Built over three levels, the villa overlooks a truly jaw-dropping swimming pool which at 60 metres(!) long seems to go on forever.

The six bedrooms are very much equal in their sized and level of comfort – though the master bedroom does boast its own sunset terrace with 180-degree panoramas. The photoshoot ready villa is taken to the next level with the addition of a private cinema hidden downstairs.

Villa Hakuna Matata was designed by Spanish architect Felipe Gonzalez Jimenez de la Espada and this high pedigree shows in every artful angle and nook of the villa. The luminous design is complemented by artful interiors designed by Mersuka Dopazo. The end result is the epitome of modern tropical luxury, with the lush green vistas adding a Balinese twist.

Living Room

The lavish villa features numerous living areas with ample opportunity for both elaborate entertaining and quiet contemplation. The living room on the ground floor blends in with the dining areas, with an extensive use of glass bringing the tropical outdoors in. The room is dominated by a cream coloured sofa positioned before a large TV, with a beautifully woven red carpet adding a touch of the exotic. There is a leisurely, air-conditioned TV on the upper floor, furnished with a frosty blue sofa big enough to host an entourage for a movie night.

Dining Room

The dining room is located to the side of the living room, with a dining table seating 10 guests. Close by, the villa’s meticulously equipped kitchen can seat a further seven guests. Staying in this fully staffed villa, it’s unlikely you’ll do much cooking yourself and most importantly, no one in your group has to worry about washing up!

Cinema

Hidden downstairs, the villa’s private cinema room boasts 5 x 3 metre projector screen guaranteed to take your movie night to the next level.

Garden

Set amidst lush green rice paddies and banana groves, the villa’s setting is the dictionary definition of tropical bliss. The undeniable showstopper is the villa’s 60-metre long swimming pool which thanks to a shallow section caters to the whole family. Another highlight is the sunken lounge built to the side of the pool, with tempered glass touches allowing for direct glimpses into the pool. A collection of sun beds and parasols allows for a choice between sun and shade.

Villa Hakuna Matata has six bedrooms, all adjoined by ensuite bathrooms. Four bedrooms feature queen-sized beds and two rooms come with twin beds. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor and three bedrooms are located on the first floor. The sixth bedroom is located on the lower ground floor, next to the cinema.

Chef

The villa’s skilled private chef will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children’s suggestion menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements.

Villa Hakuna Matata is located in the trendy Canggu neighbourhood in Bali, Indonesia. The villa is located in a quiet corner of this hip locale, providing splendid vistas of the surrounding rice paddies and banana groves. It’s about a 10-minute drive to the main street of Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong which leads down to the popular Batu Bolong surf beach (you can also walk down to beach to Echo Beach or Berawa if you prefer).
