was absolutely wonderful and I mean that genuinely. The team here are just so kind, attentive, genuinely helpful and just all around lovely. Beautifully cooked food, well presented and well flavoured! They also took part in our Diwali celebrations and got thoughtful gifts for the children.
There was 10 of us staying, ages 3-80 and we all had a lovely time and felt well cared for. The space is so beautifully designed, it looks like something straight out of Architectural Digest, I couldn’t stop photographing it! It’s been well looked after and very thoughtfully curated, especially for people on an extended stay. Lovely balconies for each room, very useful yoga room, beautiful roof terrace, lovely quiet bedrooms with the comfiest beds (I’m fussy about hotel beds but slept so soundly here), beautifully designed eating area with delightful fresh table linen everyday.
The pool was wonderful, clean and nicely designed, especially since you can’t actually swim in the ocean outside of the garden, it’s too dangerous with the rip tide, but there is an ocean you can swim in that’s only 20 minutes away. The beach is still lovely though and it was quiet when we went.
Overall, absolutely wonderful, I would highly, HIGHLY recommend it and we will definitely be staying again. I will be dreaming of the granola until we can return.

We celebrated my birthday weekend at Talalla House and rarely did we experience such amazing customer service and felt at home. The property is well designed and feels like a home away from home. It’s a stone’s throw to the beach and has a beautiful pool. Throughout the stay the food prepared by Chef Mr Supun was more than outstanding. The house Manager Mr Anil was incredibly attentive and supported when anything was needed, together with Nishanti, Sumith and Sandun. Definitely the best team and wonderful hosts, who created a relaxed and stress-free atmosphere. We hope to be back soon! Thank you team Talalla House for a memorable time!

Stayed here for 10 days with a group of friends and had the best time ever! The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Especially Anil made our stay enjoyable, he helped us with everything you can think of and organized our stay. Also props to Summith the gardener who was very kind and kept the entire property looking perfect. The cook made us 3 delicious meals every day, I can only recommend the Okra Curry. Superb villa on a deserted beach
A beachfront villa with stunning oceanfront views, high-end service, sumptuous food and unbeaten level of privacy. We found the matress and cushions extremely comfortable in our large bedroom on the first floor.

The team were ready and waiting for us to arrive with a welcome drink that was very good and cold towel. The manager is brilliant. His English perfect and the team here are very well trained. Actually some of the best trained staff we have had this whole trip. The chef can cook and the quality is great, the ingredients fresh and I was very impressed. The first night we had the tuna and salad and perfectly cooked, bread to start and the dessert delicious.
The bedrooms are quiet which is always a plus. The room was dark which I love and no LCD light on the AC unit so we had a great night sleep. The internet is the best we have had all trip!
We are in love with the indoor / outdoor dining room. Well thought out design and very functional. I love the rooftop terrace, the views from upstairs and the real grass that lines the roof. OverallI love the villa and would live here any day. Alastair and I would list this in our top 5 villas of all time. So it rates very high in our book. I recommend this to anyone looking for a very special stay in Sri Lanka.

Perfect Family Holiday Rental
The location right on the beach is amazing. The beach is beautiful with white sand and warm waters. You walk from the house through palm trees to a perfect surf break (if you are into surfing) or can just swim in the warm waters. The house itself is beautiful, open plan living at its finest and the pool is amazing. My two kids were in love with the pool and we spent most of our time lazing around it’s edges.
The bedrooms are vast, comfy and have everything you need for a relaxing trip. We were a group of 8 adults and 2 kids under 5 and every need was always met by the amazing staff who run the villa. Sameera is an amazing host who looked after us so well – he organised day trips for us to safari parks, the local markets and tea plantations, helped us select our daily menu, gave us fantastic local restaurant recommendations and was excellent with the kids. He is a gem!
Actually all the staff were amazing. I loved the daily room service and turn down and absolutely loved the laundry service. Wo doesn’t love receiving clean clothes daily. Finally the food! Chef Anthony is an amazing chef his curries were the best I’ve ever had but the western food on offer was also wonderful. I can not fault our time at Talalla House and highly recommend it to anyone travelling in the region.

Wonderful House, Great Staff, Great Location
Talalla House was absolutely fantastic. It is in a wonderful location on a headland overlooking a lovely beach. The staff led by Sameera worked hard to make our stay perfect. Fabulous food cooked by Anthony the in-house chef. Really first class.
There are many beautiful villas in Sri Lanka but this one takes the experience to the next level. It’s newly built and its rather like having a high end boutique hotel to yourself.
Would really suit a group of several families travelling together.

An Amazing Retreat In a Secluded Beach
We rented the house with family and friends from 5y/o to 15 y/o kids and plenty of surf and booze. We had a blast and a really hood time there.
From the housekeeper to the manager and cooker everything ran perfectly and they provided all we wanted and needed, from medical assistance to special night with local dancers.

What’s Not To Like?
The wow factor of Tallala is the spectacular location overlooking one of the most stunning natural beaches in Sri Lanka with access a few steps through the garden gate! A morning swim in the Indian Ocean and a beach walk is priceless. Tallala is what it says ‘barefoot luxury at its best’. The house is luxurious and well designed to accommodate a group of people and the swimming pool is devine and again well designed.
Sameera and his team make the whole experience feel like home from home nothing is too much trouble. From providing king coconuts every morning before yoga to Anthony the chef taking guests to experience the local vegetable and fish market. Food was a delight our favourite was the amazing variety of delicious curries using local vegetables and incredible fresh fish that were lovingly prepared for us.
Sunsets and the stars at night are awesome and you leave your shoes at the door from the moment you arrive!

Amazing Talalla House
Talalla House is amazing, from the laid back feel to the villa, the wonderful and friendly staff, the chef and his cooking was amazing, and the beach is absolute paradise. I would definately go back, I only wish I could have stayed longer.
Every day the food was so fresh and beautifully cooked, chef Anthony goes out of his way to ensure he has picked the best fresh food for the guests. All the staff were so accommodating and helpful nothing was a problem for them. I hope to see them all again one day soon.
Sri Lanka is an amazing place, so beautiful and people are so friendly. All the food is lovely and so fresh.

Highest Quality Villa on An Almost Empty Beach
What a gem of a place Talalla House. One of those pieces of paradise that you struggle to find but are so pleased that you did! The house nestles alongside the unspoilt and beautiful Talallla beach and offers all the luxuries you could want without being overly pretentious. The pool is outstanding and the garden was lovely as well. We came here with our kids who were brilliantly catered for, but this would also be a fantastic place to come to with a group of friends. Sunsets to Remember Forever: Gorgeous Modern Fully Serviced Villa
We were a group of 10 at the villa and had an absolutely wonderful time. Sameera and his staff are attentive but never seem to be in your space which is great for a relaxing holiday.
By far the highlights were the three meals a day cooked up by chef Anthony. You would be hard pressed to find a better meal on the Island. The view from the roof top is out of this world, and sunset is exceptional. The swimming pool is warm, deep and sparklingly clean and you will find yourself in there at all times of the day.
The downside was that the beach is windy and the sea was fairly rough at this time of year. It is, however, a short tuk tuk ride to more secluded beaches in the area and Sameera can arrange this easily. We found ourselves doing this most days.
All in all the villa is a wonderful base to explore the surrounding area from, or to spend lazy days around the pool. The food is exceptional and no holiday here could ever be disappointing.

Brilliant holiday villa on the most perfect beach. The house is very well-appointed and has a real quality feel even though minimalist in design.
Staff are excellent and the food is restaurant quality.
Lots to see in the area but very hard to motivate to leave the pool, except for lunchtime beers at one of the many bars along the beach.

“Perfect Paradise”
We spent 2 faultless weeks with family and friends in Talalla House. The house is beautifully designed and the bedrooms and living area are designed and furnished to a very high standard.
The pool is perfect – very clean and the perfect temperature.The garden gate leads directly onto the near-empty beach. The villa staff are absolutely charming and extremely professional. The standard of cooking is very high and any catering requests (for example for the children) were never a problem.
We used the yoga shala every day and the house organised daily yoga and massages for us.
The house also organised transfers and day trips. They have a wonderful concierge service which means that food can be ordered and trips organised in advance of your stay. The house also helped us organise a party with traditional dancers and fireworks. There are several surfing bays close by.
