Shopping

Bang Jo is not a shopping destination, so do not expect there either myriad of fashion shops or massive shopping malls and centres. The area features with seclusion and exclusiveness, and there are no random street stalls lining roads.

For groceries head to the nearby areas of Bang Tao and Surin, housing several mini marts. If you want to immerse into serious shopping, you might need to travel further to Phuket Town or Patong that host hundreds of standalone stores, shopping centers, local markets and bazaars.

Though, some basic souvenirs you will find in the neighbouring coastal villages of Bang Tao and Layan, which can be easily reached on foot.

Relaxation

Most of the beach bars situated in Bang Tao remain open till midnight but if you want to party from the dusk-till-dawn head to the infamous Patong, where all kind of entertainment is available.

Getting There

Although it is possible to get to Bang Jo, Phuket over land or water, the best way is to fly.

AIRPORT AND PIER TRANSFERS

It can take between 30 minutes to 45 minutes to reach Bang Jo from Phuket International Airport depending on traffic. Ministry of Villas can arrange a chauffeur to greet you upon arrival and escort you to your villa.

AIRPORT TAXI

Alternatively, there is a taxi desk at the arrival level which arranges one-way fares at a fixed-price. You can opt one of the transfer options – a shared mini van with other travellers or a private taxi.

PRIVATE CAR

ON FOOT

Bang Jo is a rather small area ideal for walking around with all these picturesque lanes and paths crossing the village and linking the major tourist attractions. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate some empty roads perfect for jogging or fast walking.

RENTAL SCOOTER

Finding a scooter rental shop in Bang Jo might be tricky, so it is recommended to rent a motorbike in the more popular tourist locations with a larger selection available. Moving around by motorbike is a fast way to get to the destination point, however, a certain level of experience is required. Most important: you must have an international drivers license on your person at all times, otherwise, the local police can issue you a ticket with a summons to appear in court. And, of course, make sure you wear a helmet.

RENTAL CAR

It can be challenging to find a car rental shop in Bang Jo, so if you are travelling from the Phuket International Airport, it is highly recommended to hire a car from one of the offices located in the arrival terminal.
