WOW! Out of all of the ultra villas we’ve inspected in Bali (and stayed in), Bond Bali is my personal favourite. In particular, I love the swimming pool, unique spa and rooftop areas. Every communal area has a unique aspect to admire and it’s own character. Alastair says Bond Bali achieves “spacial magnificence” as the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
Besides the incredible architecture, we were treated like royalty with incredibly warm hospitality – I loved the welcome note we received on the first day, written on a leaf!
Designed for Living
We spent a lot of time at the dining table, working and eating :) It’s so peaceful looking out to the pool and across at the rice fields, whilst also extremely comfortable for extended periods – soft lighting, comfortable seating, perfect climate control. The fresh fruit basket in the middle of the dining table is a beautiful feature.
It’s fascinating that a villa that does not look out of place in the world’s leading lifestyle magazines can feel soooo homely and comfortable at the same time. That’s when you know you’ve got a winner!
Designed for Hanging Out
There is ample room in Bond Bali for everyone to have their own space, but also come together. Located opposite the living and dining room is the villa’s lavish media and games room. Here guests can enjoy indulgent movie nights relaxing on the sofa, with the latest blockbusters playing on the big screen. Feel like shooting some pool instead? You’ve also got a billiard table.
We strongly suggest spending evenings together on the lounge on the roof of the villa, overlooking the rice fields. We felt really connected with nature and loved floating along the walkways of the rooftop gazing at the different flora below.
The Ultimate Spa
Incredible. Absolutely incredible.
Honestly, the owner has created the most amazing space – it’s difficult to capture on film and almost impossible to describe with words. We turned off almost all the lights and activated the disco gadget. The mist and fog rising from the warm water turned the ceiling into the Milky Way galaxy and we pointed to the “shooting stars” as individual lasers drifted across the wall onto the ceiling. The visuals were mesmorising; the feeling intoxicating and the overall experience was really, really incredible.

Michelin Star Standard
We had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the villa. Every meal was exquisite and Michelin-grade in our opinion. On the second day we had salmon, perfectly cooked, with the most delicious vegetables. When looking over at the food being prepared we were super impressed with the quality of the ingredients – every vegetable was A+ and everything was perfectly prepared.
Epitome of Balinese Hospitality
I believe the villa is half the reason guests return and the other half is the villa team. The staff are wonderful and very switched on. Most ultra villas have a small army of staff, however Bond Bali really demonstrated that if the staff you have are experienced, efficient and focused, you don’t need a massive team of villa attendants. Our butler, Mega, was amazing: he was extremely organised, polite and ultra-attentive. Somehow he knew exactly when to refresh our gin & tonics while on the rooftop. Cheers Mega!

The name ‘Bond’ alludes to connections: the exquisite split-level villa was designed to bring people together and to strengthen the bonds that bind us to each other and to the nature that surround us. After spending a few nights here, we really felt that connection and found it hard to leave.
